Her teachers accept her for who she is and they embrace it. Our youngest started in the infant room and I never once had to worry about a single thing. The best, top notch teachers I have ever met. I also respect and appreciate that they don't sugar coat things, if my child was having behaviors the teachers are very professional and take the time to talk with me about it and how we can work together as a team to improve the behaviors. They are always so kind, efficient, and quick to assist with any questions or requests I have, all while maintaining a positive, genuine attitude. I also witnessed a difficult situation with an upset and completely out of control parent recently (cussing and yelling at them! In front of kids) , and the way they handled it was truly impressive--they stayed calm and professional, which is something I know I could not have done. I've had experiences at other schools where I considered leaving due to poor interactions with front desk staff alone, but the team at Lighthouse has truly made it one of the best schools we've ever attended. I know people read reviews that other customers leave in an effort to find out if that business will work for their needs. We have had a few minor needs and once addressed with the staff they team up with you as the parent to accommodate and come up with a solution to the situation at hand. I have scoured all over Flower Mound/Lewisville (where I live) and all of Grapevine (where I work) including surrounding cities, and no other facility meets my standard to take my most prized possessions. My first job out of high school was in childcare for 7 years and I know exactly what to look for. I understand there are some negative reviews for Childrens Lighthouse and that as humans not everyone will be happy but please know that there are situations that this business faces. For example: There was another child harming my child and other children on a daily basis and eventually the child was unenrolled, and the parent went on google and left a horrible review. I know first-hand that some of the information in the review was incorrect. Unfortunately, on these platforms there is a major struggle. The customer can tell a story but because of privacy the owners and staff of Childrens Lighthouse are unable to defend themselves. So, it just appears the customers story is accurate, but the business is unable to speak on the topic. We attended NTLC for about a year and a half after coming from another daycare where we had a…read morereally difficult experience. When we first started, my son was 3 years old, and we truly loved his teacher. He adjusted well, was happy, and we felt like we had found a good fit for our family. Things started to change when he turned 4 and moved into the Pre-K classroom. During his time in that class, there were 3-4 teacher changes, and the lack of consistency was very difficult for him. We started seeing more behavioral struggles and tried to work with the school to figure out how we could support him together. Unfortunately, we often felt like communication was lacking, and we weren't getting a clear picture of what was happening during his days there. By the time we were made aware of the full extent of the issues, his behaviors had escalated to things like hitting, biting, and trying to leave the school. Even then, we felt the severity of what was happening was not fully communicated. A few months before they decided to unenroll him, we started receiving more details about what had been happening. These were things we felt should have been documented and communicated on the days they occurred, rather than being shared months later. We provided multiple plans and suggestions and truly tried to partner with the school. However, it often felt like our ideas were dismissed with a "we can't do that," or they would try something once or twice and decide it wasn't working. There was no consistent approach, and we never felt like everyone was working toward the same goal. This experience was disappointing because we genuinely wanted to work together to help our son succeed. Unfortunately, I would not recommend NTLC for children who are strong-willed, struggle with transitions, or need additional behavioral support. If your child does not fit the expectations outlined in their handbook, it felt like the staff struggled to determine how to best support them. While there were staff members we appreciated, our overall experience was that the communication and support from administration were not what we needed during a challenging time. We also found that questions and feedback were often met with defensiveness rather than an open conversation focused on finding solutions.

We even recommended them to several of our friends. NLTC made becoming parents so much smoother. We learned so much from the staff and how wonderfully they run their program. We moved out of state and leaving them was the hardest part. The owner was condescending in his remarks…read moretowards me, but I am simply underwhelmed by this curriculum and its inability to afford his "team" the material or guidance necessary to adjust to our children's learning and development needs. While my background is admittedly very limited in this subject matter, I would be more inclined towards the Creative Curriculum (like our daughter's previous school) or HighScope. I also provided a critical review on another forum, and I was met with retaliation from the owner, demanding over a phone call to me that the post be removed. I was simply sharing my expectations, and how the academic standards fell far short of how our children were developing. The owner proceeded to publicly divulge private, personal matters in his response, and even sided with and made concerted efforts with the mother in an effort to diminish me, and dismissing my valid concerns. We had an in-person appointment on Friday at the school to discuss further, which I have now cancelled, because of this public demonstration of retribution from the owner himself. Is this the kind of place you want to entrust your child's development? The unprofessional manner in which the owner, the director, and the teachers all combined their efforts in order to denigrate me, especially on a public forum, is very concerning: a company was unable to handle criticism, and in turn, publicly shamed me as a parent.
