50 minutes after I placed my to go order, my food was ready. The fish was mediocre and the fries were only half cooked and inedible.

I was very pleased with the lighthouse and I don't normally give out four-star ratings and did not expect to do it here. I don't like buffets, but I couldn't help myself when I took a look at it. They had Plaths smoked pork chops on the buffet and if you're from northern Michigan, you know what those are. Delicious. But they also had fried shrimp and fried fish and pot roast all of which were surprisingly good The mashed potatoes were absolutely homemade I was very surprised and pleasantly pleased with my meal. The server was absolutely delightful And the restaurant was very clean with the exception of a cobweb by the front door, which considering how nice everything else was I'm inclined to overlook. read more

We were up in Rodger's city before Memorial Day. It was pretty quiet. After a stop at Plaths we were told about the lighthouse restaurant. It's attached to a bowling alley and the restaurant is to the left after you enter. The bowling alley was not opened yet. The waiter was friendly, some Whitney Houston was playing, and their was some fun singing by the staff. I had a French dip sandwich. For a nominal fee I was able to get a salad and some waffle fries. They also had malt vinegar - bonus- for the fries of course. Good meal, great service, and very value priced! Would recommend. read more

The Lighthouse Restaurant is a great place to eat. 12/8/2023 was our first visit and there was a Fried Fish Buffet that included Plath ham. The fish and shrimp were delicious. I was particularly happy to find real mashed potatoes on the buffet line. For $12.99, this buffet is a steal! Service was excellent! Our waitress was most pleasant. I would consider this restaurant to be on the large side with par and considerable kitchen space. It's directly attached to the bowling alley next door. read more

It's honestly been a few months since we went here but I can't recommend this place enough. Me and the family spent a week up there back in the summer and hit up this place at least twice. The pizzas are delicious. The fish and chips were the freaking bomb. The fried mushrooms were perfect. The cheese bread was that really on point cheesy, with that deep dish appeal. The cheese curds (or whatever they're called) ... oh man. Seriously, we're talking about them tonight and wish we were up there. read more

We ordered the Lighthouse Special pizza & a personal 7" pan pizza. Both were very good. We had apps of the battered mushrooms & cheddar cheese nuggets, both also very good. It's definitely a local hangout, but the bartender was very attentive. There's not much to choose from as far as restaurants go here, but I'd highly suggest it. read more

Lake perch was perfect, took the exact amount of time they said it would (we got take out) and the price was SO reasonable.

We stopped here for an early lunch as we were driving through town. We actually had to wait for the doors to be unlocked right at 11. The desserts in the display case looked so good, we decided to just split a burger. The staff was so nice, they created two plates splitting the burger and chips and even the pickle. The cheese burger was okay, nothing special, but also not a plank of unknown origin. Our drinks were refilled through out the meal, then we enjoyed splitting a Coconut Cream Pie. . .yum. read more

Waited at the front to be seated. After standing there, with no one asking us, we asked, & lady said you can seat yourself. No where did it indicate to seat yourself. Finally after sitting & waiting for over 15 min, we again asked to be waited on. Finally he took our order reluctantly. Placed our order. We ordered fried mushroom app, my husband ordered a pizza, I ordered shrimp dinner, salad bake potato. Pizza came out first after 15 to 20 min. Finally after he ate 2 pieces of pizza asked about my salad & he hurried & got it. Mushrooms came out 15 min later.(appetizer) my shrimp dinner came out about 40 min later. Very poor service! If you are looking for good other than pizza you might want to skip, our mushroom and pretzel appetizer were not very good but the pizza and ambiance saved this place. Camping up north, stopped here for a late lunch. Had the classic hamburger with curly fries, which was quite good! What stole the show was the cheese bread!! Casual dinner with the family is always a good thing. The Lighthouse Restaurant was a great meeting place for us to chat and enjoy. Dawn was able to put together tables so 12 of us could all eat together. She was very accommodating to our large group. She also provided us with friendly and attentive service for a lovely meal. Casual dinner means we were all in the mood for pizza. Hawaiian pizza was on the menu for a solid option. The pizza was covered generously in toppings. They were brought to the table piping hot and ready to indulge. The crust wasn't overly thick or thin. Plus it was greasy which was a bonus. We also ordered cheese bread for more carbs. Solid lunch buffet but the highlight of the lighthouse is their pizza. This is the go to place for take out pizza in Rogers City, not just because it's the only one downtown. The crust is fluffy and yummy and there's never too much sauce. The service is quick and the staff are nice. Still good pizza, depends on the day and who is cooking though. Sometimes really good, sometimes "meh" but overall more really good days than "meh" days. The buffet on Sunday needs to change. It's been the same stuff for years now. Can we change things up? The lunch buffet has some changes, i.e. polish, hot sandwiches, Italian, etc... But the Sunday- ALWAYS the same. I have been here in Rogers City for business just about a week and continue to go back to this place purely out of convenience. The staff is incredibly friendly but the service is incredibly slow, probably because the don't have enough staff. The burgers, whitefish and pizza are your best bet. Some meals come with the soup and salad bar but, don't expect much. I tried the "famous pork chops". I don't know what makes them famous unless it's because they are so bad. I LOVE the Light House! Great family restaurant/ neighborhood bar/ bowling alley atmosphere all wrapped into one. The food is really good I recommend the French dip sandwich, the bar on Fridays because they have salad, soup, roast beef, mashed potatoes, fish, shrimp and all the fixings, and the pizza is good to. Absolutely a must stop in at when you are in Rogers city. This was our first time in the city and we just kinda chose a hole-in-the-wall type of place and boy did they deliver. Our waitress was so incredibly sweet and funny, gave us directions to a lighthouse in the area and was just friendly. We were here to get a snack as it was mid day, but their portions kept us full till after dinner and beyond. A good item you must try is the lighthouse original cheese bread. This restaurant is very mediocre. The best thing about the restaurant is the decor, which is obviously lighthouse themed, and is very beautiful. The food and service, however, was poor. The waitress was nice, but very old. We had to wait a while to pay, because there was nobody at the counter, and our waitress was nowhere to be found. The food I got was pizza, and it tasted like it was a frozen pizza that you could get at any grocery store, except it was extremely doughy. Decent pizza. Mediocre dinner buffet. They only had two pizzas out and they had gross toppings. Lasagna was good. Meatballs are good. Alfredo sauce was majorly lacking flavor. Service was okay. I came here from out of town with my parents and was very happy with the restaurant. I had a pan pizza and my parents had fish and chips; both of which were delicious. The food came quickly and the server stopped by often to check on us, and was quick with the drink refills, which I appreciate. I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in town. read more
