HAPPY WE DID THIS PROJECT I am happy to refer the Lawn Squad to anyone who has a medium to large landscape job. We were planning to update our outside for two main reasons. We wanted better appeal and we had a sinking problem in the backyard due to old trees being buried from contractors many years ago. We also dropped six trees to open up the yard. When I started the search I believed that it would be easy to fine someone to just add soil to fill the area and level the backyard. Maybe eight contractors came and told me stories of four loads of top soil and major walls needed to stop the runoff. Some were uninsured and some were just small two person groups. Some were well known names. Our property was the end unit of the street with trees surrounding us so only one entrance was possible. So to be fair most were guessing what it would take. In the front yard we needed to stop the runoff that was taking soil away and getting worse each year. I am over 70 and I thought to save money I could lay the sod and upgrade the bushes in the front and back. (my wife thought better that I should not). Anyway after a month of looking we noticed that a lot of people were saying that the Lawn Squad had a good reputation. We looked at the projects they did and it looked larger than what we do. But we called Adam and said he would come out on a Sunday. He came and after the first five minutes I made my wife come out to listen. He took us to the back and said it would be at least 9 loads of soil to raise the yard, and 4 loads for the front. He immediately told us 'no walls ' were needed just leveling and refocusing our runoffs. Well he was the first experienced contractor to sound like he really knew what he was talking about. He also said he was extremely busy and if we wanted his services we would need to do it at the last week of September since that was all he had left. He put a bid together that night and my wife looked it over and decided to go with them. Like most people I was completely clueless how much it would be. So yes there was sticker shock. Most homeowners think they can do everything cheap. So yes it was more but not when you getting the amount of work we did. Anyway Adam, and his son Blaze, and three hard workers Fernando, Mario, Jose did an amazing job on totally removing old bushes, bringing in 13 loads of soil, sod. We also had a side to the house where we could not grow anything so Blaze showed us pictures with a new set of stone stairs. Yes it too was expensive ( remember I am the clueless home owner) but we decided we wanted these also. So the team added this to the project. Somehow they were able to get all of this done within the week. And that was because the crew works so well together. So there is a moral to the story. If you want to find a great landscaping crew and company, insured, with their own equipment, and will tell you the FACTS, not the guess work, then talk with these people. Oh yea do not leave out Windy his wife since she was helpful picking the bushes to replace and as my wife said gives us a very nice clean and attractive appeal to our home. I have so many positive things to say about Adam and everyone that works with him. Adam called me back immediately and came out the next day to our property on a Sunday. Two hours after meeting with him, his knowledge, honest opinions and ideas really grabbed our attention and automatic trust that he knew exactly how to get the job done... and it was no small job needing 8 loads of dirt and 10 pallets of Zeon Zoysia. He and Windy were able to answer every single question and addressed any and all concerns we had about moving forward. Everything was laid out in front of us with zero surprises making us feel even more reassured that we had found the perfect company to help create our new backyard! Adam and Windy were amazing with helping us do our backyard makeover. We bought our house with a full out forest in the back 2 years ago. We knew it would be a while before we could get a real backyard. We had multiple other companies come look at it and basically turn back around saying it was going to cost us a fortune, meaning they didn't want any part of it. Adam came and seemed very thrilled about the challenge and was willing to take both the regrading and yard work on. He gave us fair and market quotes for the whole regrading process, TONS of dirt, Zeon, mulch, long needle pine straw. stepping stones, and gravel for the extended driveway. We are so thrilled with their service and the outcome that we will be using them again to upgrade our driveway, in the future we are tapped out right now =). I am attaching a before and after picture so that you too can be blown away by their work. Only one negative was we had to wait 3 weeks for the final phase because of the sod company. But that was to ensure top quality Zeon grass for our project, that is like waiting for the hot fries in drive through, sooooooo worth it! You will not be disappointed!!! The Lawn Squad is the real deal!! These guys are not just some dudes with a lawn mower and a blower. They are professionals 100%. They completed a total transformation project on my front yard. The builder planted garbage and they fixed that. They went above and beyond the quoted job for a beautiful result. Highly recommend them. Adam designed the entire project, quoted a great price, that included pine straw, tress and shrub removal and planting of all new tress shrubs, flowers, and planters with black walnut mulch for the entire yard. The results were amazing!! I just hired them again to do another project and all my neighbors and friends want to know how I did it and who helped me. My house definitely stands out now. Adam is on every job and puts his signature touch on every job. They also have done my regular maintenance for the last year and even the way they edge sets my yard apart. Adam and the whole team at Lawn Squad were amazing to work with. They returned emails and phone calls quickly and really went above and beyond. We asked them to come out to address some drainage issues we were having in our yard. We had no idea what we wanted and Adam came out and gave us all the options and his recommendations for each area. He answered all 10,000 questions I had leading up to the day and even checked in with us after the job was completed. Adam and his team also took care as to where they placed the piles of mulch, rocks, and dirt, as to not disturb the grass we did have or leave the driveway a mess. A tree service had done substantial damage to our existing landscaping, and the removal of five trees allowed us to expand our grassy area and add bushes that could thrive in the increased available sunlight. Grading was required to correct our torn up yard. Adam arrived as scheduled for both the quote and for the work he and his crew completed in our yard. Working with Adam was pleasant. His knowledge and professionalism made us confident in his work. He listened to our ideas, made great suggestions, and then made a plan that, when implemented, looks beautiful. The entire team at Lawn Squad was super professional from the moment I reached out, till after the job was completed. After requesting a quote, which was done promptly, we had to pause for a few months. However, when we were able to move forward with our project Adam came back out - made sure we were set for everything we'd need, got us on the books and made our lawn look amazing. Even made sure to think of our driveway and other areas with all the mulch. When our HOA gave us some issue, he was able to provide documentation in less than an hour(!!!) that cleared everything right up for us. I asked for a miracle and Lawn Squad delivered. My backyard was destroyed by my 4 dogs, Mother Nature and perhaps my less than stellar lawn maintenance skills. This yard was a complete mess. Adam came over and walked me through everything that needed to be done to restore the value and usability of my yard and to keep my maintenance minimal. After obtaining several proposals to grade our property and lay sod, we contracted with The Lawn Squad to grade, prep and lay about 8,000 sf of Zeno Zoysia sod. The entire process was very smooth. Adam and his crew did a fantastic job of grading, prep and laying sod, they left no gaps and made sure the sod they layed was viable. The project was complete on schedule. Adam and Windy both made sure the lines of communication was alway open. As the project was completed they gave us recommendations on who could help us and how to maintain our new yard which has been very helpful. What is incredible is that he took the time to provide a comprehensive list of recommendations for lawn maintenance services, and even followed-up in a second detailed message to answer a few additional questions that I had. I selected the Lawn Squad to install new fescue sod in my front yard. The little grass that grew in the area was a mix of several grass types. Adam had a comparable approach to other contractors but more competitive pricing. I was very pleased with the installation process. Adam and his crew scrapped up the existing grass, then improved the grade of my undulating yard to provide a more uniform slope. Grading included placement of a truck load of good quality well screened topsoil, which should help the sod to grow. The new sod looks excellent.
