I've been to the Licking in Miami and this wasn't the same. The vibe is not as fun and upbeat. The music was somewhat quiet. The restaurant itself was very new and clean. The servers honestly took forever to come back to the table and only checked on us once other than to bring the food. I wasn't extremely impressed with the fried lobster bites. I know conch is supposed to be a little chewy but even the batter was just NOT it. Batter wasn't even crunchy. My sides were the green beans and collard greens and they were SO salty! The only thing I finished was the broccoli. My bfs green beans tasted different and not salty like mines but he is pretty sure both orders came from canned veggies. Check your bank account before leaving! The server Daniel charged me for my sisters food $28.84 and charged me for her food $59.84. When I got home I checked my account and noticed I was charged for My order even though he charged her card for my order and her order. Then once the charges posted I noticed he changed the amount to $8 more $36.84. When I told him what happened the next day he said if the charge didn't reverse he would send me the money personally. Also, it wasn't hot and that's disappointing. The greens were quite salty and no bread was given to sop up all the pot-likker they are served with. The Mac and cheese was missing another cheese and gave off a sweetness. I'm not sure where that came from. The amount of food was fine, but it is pricey, so be aware. We didn't try dessert because we didn't want to be disappointed again. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had ever in life. Food was terrible. Our server was nice but she was handling like every table in the restaurant and also low key cooking. I had the lobster mac and cheese. The lobster was old and had a funky smell to it. I couldn't eat it. Still paid $43 for it. Snapper tasted like nothing, grits tasted like nothing. Only thing decent was the green beans and yams. They have alcohol on the menu but they don't have a liquor license We waited almost 3 hours for the food. They were out of ranch and blue cheese but didn't tell us until the food was already 2 hours late. They were out of waffles but didn't tell us until the food was 2 hours late. In the area as I had an appointment for a fitting at a nearby bridal shop. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and Larry had the chicken croissant. Both came with fries. We also ordered a slice of red velvet cake to share. Food took a little while to be delivered so we had ask for to go containers when our food was brought out. She quickly brought the containers and the cake to go. I had time to eat about half my quesadilla before I needed to eat and it was really good. Larry decided to stay and finish his food while I went to my appointment. He said his sandwich was good also. The cake was good but had an almond flavor that I wasn't expecting.
