Now that the world is slowly coming back to life, I decided to join The Lifestyle Center as soon as it opened following an exceptionally long close. The Lifestyle Center is the only medically based fitness facility in the area and is a member of the Medical Fitness Association and is equipped for handling the different fitness needs of its members. There is an abundance of amenities available at TLC which includes 2 indoor pools, 3 cardio theaters, indoor track, saunas, and rock wall. There are 3 locker rooms, which includes a family locker room. Additional services available include personal training, childcare, massage, and cryotherapy. Currently, not all amenities and services are available and will be phased in due to potential health and safety concerns. There are a variety of membership options available that require a one-year commitment. I have selected the three-month Jump Start Fitness Membership for $199. Addition three-month periods can be purchased for $165. This membership works well for me because I do not exactly know how long I will be staying in the area. I went to Lifestyles today to supplement my Physical Therapy. I used the lap pools tread mills. The ability to walk "normally" again is a wonderful feeling. Place looks good when you first walk in. Huge rock climbing wall. Snacks,food,water& energy drinks in vending mach. The on-site food deli a bit expensive for what you get, so I leave here starving 2-3 times weekly. Average 2 hours per visit, walking track, working out & sweating. Great gym, I'm a college swimmer, they have lots of free weights, machines, a track, a rock wall, a decent pool, and a basketball/volleyball court. The employees are nice, and the gym goers are just as good. Do be prepared the locker rooms to be shameless, but if you mind your own business and can ignore a few naked people as they change or enter the hot tub, you'll be fine. I think the only thing that could use some improvements is some of the equipment and the pool, but I think that's just a funding issue. Lifestyle fitness center is a very good gym for working out, different activities for all ages. They have a pool for swimming or low impact workouts. A 1/10 mile track for walking or running, weight machines, free weights for workouts. Treadmills, bikes, rowing, climbing, olipical machines. We love the Lifestyle Center! My daughter has been taking swim lessons, group and private, for over a year here. Everyone is so kind and helpful, we've never had a bad experience. The equipment is a little older, which is the reason for 4 stars, but everything is kept clean and in good working order. Definitely recommend the Lifestyle Center! *For parents: We use the daycare facility there often, and the ladies working there are kind and attentive to the kids. This is by far the best gym in visalia. The staff is helpful. People here aren't wearing crazy clothes or all on steroids. The local hospital runs it so heathy living is a major Focus. I'm so confused about why this gym it's so pricey, but let's start with their policies. They are very strict with the use of cellphones inside the premises, which is ridiculous, considering almost everyone uses their phone to track workouts or play music on their headphones, we also text or talk on the phone inside the dressing rooms so I don't understand what the big deal is. Another thing I can't seem to understand is why are people allowed to be completely naked in the hot tubs and the dressing rooms in general when there's underage people around?? I've witnessed this in the girls' dressing room, and my boyfriend had an even worse experience with two naked older men making out in the hot tub, completely naked. Another big issue is how extremely close together the machines are to each other, there's times where you can't use certain machines if someone is walking by without accidentally hitting them because of how crowded it is. Even cheaper gyms have more space. read more

In April of 2018 I joined Lifestyles. Later last year my grandchildren asked me to join the gym they are members of. As I was instructed, I waited until this April to cancel my membership with Lifestyles. When I received my cancellation paperwork, they billed for April 2019 and also charged me an annual "Facility Fee." I asked why I was being billed an annual fee and the staff member told me she was required to. I told her I would not be using the facility so why was I billed for it. She went and asked her supervisor and was instructed to bill me the annual fee even though I was terminating membership. Very poor business from my perception. They basically charged me $40 to stop my membership. read more

I enjoy this gym (as much as anyone can actually ENJOY a gym). I don't feel like I have to be super athletic to use any of the machines because there are people from all walks of life here. I come to this gym about 3+ times a week and mainly use the elliptical & treadmill, as well as do the spin circuit classes and circuit strength classes. I have been to all of the different times these classes are offered and all of the instructors are amazing and give great workouts! All of the employees at this gym are very nice and helpful and always say "hi" and "bye" when you come and go. The reason I am giving this place 4 out of 5 stars is because it is often difficult to find the spray bottles to clean the machines after working out. I always look around for the spray bottle to clean my machine after using it, but it makes me wonder who else does. I've also noticed that the weights in the fitness rooms are SUPER gross and dirty and I am pretty sure they never get cleaned. I believe that if there were more spray bottles placed throughout the entire gym (including in the group rooms), the people using the weights would clean them more. read more

The Lifestyle Center is a great gym for full body workouts, whether you want to do some cardio, strength training, aquatic aerobics, or take some classes. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. There's a desk area on the second floor where you can go to to ask a staff member about workout equipments. When leaving, whoever is at the front desk downstairs always says, "Goodbye." Yes, these may be simple things, but I appreciate good service. The gym is two stories and has many amenities. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice a rock climbing wall. Prior to using it, you must attend an orientation, which occurs on the first Saturday of the month. There's a heated lap pool, heated aquatic aerobics pool, a jacuzzi, locker rooms, day use lockers, a running track, a basketball/volleyball gym, two aerobic class rooms, and plenty of machines. There are so many machines that I tend to get overwhelmed. At least there's always something to do! Another thing I love is that they provide towels. Just be sure to return them in one of the hampers designated for soiled towels. There is also childcare, a cafe, and a pro shop. I have been a member of this gym for about half a year now and no complaints so far. The building is definitely a hospital wing turned gym which is kind of neat. The management and staff are super nice and so are the people that workout here. No Jerks that judge you if it's your first time in a gym. Facility is well-kept, free towel service and hand sanitizer everywhere. They have a few exercise rooms, one of them even has punching bags. FYI, you need to bring your own lock for the lockers. The price per month is average for the area. Plenty of parking around the building. This may sound weird because it doesn't have a super pumped vibe (metroflex, iron addicts), the equipment isn't the newest or best (golds or city sports). This sentence may have never been spoken before. I'm looking forward to going back to the Fresno area. Why is this gym so sweet? It is super fun. It made me look forward to each muscle as an exercise that was both nostalgic and slightly different than how I normally operate. So let's break that down. Vibe. I normally go to the gym by myself, so I normally like to see a few powerlifters, a handful of young bros, some soccer moms, all the cliches. Those were all here. But, the equipment was broken up into pod areas so, so were those cliques. I saw a soccer mom pressing decent weight dumb bells. I saw married couples on stair climbers. I didn't see the 6 bros all hogging all the squat and power racks and benches. This place doesn't have the spots in the gym where it feels like merging onto a freeway off ramp just to get to a power rack or cables for chest. Super nice. Equipment. The equipment quality is acceptable. It's not full of hammerstrength plate loaders or new precor bikes or life fitness equipment. However, there is a ridiculous eclectic variety to every muscle worked. It was fun to hit the weights with such a variety of equipment. It took me out of my comfort zone, but in a refreshing way. Amenities. The site is really a part of the community based off the volume of people using every part of the gym. There is free WiFi. Always nice. It had a full locker room. Bathrooms were a little cramped, but got the job done. There was this awesome, deep hot tub in the locker rooms. Fun? The setup for the weights was fun, like schoolyard playground fun. All the weights are on the 2nd floor, which overlooks the first floor. There is an indoor track on the 2nd floor, double fun for walking versus getting warmed up (getting the preworkout going) on a bike or treadmill. But best of all, on that track, in various corners, are hidden little pockets of equipment. In one corner, there was around five sets of an benches and on the other side of the track was four pieces of legs, including a leg press. This gym is like Winchester mystery house, but filled with iron. This gym does not have a wet or dry sauna, but it has a sweet hot tub in the locker rooms. I was very excited to sign up here however the staff is very rude and not helpful at all. I've gone several times to try and sign up and it seems there is never anyone available. I'm constantly told to come back on certain days and when I do, it's a 3 hr wait or again I'm told to come back on another day. The last time I attempted to sign up when I tried to leave, the staff rudely yelled at me to come back and insisted that I come in on a specific day yet again. It seems this is a never ending cycle and a waste of time. The lady then gave me a card and asked if I would be back I said no and to have a good rest of the day and she then yelled at me again to give her back the card as I was trying to leave for the third time. I advise that the staff should be retrained on their customer service skills or make it available for new members to sign up online since there seems to be a lack of staff. read more

i had enjoyed going there until it was closed recently due to the corona virus. i do not like that it takes them DAYS to fix a machine that is broken when i feel i am paying an arm and a leg to workout there. my sister informed me that they are raising their rates this year and if that is the case i think i will need to look for a new place in town. if they do not then i will stay there because i like the "crowd" that works out in the club. i have enjoyed the recipes they have had this month and am hoping to try them in the near future. read more

I unexpectedly had to move out of the area that Lifestyles services (they claim a 25 mile radius) and went in to cancel my membership as I would no longer be in the state and be able to use the gym. Initially they refused to accept my cancellation because they wanted me to show them mail delivered to my new address... which is clear across the country. How was I to do this exactly? Eventually, we found a way around that and I went back in to cancel again a few days later. I paid the early termination fee, as I expected to for canceling early, but I was quite annoyed when they couldn't get my final month's payment straight. I was told one amount, which made sense and I was prepared to pay, but then they got in touch with me after I moved and demanded a second, much higher amount, stating that what the prior two membership reps I'd spoken to had said was incorrect. After trying to pay for a long distance move, the last thing I need is some gym trying to gouge me for even more money when they've already extracted quite a bit. After some negotiation, they lowered their new demand by a whole $7, which was still a good $22 higher than what they originally told me would be my final payment. It seems that this gym not only helps you lose weight, it also helps you lighten your wallet. While the facility itself is decent, its pretty crowded. In Shape, a competing gym also located in town, offers a far better experience. And In Shape never tried to rip me off. read more

She was upbeat the entire class and had a good playlist. I manage a spin studio in Palm Springs and I'm also a certified spin instructor and she made me work!!! My husband and I have belonged to The Lifestyle Center for at least 15 years. It is always clean and we have never encountered a disgruntled employee or one that was rude to us. They are great to work with. Sometimes equipment does breakdown, just like cars that have to be fixed. That is to be expected with constant use. Like any gym, they have their busy times where it may be more crowded than I'd care for, but that usually is a sign of a gym where people want to workout. Their hours of operation are very good as they open early and close late. We will be clients of this gym for a very long time. read more

Very dissapointed with the membership department. Poor communication about membership cancelation policies. Be aware that you have to give a written 30 day notice in order to cancel your membership. Just one more way they try to squeeze you for as much money as possible. This information was not relayed to us when we called in to find out what we had to do to cancel our frozen membership. The only thing the membership department representative told us was that we could call in to cancel our membership.. When we decided to cancel and called in the story had changed. Amenities and equipment are average. Aquatic classes are irritating as they often take up too many lanes for the size of the classes thereby limiting the amount of available lanes left for people just wanting to do lap swim. The remaining staff are friendly. It's a shame that Visalia has very limited options when it comes to gyms. I wish GB3 would expand to the South Valley. read more
