The pub is a one man show, so it can get busy around 10pm-2 am, but the owner is really friendly and tries to tend to everyone the best he can. Don't expect any crazy cocktails or handcrafted drinks here, just simple (but super strong) well drinks and draft beer. Tom and Jerry's is a perfect place to peek your head into after a long flight or big meal at prince street. The pub is nicely decorated with taxidermy mounts and many pottery plates and bowls. There's a lot to like about this bar. A very cool space, reasonably priced drinks, not too crowded for an earlish Friday night spot to start the evening and good music. We got there a little after the rest of our group so I followed their lead and got a canned marg drink (cannot remember the actual brand) but it was pretty good! If you like tart you might like that. Tom and Jerry's is a dive bar in Manhattan with a lot of character. It's open late and serves generously poured drinks at reasonable prices--they also offer some special deals where you can get a beer and a shot for $10 or so. The bartender, Brian, was charismatic and friendly and took to chat with us even though he was a one man show and the bar was busy. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're looking for a chill spot with simple but strong drinks. Well! Wish there was a possibility to leave 0 stars, but sadly that isn't an option. I have never experienced such poor taste and classless employees before (and that is being generous). Let me outline some of the unforunate events below: 1. The bartenders ignored my friends and I for simply asking to put on a birthday song for a friend (as her birthday was in 5 minutes). 2. When asked for drinks/shots, they refused to listen and serve us. 3. When asked for "THREE shots", the bartender screamed "No, I'm not giving you 'FREE shots'" followed by an insane amount of eye rolls. 4. Was most definitely overcharged as 3 mixed shots shouldn't have been $45. 5. Was proceeding to leave cash as a tip (because I am in the service industry and believe in good tip culture), but my money "wasn't wanted" and it was turned away. To management - I'd probably start taking the hiring process a bit more seriously as you have made some poor choices with some of the people who run your bar. This sentiment was also shared by multiple groups of people on our way out, agreeing with the lack of professionalism that they also unfortunately encountered. Do better. read more

This is my favorite bar in the city. GREAT music, GREAT and friendly bartenders (I told them my neck was killing me after they saw my friend digging her elbow into it) and one of the bartenders brought me a couple of Tylenols and suggested I try remember Pilates. So incredibly nice (and thank you so much)! There's also always a great crowd, mostly younger, but some on the older side, too, and the music is on point every single time. This bar has a down home feel to it that draws me in. I love the high ceilings, the hardwood floors, the taxidermy, the vintage Pyrex bowl's on the shelf behind the bar with lettering spelling out "Tom & Jerry's" and I especially love the crafty beers on top. It makes me feel at home. One night I came here with my husband and everyone had brought their pup with them. The place was crawling with K9's. My husband was in love! He's a huge fan of those who walk on 4 legs. They were running down to the basement and back and forth from the bar. It felt like this was everyone's neighborhood bar and the pups owned the place. When I first drank here years ago (on a St. Patrick's Day bender, no less) I can't say I was blown away, but I came back on a tip that T&J was dog-friendly. In point of fact, Tom & Jerry's way way more impressive the second time around. The atmosephere was that of a chill neighborhood bar, albeit one that attracts Green Bay Packers cheesehead fans on Game Day. The beer selection is pretty good, with two or three interesting drafts. There's also a whole host of interesting cocktails you might try. I definitely dipped into one or two. There's a giant TV in the back to blast sporting events, too. Cute bar but one bartender was incredibly rude. Went out of his way to make 3 separate comments to people I saw who just looked shocked. First one he was getting angry that we didn't start a tab and that he had to keep swiping the card when there was 10 of us we didn't want a tab that is not his business to comment on that. Secondly, my friend ordered a vodka and tequila soda and turned around for a second and asked which was which and he said "i already told you" and she said "sorry i was talking to my friend" and he rolled his eyes and said "priorities." As the evening worn onward with the passage of time, Tom & Jerry's became packed with more after work patrons to seek solace filling the bar and rear lounge area. We were able to uphold an in-depth conversation comfortably albeit, without the deafening background music drowning our voices. The power of observation surveys a lot of details for Tom & Jerry's atmospheric conditions. A miniature replica of a bronze statute "Lunch Atop A Skyscraper" 1932 famous photo by Charles C. Ebbets sits behind the bar. Two moose's are hung on the wall like old school log cabins, which baffles me if either or are slained animals or fake. Plasma TV fill the void for patrons to view their precious sports. Drinks hold substance amid no alcohol were in-taken by either of us, but price appear reasonable. N.B. No food exist but patrons are permitted BYOF of choice or takeout order to be delivered. read more

i've been here quite a few times and really like it! however, i went last night and an older man who i've never seen was behind the bar. i had just gotten off work around 2 am, and i wanted to grab a martini before heading home. he refused to serve me, saying i had been over served. when i informed him i had not had a single drink (unlike a lot of services jobs, drinking at my job is a fire-able offense), and was very much sober, he responded with "well i just don't want to serve YOU." when i asked why, he refused to answer and went on to humiliate me infront of a pretty crowded bar. two kind strangers took notice, provided me comfort, and the three of us went somewhere else. it was such a strange and humiliating experience. additionally, i'd say 80-90% of patrons in the establishment were white. i am a biracial, noticeably brown woman, and the two strangers who took notice and left with me to go elsewhere were both black. the older man who refused to serve me without reason was a white man. i don't want to make such large accusations, but it is something to take note of. i felt very disheartened by the experience, especially due to the fact on other nights i've had such a great time and there's definitely been patrons who are completely wasted to the point they should have no longer been served but still managed to get more drinks. it was a cruel and humiliating experience and i can't say if i'll ever go back after that. read more

This is a great dive bar. The service is incredible. The bartenders are so awesome. The price point is great and have options for everyone. This is cash only, so keep that in mind, but this isn't a huge negative for me as this is a dive bar. They are pup friendly- a definite plus! The only thing I do not care for is the taxidermy on the walls. This bar would be a perfect 5 for me if not for that. It's just not my vibe and I think the bar would have an even better atmosphere without them. Even with that in mind, I still continue to come back because everyone here is really nice. The bar itself is actually pretty interesting, they have a lot of room near the back, tables and chairs all along the huge bar, and plenty of room for standing. We came around 8pm on a Saturday night and were able to get a couple seats at the bar and the rest of us stand around them. The bartender was really friendly, service wasn't slow. Drinks aren't that expensive either! Around 8-9$$. The vibe is definitely more low key casual drinks, great place for hanging with friends, meeting other trendy people, or discussing how big a moose head actually is. read more
