I don't think Justin was very helpful. I wouldn't recommend The Listening Stack. Justin didn't listen to me and my needs.

It was clear he did not believe me. It was so clear he did not believe me that he literally told me that he "could tell if I was lying" while performing tests to see if I get vertigo from movement. He acted shocked and entirely unprofessional whe I listed my medication, including an adhd medicine. I left crying and untreated. I eventually had to go to another doctor who took a scan of my head and found the issues that were causing my symptoms. If I had let Seftel make me believe that I was a liar or overreacting I would not have gotten the proper treatment I needed. If you are taking your daughters to the doctor, or if you are a young woman, please do not go to a doctor who will disbelieve you simply because of your gender. I will always remember this experience and have used it as a reminder that doctors are not always right and that I deserve respect in a medical environment, because I pay way too much to go to a doctor who just brushes me off because I am a woman. I hope others have had better experiences.

Approximately 9-10 years ago I made an appointment with Dr. Spilman with the Santa Cruz Ear Nose and Throat Medical Group. He was the first doctor to culture my sinuses and discovered a bacteria "Pseudomonas". Pseudomonas is a bacteria notorious for its resistance to most antibiotics. Dr. Spilman has been diligent, persistent, and tenacious in tackling and fighting this bacteria. He has developed a treatment that I get every 6 weeks. This bacteria has been maintained and I am now free and clear of Pseudomonas. Dr. Spilman has given me a life that I can now, once again, breathe and enjoy. Thank you Dr. Spilman, you are truly a miracle in my life and my hero. Thank you for your determination, tenacity and never giving up on me. It has been a long fight and you are a winner. I can't imagine that anyone could have a more wonderful doctor than the one you have been to me. There are so many words I could try to say to you to let you and everyone know how much you mean to me, but the most important feeling are...thank you for all your care. I appreciate you with all my heart and breath. You never gave up. Thank you again! Your faithful and grateful patient- Barbara L.

I looked at available options in South Santa Cruz County, which would accept Medicare and provide physical and occupational therapy. Manresa Healthcare stood out to me initially because of it's smaller size, as it is easy for someone as nonverbal as she to get lost in a large institution., as it is easy for someone as nonverbal as she to get lost in a large institution. I was somewhat concerned when I saw that a year previously it had transitioned from local ownership to a larger company. However, when I toured the facility, I made a point of asking multiple non-management employees who had been there before and after the transition what impact the sale of the facility had had on their workplace. The answers were consistently positive. Furthermore, when I toured the facility, I was impressed both by how bright and clean it was, and by the layout, which is coming off of a single straight corridor, as opposed to a maze of twisting confusing hallways. straight corridor, as opposed to a maze of twisting confusing hallways. I am bringing her home today after four weeks at the facility, and I have zero regrets about my decision to place her there. I was particularly impressed by the accessibility of senior management. Within her first few days there, and throughout the entire time, I would routinely see the medical , the director of therapy and the administrator on the floor, and whenever they saw me they would make a point to check in on how my wife was doing, and whether any changes were needed. to check in on how my wife was doing, and whether were needed. The same was true of the dietitian, who met with me within a day of her admission to ask about my wife's food preferences. When my wife lost a few pounds in her first week there the dietitian met with me again to figure out what we could change to reverse that, which was successful. While institutional food generally has a bad rap, I was impressed by the menu, and I frequently checked on it by tasting my wife's food and it was definitely up to par., I was impressed by the menu, and I frequently checked on it by tasting my wife's food and it was definitely up to par. Within a week of her admission all of the staff knew and her by name every time they saw her. When she entered the facility, my wife was really unable to stand or use her walker due to the combination of her cognitive impairment, and the rapid loss of strength in the hospital. Due to the consistent therapy that she has received five days a week she's back to was before her hospitalization. Additionally, I have learned some new techniques that will help to keep both her and my back safe in the home. Communication with the director of therapy was constant and excellent Finally, I cannot say enough about the CNA's responsible for much of the daily contact with her. They were uniformly helpful and cheerful, and if the one assigned to her on a given day was busy one of the others was always willing to pitch in and help with whatever was needed. I cannot count the times that I was asked what else they could do for us. Of course, any elderly or impaired patient does better when they have someone in the family advocating for them, and I did that. However, in a facility with less accessible administration, I doubt that that would've had nearly the same impact..

Again I received a call that my son's therapist will be leaving the practice & in the meantime no times are available except 3pm on Wednesdays (they have his availability & know 3pm on Wednesdays would not work). Since February of 2026, his doctors have requested he receive an additional session be added since my son is non-verbal & every time I have followed up the response is "availability must remain open for other patients". CLARISSA, the scheduling "manager" who is very passive, informed me if i did not want to schedule my son for an incoming therapist in August (WE ARE IN APRIL) then i am more than welcome to have him discharged. Mind you, we drive an hour to take him to be able to receive this support & multiple times we have arrived & there is no therapist for him, or the session was "canceled". The lack of communication & opportunity for a child is extremely sad. 0/5 stars

Ms. Hoops was very helpful and explained the reason for my exercises as well as emphasizing the importance of my continuing the exercises on a long-term basis. I have heeded her advice. While in consultation with Ms, Hoops I also learned that she had experience working with deaf children. My family had been haranguing me for years to get my hearing tested and the results concluded that I had moderate hearing loss, but not sufficient loss for a hearing aid. However, I was not fully informed of the consequences of my hearing loss or provided an explanation of my testing chart. I made an appointment with Ms Hoops to go over the results of the test, I brought in my charts (which were greek to me) and she explained the test results, informed me of the sounds that are now difficult for me to hear and gave me suggestions regarding "training" family members and friends about how best to ensure that I hear their words. I am very happy to have found Ms. Hoops and Monterey Bay Speech Therapy.
