I would give this spot a 5 star rating for their prices, friendly staff and variety of flavors, however, I only got to try 2! They have a 1 sample per person rule! that they are pretty stern with. So me and my partner each shared each other's samples. I was surprised by this given the many flavors they have and their competitor Ralph's allows you to try and many as you'd like. Working with what we tried we went for those 2 options. We were then told that we couldn't get more than 1 flavor, no matter what size you ordered lol. This was again very surprising given that it's a popular ice shop known for their menu but have no chance at experiencing all but 1 flavor at a time (unless you pay for 2 separate ice's I was also informed.) They charge $1 for an insulated bag to take your ice's to go, since they don't use styrofoam cups as Ralph's does. The Mango and Coconut for what it's worth were very fresh and enjoyable. Visited Lemon Ice King while in NYC with my mother-in-law, who grew up in the area. I never would've ended up there on my own, so I'm glad it worked out that way! You really can't go wrong here. This is the place to get Italian ice. My family would go here when I was a child and we would go back on visits. You cannot mix flavors so I got 2 smalls. My favorite flavors are vanilla chip and chocolate. These are hard to find flavors so it is a special treat to get them. The service is fast and friendly. The ice was as good as ever. After reading these Yelp reviews, I was still undecided what flavor to get due to the large selection. It was a last minute decision to choose the mango flavored Italian ice after reading the whole list in 10 seconds.
