We chatted with Kyle the owner who has intimate knowledge of 80% of the games in the store, having played them at least once. My husband bought the newest version of Horrified which is a series of cooperative games in which you are vanquishing monsters and saving villagers, this one is Dungeons and Dragons themed. Meanwhile, I talked with Andrew, a game enthusiast who had just purchased a huge game box with cards and dragon figures and was learning how to play it. Tuesdays are game nights there for people looking to play board games with a group. There are several tables for that purpose, and so many games for single players, duos, and larger groups. Super fun store!

After losing the Game Haus to post-pandemic fallout, there's been a sense of loss in the gaming…read morecommunity. Sure, it was pretty far away (Glendale) from Riverside, but I always enjoyed the trek and good times. Fortunately, Kyle, opened the Game Nights Cafe about 1.5 years ago as of this writing (01/01/2025), and the two-level shop and gamespace provides games to purchase, an impressive library of games to play in-house, and necessary hobby materials, such as Citadel paint, brushes, tools, and even a nifty airbrush set for about $70. After two visits here I'm Reviewing the shop, setting, atmosphere, and special New Year's Eve event. First, my long-time gaming buddy happened upon the store while antique shopping across the street. While Gameology in Upland has been our go-to, the initial appeal was the later hours of operation, especially on Sundays, the day we typically line up. There's a game cover fee, a reasonable $6 per player and good for the entire day. Otherwise, as Kyle mentioned to me, people would stay all day and not even purchase anything. Purchases, however, do offset the cover charge. The basement is where the bright track lights make the full-lenghth space inviting. Many hundreds of games line one wall. All are available for anyone wanting to play. And a significant number of tables and comfortable chairs are another draw. There's also a sizeable space upstairs adjacent to the retail area for games. Kyle invited us to come back for New Year's Eve for food, beverages, and a generous playtime that surpassed 2am. For $40 I was down, especially when I saw how much food was provided. A fullscale Middle Eastern feast, as well as charcuterie, sides, and desserts. Wow! The crowd was also fun and my group quickly befriended another and we played lots of fun games that could support 6 players, including Heat, Acquire, and Inca Gold. All three were in the extensive library previously referenced. In short, they host many events for Magic the Gathering (MTG), Dungeons and Dragons, open play nights, and hopefully more NYE celebrations. Finally, they also have a lot of games and things marked down for quick sales, so consider browsing. Not far away is the Glass House, and somewhere close by is Zoink Records.

The funny thing is there are actually closer card shops to us, but we still choose to make the drive here because the prices are consistently better. I've compared them against a couple of other local shops and even many vendors at Frank & Sons, and A&N usually comes out ahead. What really stood out during our latest visit was how fair they were with store credit. I brought in some cards from my personal collection that I was willing to part with, and they offered a value that felt reasonable and honest. That store credit quickly turned into Pokémon packs for the kids, which immediately made their day. Seeing my kids walk out of the store excited and holding their new haul reminded me why we keep coming back. Good prices, fair trade values, and a family friendly experience go a long way. We'll be back once we've worked our way through this stack of packs.

Why would they go though all that work to make a few extra dollars when if they do that they would not have a business. Ripping you off for a few dollars a pack is not the business model. Chances are, Desiree, your son doesn't know what comes with what set. The owner here is a stand up guy. We have been coming here for years and he's always been pleasant to deal with , and very fair. They have so much variety here , whether it's sports cards , pokemon , or other collectibles. I highly recommend.

First time coming here for my first One Piece TCG prerelease, and it was a complete mess. I arrived…read more10 minutes before the scheduled start time with a confirmed "successful" status in the Bandai TCG app. When I reached the front of the line, the owner turned us away, claiming the event was full. He tried to blame us for being late (even though we were on-time) claiming he told "everyone" to show up early. He then admitted he gave our reserved spots to those who showed up much earlier and weren't "successful". I called the store prior to the event to get update and I was told to check their Discord for announcements, but they never posted a single detail about the event schedule or early arrival expectations. We pointed out that we were on time and properly registered through the official app. It was our first pre-release event and we didn't know you had to arrive an entire hour early to wait in line (according to him). He ignore what we were saying and walked away. He returned a few minutes later with asking if we were "done whining" so he could just sell us the prerelease kit to get us to leave. I didn't want to leave empty handed after driving far, so I bought the kit and even apologized for making him upset and he completely ignored me. The owner is an incredibly stubborn, unprofessional man-child who refuses to follow Bandai's official tournament guidelines or listen to reason. I've already filed a formal complaint with Bandai so hopefully they lose their official store status and event privileges. Save yourself the headache and support a local game shop that actually respects its players and basic communication. Edit to reply to owner: Raul, you were the one who threw a tantrum when called out for not following Bandai's rules. I apologized for merely telling you the truth, an apology you didn't even deserve. Yet, you completely ignored it because you couldn't handle being wrong. Of course I'm writing a negative review; you are a terrible person. Going back to edit your response with a petty jab only proves the point. Take a look at your store's negative reviews. Every single one points directly to YOU and your toxic behavior. Good luck getting allocation later on!
