I filled out a request/application to be contacted (provided on the website) and to be honest, my expectations of actually receiving a call or email where not very high. Well, what do you know, the owner herself reached out to me through HER OWN CELL PHONE! She was welcoming and asked about me!!! What I usually get when I reach out to a business is a full verbal display about what they have to offer; in this case, the owner asked about me, my needs, my goals. She HEARD me and asked me questions!! Wow! My jaw was wide opened and I knew right there I could expect nothing but professionalism and dedication. I was kindly invited to a complementary class to check out the gym. I showed up at the place and I was impressed with how intimate and inviting the atmosphere was so I could bring out the best of me. I was greeted by a trainer and while I was waiting for the class to start, the owner made herself availability to meet me at her facility...how about that! The class was perfect for me, and all I can say is if you need a place that can motivate you to become the best version of you, you have to check it out, the owner made it clear that she cares not only in words but also in actions.

We have always worked out at this location anytime we visited the Island, and for the past few…read moreyears we saw a slow decline in the appearance of the facility. Last year we decided to train in AC due to the cleanliness of the gym, but the commute was an issue so when we discovered this location was under new ownership this year and we decided to give it a try. To our surprise, they did a great job cleaning up the place and rearranging the equipment. Not only was it cleaner, it was so much easier to navigate the weight room. They still need to update the locker rooms, fix the turf on the roof top and patch the drywall, but they are moving in the right direction. I could tell the new owners actually cared about the condition of the facility and took pride in the what they were doing. The equipment is more than satisfactory, but there are simple upgrades like new stretching mats that would make a huge difference. I look forward to returning next year to see what additional changes they make over the off-season.

John responded to all my emails quickly with helpful information. When I asked for an update (The kite I ordered was on back order) he offered to upgrade my kite just to get it to me sooner. The fact that most kites come with a bonus stunt kite is incredible, I didn't even know I wanted a stunt kite but now it's one of my favourite pass times. I will never buy a kite from another store even if it is more expensive (which is unlikely because these prices Are amazing). I will Direct all my friend to this shop when they fall in love with kiting after trying my new kite for the first time. If you are considering a getting into kiting then do yourself a favour and start here.

I was in town for one week and am in the process of learning to kiteboard. I spoke with Bob (the…read moreshop owner) and the instructor, Jaxson, about my skill level (beginner, got up on the board and moving forward during the last lesson I had) and goals prior to arriving. My first lesson with Jaxson was not good. He was not prepared from an equipment/communication standpoint for the lesson. He had only a waist harness (no seat harness) for a beginner lesson. He brought only one size kite, which seemed too small for the amount of wind we had and my body weight. He brought only one size board, which was ~20cm smaller than the board I used during other lessons. It is my understanding that larger boards are preferential for beginners. He asked me if I wanted to wear a helmet (yes, I am still learning). He did not bring an impact vest. He did not bring a method of communication (ie BbTALKIN). Whenever I would ask Jaxson a technical question, his basic response was "that's just how it is". I am a very technical person and I appreciate understanding how things work. I like to know the details. When I tried to dig deeper for further details, I could sense him getting frustrated. He would just reiterate what he had already said. After our lesson, he sent me a text stating that I wasted his time and money because I misrepresented my skill level (I told him I was a beginner). He also stated he was upset with me because he bumped me ahead of other students that had been waiting for at least a month for a lesson (I did not ask for this). If you want to learn to kiteboard, please go elsewhere or you will be disappointed. I wasted my time and money (and excitement). Please don't waste yours!
