I had unlimited supply of water and round the clock assistance whenever I needed it, and they worked with my birthing Doula quite well during the actual birth.

So who knows? We'll call it: 2999 REGENT MEDICAL CARE CENTER. It's full of medical offices. They have their own parking lot below, and if you drive down to the LOWER LEVEL, which means head straight ahead after you enter, drive to the first dead-end wall, and turn right you will find yourself on the BASEMENT LEVEL of the parking complex. If there are no spaces left, there is FREE VALET PARKING on this level. The parking lot is not free, only the Valet, and of course you need to tip the Valet guys at least $5 unless you're cheap. Poor guy stands around all day, after all. This is the best way to get in if you are handicapped. There is an elevator that goes directly up into the Lobby Level from the basement. Leaving the parking lot, you will see a sign on the exit gate saying: CREDIT CARD ONLY. However, when I ask the parking guy in the booth he said they also take cash in case someone doesn't have a credit card. Therefore, they should take down this MISLEADING and WRONG sign. Also, there's another misleading sign in front of the building saying "Handicapped Access," and pointing to the side of the building. There is ONLY ONE blue handicapped spot outside, and it's always filled. So, if you follow the sign it takes you to a dead end street with this ONE SINGLE DISABLED SPACE which has not been empty in about thirty years. So, don't fall for the ruse and use the expensive parking lot ($4.50 for first thirty minutes) as you have no choice.

All because I wanted to get a refill for a prescription and figured I would get a flu shot at the same visit. The MD discussed my immunizations, but they appear to have lost record of a shingles shot they gave me a couple of years ago. My previous physician there, Dr. Whitgob, from whom I received excellent care from, left the practice. I called them a month ago when I received the bill. They said to fax a letter. I tried several times, but their fax machine was always busy. So I mailed the letter. When I called they said they received nothing. While the medical and nursing staff have been good (that's why they get any stars from me) the office and billing departments are awful. The last time i went there for a flu shot, i waited nearly an hour, finally went back to the desk and they admitted they forgot about me. BTW, they currently go by the name Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation.

I have had billing issues in general with Sutter but I am absolutely done with the after this. Next step is contacting insurance because they're up coding appointments like crazy here.

I didn't wait long, maybe around 5-10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. I presented my confirmation email holding information for my registration number, account number and bar code. Front desk staff Angie said that I would have to pay out of pocket because she's not familiar with the email I presented to her. She stated they only accept two different entities that schedule drug screens. The instructions I received directed me to Carbon Health, while the screening itself was being managed through Vertical Screen. When I arrived, I attempted to explain the situation to the front desk receptionist. It became apparent that my explanation wasn't being fully understood, so I referenced the different entities listed in my email and specifically identified Vertical Screen as the third-party provider. When I mentioned, "It's through Vertical Screen," I was met with a confused "What?" in a noticeably dismissive tone. After repeating myself, the receptionist looked at her computer and simply responded, "K." Unfortunately, this interaction felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. I also spoke with the same receptionist over the phone the day prior to schedule my appointment and experienced a similarly indifferent and discourteous tone. During my wait to be called by a provider for my drug screening, she also answered a phone call, requested to put the patient on hold, and went on her phone for 5 minutes prior to picking up the call -- a greater representation of unprofessionalism in the workplace. I understand that front desk staff often handle a high volume of patients, non-members, and third-party vendors, and that challenging days happen. However, professionalism and courtesy should remain a priority, regardless of the circumstances. As someone who works in healthcare administration for large healthcare organizations where patient experience and service are heavily emphasized, I was disappointed by the lack of basic customer service. I've asked Carbon Health several times to refund my $225. and they have refused. Carbon Health's management is at fault for this. They haven't hired or trained their staff properly.

They prescribed OTC remedies that did nothing. My daughter had a chronic cough and sickness for a month. We made another appointment two weeks later with her primary care doctor for an urgent sick visit since she was not healing from this ongoing cold and chronic coughing-vomiting. Castro Valley Dr. gave her antibiotics and she was better in two days. The lack of compassion for the patient and families needs is very costly with our experience with Berkeley Urgent Care. Listening to the patient is key to a successful relationship for good health and it doesn't seem to be happening in Berkeley. Another incident at Berkeley Urgent Care happened when I went in with what I thought was shingles and they sent me to the ER for an abdominal exam. The minute I arrived at the ER and went through triage, they spotted the small rash and said it was shingles instantly. Berkeley Urgent Care blew me off and sent me to the ER and cost me $6k. My Family has learned a very expensive lesson with Berkeley Urgent Care.
