I was in town and needed some caffeine. It's a pretty large shop and on a Thursday around 6:30pm was only 25% full - other reviews say it is always packed but clearly it depends when you go. The sales clerk was nice and I got a small coffee. I was bummed my only option at this time was medium because I wanted a light roast, but it was fine. The coffee had a good taste and I always prefer local coffee shops to the big chains. I love this place. Like all places in Boulder, the vibes inside are so perfect. Coffee: Great quality coffee. I literally have never tasted a bean with that kind of taste but it was delicious. It is rich and the prices are outstanding! I mean, 2.45 for a cup of coffee and 4.25 for a latte??? Outstanding! Energy: Energy was great. It was a nice warm and quiet environment, classic college coffee shop. People working and people having quiet conversations. The staff are very friendly, and everyone in there is respectful to the people trying to work as well. I truly did feel like I belonged and that no one was too obnoxious to the point where I couldn't focus. My only complaint would be no outlets on the tables... but that's about it. I visited as a tourist driving by this nice street with alot of eatery took some bite for brunch and looked at the yelp and found this coffe place. My wife and I ordered two coffee while waiting took some video and pictures of the place. And this guy sitting at the bar on a laptop claiming as owner reached out to me and told me why the fk am I taking pictures and video like a perv.. and the workers just looked.. like they dont want to intervene.. yo if you dont want tourist to take pictures and video put a sign not to take it. Never went into a establishment got this type of slandering from so called owner. Such a embarrassing experience.... who the heck are these pictures on yelp coming from??? heard this town has some racial discrimination issues going on hopefully this isnt the issue the way I got treated. It was a fine coffee shop to work at for a couple hours. There was no visible wifi password available. I went on a Friday morning and it was surprisingly busy. However, thought it was great that they had their almond and oat milk out at their self help station for you to self pour and did not look like there was an extra fee for this. What a great spot. I came here to get some work done on my laptop and the place was packed. I almost left because it seemed there would not be any outlets. There was at least one table available, it was tiny but was enough space for a cup of chai and my laptop. There are a lot of seats there but only the ones along the walls have outlets. That isn't to say there are not enough outlets though. The place is typically loud as are most cafes but played music to drown out otherwise audible conversation. The spiced chai was great. Something I'm not used to having it had chili powder in it that made it actually spicy. Definitely can't drink this one in a hurry. It was very good though. Unique kind of drink. read more

We tried the Laughing Goat as we like to support local/family owned businesses but I wasn't impressed. We were drawn to the coffee shop as it had strong ratings. We got the oatmilk cappuccino with butter pecan flavoring and the non-fat iced chai tea latte. The flavoring was suggested by the young individual taking my order. The butter pecan flavoring was over powering and I did not like the taste it left on my tongue after drinking it. The iced chai tea tasted watered down. Epic fail! I want to love this place, but at least I don't hate it. Don't get me wrong. The place does have a pleasant vibe. They have live music and poetry, and definitely the best tasting mocha in town. They also serve beer and overpriced, cheap tasting wine that they under-pour. They are open late which is why I find myself here more often then not. But the place is always crowded. Just stopped by this quirky, little coffee shop in Boulder yesterday. I went on a hike to the Royal Arch and Yelped some good coffee places nearby and the Laughing Goat seemed popular so I thought I'd pay it a visit. I ordered my favorite chai - Bhakti Chai - and it was delicious, per usual. I was pretty hungry, after the hike, and was disappointed that they didn't have too many munchies (but then again, it IS a coffee shop, so I understood). This place seems like an ideal coffee shop for studying. It is extremely spacious and there's a quiet area in the back for people to get work done. I'd visit this place more if I lived in Boulder. Between the years 2007 and 2012 I would go to the Laughing Goat multiple times per week--sometimes for morning coffee, sometimes for an evening of music, and sometimes for an afternoon meeting or homework session. I'm sure at some point I had a bad experience with a barista or the coffee or food wasn't up to par, but I can't think of any. This place is Boulder--it's a place you can come and hang out with a cup of coffee and a book/laptop for a couple hours or meet up with a bunch of your friends and plan your day. Had a great experience here at the Laughing Goat. The staff was very friendly. I typically seek out these types of coffee houses first and foremost for the skills of the baristas and the quality of the coffee. I ordered a latte. While they were preparing my drink I was snapping pictures of the decor, the machines, and finally my drink. The atmosphere was just fine my family enjoyed our beverages outside. Their beans are from a local Colorado roaster called Kaladi Coffee. This is the first time I've ever seen beans for purchase kept in a freezer. In fact it says that on the bags that the beans are perishable and should be kept in a frozen. I'm not sure how I feel about this. While it is true that coffee is a crop and perishable, keeping it in a freezer at home would absorb whatever moisture is in that freezer. i bought some coffee anyway and will see if that had any effect on the taste. read more

I discovered the Laughing Goat's Pearl Street location after a barista at Norlin Library suggested I check it out. I wish I had visited the Pearl location much sooner! Waiting in line is the worst part, but I don't mind because I know what awaits me is a damn good cup of coffee (or tea). I always try to make conversation with the cashier; my drink seems to come out faster and my morning is much brighter when I do. Very interesting people work here! The food is top notch for a coffee shop, but isn't exactly low-cal. I always enjoy my mornings spent on the patio with an iced toddy (the BEST iced toddy I've ever had!--it's cold-brewed coffee). This was my go-to coffee shop every morning when I got my first "real job" after graduating from CU. Live music, poetry nights, art exhibitions...plenty of seating...plus wine and beer (if you're in that mood)....there simply exists no other place like The Laughing Goat. read more

I ordered a wet cappuccino and got almost a 1/2" of foam on the top. I drank maybe a 1/3 of the drink before I called it quits. The espresso was slightly bitter, but not bad. That's just the coffee snob coming out. None of the baristas have there hair tied back which I think all food service should have. I know it's a health code law, but maybe not for coffee shops? The staff was polite and the atmosphere is awesome. Over all its a great place to sit and chill, but I think if you're going to be a coffee shop your coffee should be on point. We wanted some music after dinner, and luckily found the Laughing Goat an hour before they were closing. At the back was an intimate little stage surrounded by an enthralled audience listening to a performer putting his unique spin on music, and doing some original songs. We enjoyed a coup,e of beers, although a few people were sipping their coffees. We enjoyed the live music, staff was unobtrusive, and the bathrooms were in tip top shape. This was my friend's former favorite coffeehouse before she moved to Denver, so I stopped here once or twice when she was still living in Boulder. Really good coffee (like, exceptionally good, wowow) and delicious snacks. I had a cupcake while visiting friends, and a bhakti chai. They also serve alcohol, so this is a cute after dinner spot. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere and I appreciated that it was open late, but I'm not a fan of live music, so it was a little loud and overwhelming for me. What a funky place. I stopped in at the Laughing Goat around 715 or so on a Monday night. I had been bouncing around Boulder all afternoon exploring various restaurants and happy hours and needed a caffeine break before going back to my hotel to get ready for dinner. Total hipster vibes in here, I felt a little bit out of place to be honest but the staff was friendly. I was told they were going to have live music coming on within the hour, which I wasn't going to be able to stay around for but nevertheless I loved the idea of live music. The cafe was surprisingly big. Lots of seating in the front and in the back. The back is where the stage was set up and I saw the band preparing and warming up. I took a seat in the back along the wall and plugged into my laptop. This is definitely a good place to get some work done. I ordered a decaf americano and it was delicious. One of the best tasting espressos I've ever had. I didn't stay long, maybe 20 minutes or so, enjoyed my cup, listened to a little bit of the bands warm up and was on my way. This coffee shop also serves alcohol, which I thought was cool. I love a place like this, one where you can enjoy coffee and get some work done and then celebrate with a glass of wine after while listening to some live music. I ordered a cortado and an iced coffee and I drank every drop of both of them. Boulder has some great coffee shops, and this is one of the best. I like everything about it. The chai is fantastic, the baristas friendly, and the pastries tasty. There's an outdoor seating area with good Pearl Street people watching. The vibe of the place is warm and cooperative. Customers share tables when it's crowded, and it's often crowded. In the evenings there's often a concert or poetry reading happening with local musicians or poets performing. And they stay open later than most coffee shops so you can come here for dessert or to listen to music after dinner at a restaurant. I recommend it highly! read more

Great place! Diversity of crowd with different music groups playing every night, good WIFI, good barista service, and an enjoyable environment. There's even dancing on some nights with certain bands.
