I purchased so many thing that I, of course, NEEDED! The one item that I got was the Finamil battery operated salt, pepper and spice mill. I fell in love with it, I got it in my favorite color, red. Recently a friend of mine mentioned how much she loved it, I knew her boyfriend's birthday was coming up and asked him it he was interested in it for HIS birthday (wink wink). So I called the store and I spoke with the Boss Lady herself, Jan. I was so impressed by her sweet and humble demeanor, she walked me through it, I purchased a gray (manly) color, including all the spices, an extra container and a corner stand. The package arrived in two days, and inside were 4 different packages beautifully wrapped in a colorful array of cactus paper, intricately stacked on top of each other and held together with a beautiful bow! Omg it was a work of art everyone was so impressed! Thank you Jan, you are awesome and one of these days I'll come back and visit, but this time I'm going to not leave LOL! All the best Cristina (former Executive Chef/owner of CiaoCristina in Burbank)

He brought all of the ingredients and the cooking equipment, occasionally entertained us while the food was cooking, and cleaned up after himself. I mean spotless. We had chicken, sausage, and shrimp in the paella -- one of us didn't want mussels. Lots of high quality ingredients, including the saffron. We didn't think we could finish the large dish but I may have had three portions. Definite 5 stars for Chef Ray.

I interviewed several private chefs to cook a dinner for 14 and knew almost instantly that Ray was my guy. As the dining table and kitchen are in close proximity, I knew chef would necessarily be part of the evening and I wanted someone whose personality would vibe with our unruly, irreverent, straight/gay tribe of bff's. What was served was superb. The food was yummy, scrumptious, delectable. All the words. And it was a real challenge to devise a menu that accommodated numerous personalities and dislikes. So, rest assured Ray is creative, resourceful and very skilled. But HOW it was served - with gregarious warmth and humor - truly made the evening special. Everyone totally fell in love with Ray and swooned over his culinary offerings. Days later, I was still receiving gushy texts about the food, the chef and the magical atmosphere. Thank you Ray, for helping turn a potentially crappy moment into a lovely, unforgettable one. I will take a little credit for having the common sense to choose you :)

The cake was amazing, it had some sort of coconutty filling that made it really moist, kind of like a tres leches cake. The toffee chocolate was my second favorite. The chocolate frosting was perfect and not too sweet. They also had some gluten-free and keto options. Service was great, and it looked like they put the cupcakes together on the spot, which took a few minutes to prepare. I'll definitely be back for the yummy coconut cupcakes.

We went in "just to look" (famous last words) and walked out with 3 cupcakes: vanilla bean, red velvet, and salted caramel toffee... plus a mocha tres leches parfait because self-control is seasonal and clearly out of stock!! Every single bite was the kind of good that makes you close your eyes mid-chew and ignore whoever's talking to you. But let's discuss the real star: the frosting!!! I was fully prepared for standard whipped cream or buttercream vibes, and instead got this cloud-like, silky situation that tasted rich but somehow light enough to justify eating an entire cupcake without emotional consequences. Tiffany herself let me in on the secret.... it's Italian meringue buttercream. So basically, classy buttercream that went to finishing school. Tiffany is also an absolute gem... warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what she's baking up. You can taste the love (and the butter, but mostly the love)!!! If you're in the desert and your sweet tooth starts whispering reckless ideas, listen to it. And definitely support this family-owned local spot. We'll be back for "research purposes" and to satisfy our sweet tooth!!
