Sweet BBQ Chicken Wings (6 Pieces)- Cut Wings, Mac and cheese, yellow rice, Fried Catfish, cornbread, potato salad, and candied yams

We absolutely loved eating here! The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and even gave us cards to play while we waited for our food. It feels so homey, and honestly like I was eating at a friends house. The food was literally the best soul food we've ever had. They have so many awards and decorations and they deserve all of it!! If we lived in Orlando, we'd be regulars. Eating here one more time before going home!

    Chitterlings Dinner

Stopped in at Nikki's Place to grab some dinner on my way home from work! It was a little out of the way but for good food there's no such thing as too far to go! I called my order ahead of time so it was being boxed up by the time I arrived. The girl at the front was friendly and helpful and even provided me with information for holiday ordering! I ordered the chitterlings dinner, and the smother steak dinner with collards and green beans. I haven't had chitterlings since I've been in FL so it was a nice surprise to number one find a place that sells them, and number two cooks them correctly! They give you so much food here that I had dinner for a few days! If you need your soul food fix you needn't look further than Nikki's! The family vibe and the food will have you wanting to come back for more!

Had another great experience with food from this soul food restaurant. Liver and onions was so well seasoned and tender. Grits had great flavor and texture. Fried pork chop was delicious! Love the batter they use. Fried chicken and waffles were tasty as well.

Nikki's place is definitely a staple in the neighborhood! Walking in you could tell the community supports this restaurant and I love that! For my drink I ordered the Flop which is fruit punch and sweet tea mixed. Idk if my waitress named it that but it was good!! I did order a sweet potato pie to come out before my meal but it did not arrive until midway through my meal so I ate that later. The flavor was good, but I probably would not order it again. I ordered a veggie plate for my main meal which comes with 3 sides and I added a 4th. I initially got the candied yams, Mac and cheese and greens with a side of black eyed peas. Everything was so good EXCEPT those black eyed peas, they had a sour flavor like they were cooked with a vinegar or lemon juice and I did not like that flavor at all. I ended up swapping them for another bowl of greens. The inside decor is so down home, pics on the wall, old school ordering counter etc. I will return to try some other items when I'm in the Orlando area.

Best baked white chicken and yellow rice and green beans. Love it. Hands down to the chef who made my meal. Blessed the beautiful people who work at Nikki's Place. Great service. Food was so good. Thanks so much.

Catfish Fish and Shrimp Dinner with yams and greens

Probably the best fried catfish and shrimp I've ever had. The batter is perfectly light and crunchy. The greens were full of flavor and my favorite side. Yams were delicious too but outshined by those greens. They have limited space inside but the waitress was so polite and made sure I had everything I needed despite being busy. People were coming in and out for takeout orders so you know the food is good. Banana pudding was nostalgic and a nice way to end the meal.

Growing up in the south and moving to Orlando I really missed southern food and this place had everything on their menu. The food was seasoned well and the dessert was good also. Service was good.

When we 1st walked in we were asked if we would be dining in or taking out. The waitress was standing at the front of the building behind the counter. We said dining in and proceeded to have a seat without being told any further instruction. After a few minutes of no one bringing us any menus I looked around and saw some menus behind us so I grabbed a couple so we can start seeing what they had being that it was our first time there. Just as I grabbed the menus and realized that they were lunch menus the waitress came and grabbed the menus out of our hands and proceeded to tell us that we weren't raised right and that we didn't have patience. At that point my wife and I looked at each other and started to walk out because of the rude comments. We assumed that was her way of joking with customers but as first timers that wasn't a good impression. We decided to stick it out and support a black owned business. After that things were better and she was a lot more courteous. The food was pretty good. I had the smothered porkchop with grits and eggs. My wife had the sausage link breakfast. We also had a side of the fried chicken wings.

Fried pork chops, mac n cheese and collard greens. Great flavor, 8/10
    Crystal C.

Not sure why the bad reviews but the mac n cheese was creamy and full of cheese. First time having fried pork chops like that and they were so flavorful, thin but delicious. Wish they had fried chicken but all they have is wings which weren't the best but they were ok, i prefer a crispy leg or thigh. The collard greens were way too watery in my plate, no smoked turkey in it so they were pretty regular tasting. The black eyed peas were super good. The gravy they put on the rice I'm not a fan of but I understand thats how most of smothered gravies taste like. The sweet potato was very good. The corn bread was dry, not good, crumbly. I will be ordering again to try different things.

It's a large open space, which means it can get loud, but not overly so. Our waiter referred to all the women as "mama", saying "that's how they do it in the south". Not sure that's a great approach, but I appreciated the effort at being friendly. Overall rating: Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 3/5

Our server Brett was amazing and made the whole experience even better. We started with the gator bites, and for the main dishes we had the shrimp & andouille cheese grits and a po' boy sandwich with slow-cooked red beans and rice. The mains were absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and seasoned perfectly. For dessert we had the beignets, and they were sweet, flaky, and full of flavor. The perfect ending to the meal. To drink we had the Hurricane and the Hemingway. The drinks were definitely strong, but absolutely worth it. The music, atmosphere, and overall energy really reminded me of New Orleans culture. It's an elevated Cajun experience, starting with the debris spring rolls, pot roast and manchego cheese fried to crisp perfection in an egg roll with a delicious beef gravy for dipping. Their hurricane is strong and authentic. Jazz music flows through the restaurant and everywhere you look has color, glitz and glam! You haven't had shrimp and grits til you've had them as grit cakes, get the shrimp and grit cake: Monica style, if you don't like spice, maybe don't get it but it's delicious otherwise. The combination of the crunchy fried exterior and the creamy grits inside is such a yummy experience. Lastly, you have to get beignets and an espresso martini. As a beignet obsessed person, it pains me to say that their bread pudding is the superior dessert. I'm not a HUGE fan of the croissant flaky style of beignet that's become the norm for most places, but that's what they have here. I'd much prefer the classic beignet with the pocket of air in the middle. But otherwise they're still amazing and the espresso martini is delicious. Sarah B was an efficient and friendly waitress! Let's focus on the positives first: the atmosphere is incredibly fun and the live music Saturday night was a perfect touch at the bar. There were plenty of fun activities for the kids and there was an all-you-can-eat buffet for the kids with fried chicken and shrimp, macaroni and cheese, fries, and red velvet cupcakes. $25 is a deal if your child would chow down on shrimp, but it might not be a great deal if your child is usually full after four bites. Our server was absolutely fantastic, friendly and very attentive. We started off the dinner with some fantastic deviled eggs and a lemon cello cocktail. I ordered the shrimp and grits and was really disappointed with the tiny, overcooked shrimp and crawfish that accompanied the slightly bland grits. The shrimp on the kids buffet was at least four times larger than the sad little shrimp in my dish. I think the sausage was cut into smaller chunks just so it wouldn't be so obvious how small the shrimp was. My husband didn't love his heirloom tomato salad and said the Wagyu appetizer was disgusting. Dessert was mediocre. The macarons that accompanied my crème brûlée were stale and chewy. This is a fun spot for a drink and appetizer, but I would skip eating dinner at Highball & Harvest.
