The stadium was built and opened in South Bend in 1987, and after a series of name and ownership changes, became the South Bend Cubs in 2015. It holds over 10,000 spectators as well, making it good for outdoor concerts. I especially LOVE that they saved an old synagogue from demolition and spent 1 million dollars on renovating it to their Club Store. The building was actually designated as a National Register of Historic Places in 2013. A short film about the renovation of the synagogue won an Emmy in 2013. The South Bend Cubs didn't win the game on the day I visited the stadium in September 2026 but it was still a good time. I do wish that the stadium offered more diverse food options (I mean, I couldn'tfind coffee or tea anywhere!), kept better care of their bathrooms, and had more places with shade on the very sunny day I went. But it's minor leagues so there's that.

The game activities are fun and they constantly keep the crowd going with games and music and all kinds of Activities. The field is beautiful and the game was awesome. In addition, there is tons of food and drink throughout the stadium. An area for kids to play, shops to go to, bars, activities and concessions. All kinds of things like Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches, barbecue sandwiches, popcorn, hotdog, burgers, pretzels. All kinds of baseball food. The baseball was great, the crowds were great, the whole experience was great.

The Studebaker National Museum consists of three floors that display everything from carriages, wagons, automobiles, "sleighs", military vehicles and trucks. The first thing I noticed when we entered the museum was how well the air conditioning worked! It was at least 95 degrees when we arrived. We bought tickets to both the Studebaker and History Museum (which included a tour of the Oliver Mansion adjacent to the museum). I was amazed to learn the earliest Studebaker automobiles were electric and had an approximate 70 mile range. I tried to learn how charging was accomplished but was unable to. There was a display of carriages along with some presidential carriages including the one that transported Abraham Lincoln to the Ford Theater the night of his assassination. Of huge interest was seeing the evolution of automotive design through the years. It could be argued that many cars today look alike. That certainly was not the case 50 or more years ago. Studebaker manufacturing sites were in South Bend, Detroit, Chicago and Hamilton Ontario with the last car coming off the assembly line in in 1966. This was an excellent way to spend a few hours. The museum also includes a gift shop and snack bar.

Great history of the Studebaker company which started with wagons, became the largest auto company…read morein the U.S. prior to World War I - and stayed strong and viable until the early 1960s - going under in 1966. 3 levels of vehicles from all eras complete with signage and history. Studebaker was the largest employer in the area for decades. It is hard now to realize that they were as well known a hundred years ago as GM or Toyota would be today. Very well restored. Takes about 90 minutes to see it all on average.

Fortunately we arrived at the right time as there are only two tours per day. We had ample time to tour the Studebaker Museum and then joined the mansion tour. The mansion has 38 rooms and was built in 1895-96 and was beautifully finished in almost every part. J. D. Oliver was president of the Oliver Chilled Plow Works and grew the company into one of the largest in the world in the late 1800's. The home was called, "Copshaholm" which was the name of the Scottish village the Olivers were from. Of interest to me was the degree of finish quality especially the woodwork. The home remained totally furnished which from my perspective was nice as many tours we've been on featured large, empty rooms. Despite the home being so old, there was a pretty good air handling system that even on this brutally hot day, we remained comfortable. After visiting the Studebaker and History Museums, we hit a favorite restaurant before driving home. All in all a very good day.

When you come in, you go to the right and spend time going through a large room that takes about 45 minutes to cover. Then you go downstairs right below and there's a winding path that takes another 45 minutes. Right outside that winding path is a sizable children's play area where small kids can go "back in time". When returning to the main floor, there are a few exhibits as you head to the carriage house. You can add a guided tour of the Oliver Mansion. Yet, those tours are only at 1:00 and 2:00 as I type. So plan accordingly. We found the museum very enlightening. We were able to take the tour, which gave a great sense for the richest people in South Bend from over 100 years ago - but it's not a show-stopper by any means if you don't do it and just do the main museum. They've got a lot of period exhibits with great artifacts and signage.

Wow. That is about all I can say. We have passed this museum many times on our way to the airport,…read morebut something about today pulled us to stop and visit. I am grateful we did. This place holds so many memories, pieces of history and moments in time that caused me to take pause. Reflecting on the past helps us all work towards a better future and I am so thankful this museum was curated to hold these memories for us to come and see. Would not suggest Tymm Nelson as your DJ for your wedding. Disappointed is an understatement. First…read moreoff I just should have known better. It took literally months for him to give us a contract which was super generic. That should have been my first sign. We did meet with him prior to the wedding about 3 weeks before hand to go over the time line. He was very nice and seemed to be very personable. We told him specific songs that we did not want played. Told him the order of the ceremony, what songs to be played and so forth. We had very very simple requests. There were 4 songs to be played on loop while guests were being seated and while parents/grandparents were seated. Then there was 1 song to be played on repeat for the bridesmaids to walk down to and then the bride. That is not what happened. At the wedding he played the bridal party song early and we all noticed so we went to him right away and said you played it way too early make sure it's on repeat. The bridal party had music and then the bride only made it about a quarter of the way down the isle and then there was no music. Dead silent. Incredibly awkward to walk down a field with no music having 100+ people looking at you. He should have restarted the song or played something. Once the bride was to the front and the pastor started talking he randomly started playing music and shut if off right away. Needless to say as a bride I was really upset. Walking down the isle is your grand entrance and instead of feeling like you have this great memory with the music in the background it was just instead incredibly ackward. For the reception there were MULTIPLE times were no music was played and it was just dead ackward silence like right after speeches or after a song. As stated before we had songs that we said please do not at all play this type of music and well hearing "the sweat run down my balls" with your pastor right there is not exactly the music you want played. The songs we did request he did not play. At about 15 minutes before ending he came to us and said if you want me to play more you need to pay more. We said yes we would like to have another half hour but I asked if I could speak with him. When I talked to him about the ceremony he got nasty and defensive. Said that it wasn't his fault that I had no music to walk down the isle to. I said you are a professional and I am a bride walking down the isle. You should have done something. And at the very least apologize. He was just super unprofessional and even at the end didn't play our closing song instead he called my husband by the wrong name and had us stand in the middle of a circle while people danced around us. Cute for about the first 45 seconds but to do that for a few minute long song when you have given no heads up to the bride and groom is just not ok. Honestly I had the absolute best day of my life minus having Tymm as the DJ. His pricing is great but his service is sub par. I would not suggest him to anyone. Making the mistake at the ceremony can happen to anyone but it is how you handle yourself with your customers that makes the difference. He had multiple ways he could have made things right for ruining part of the ceremony. I would highly suggest to steer clear of hiring him.

He did an unbelievably great job of keeping our wedding flowing. The music selection and uplighting was fantastic! He even took initiative to be the host for our wedding game.
