Leo was very professional and gave me up front pricing and told me how much it was going to cost for a new transfer case. The transfer case from Toyota was very expensive and he gave me another option on a used one. The truck only had 50k miles and he recommended me to go for a new one and spend the extra cash. I decided to use his advise and go for the new transfer case. Better Miles gave me a 1 year warrantee and both parts and labor. Thank you Leo, the truck runs great and I will stop doing 4 wheel drive donuts in the snow. This was an expensive mistake.

Transmissions are complex. If I have learned one thing over the past few months it is just that…read more When you make a decision to replace or repair your transmission it's not only a big decision to weigh, but additionally a costly one. It's not a choice to take lightly, and when choosing a shop, choose wisely. I can honestly say it's been a bumpy path getting back on the road, but I still do believe that in going with Aamco, I chose wisely. From the minute Will (the owner) offered me a courtesy tow to get my vehicle in for a free assessment, until my most recent follow up visit, the man has stood behind his word. A word he guaranteed that he would do the very best he could, and that he would do everything within reason to solve the problem (and in my case, the MANY spin off problems) that may occur. What can I say? Will, Anthony, Marissa will not only do their very best, but they will do so even when it means their own shop may be taking a hit, to see a job through. Or may not make the margin they had originally expected, they're not just band-aid placers, they fix problems. Has it been a PITA? 100%. But have they done their very best to get this PITA corrected? 110%. 150% I think. I can't speak on all of their car services, but they do offer complete car care, and my guess is whatever they do, they do it fully, they do it well & with a satisfaction guarantee (until they've exhausted all possible options.) So if you have any car issues, old or new, big or small, Aamco on Jericho Trpk in Huntington Station is a great destination for you & your vehicle. Lastly, they're not the cheapest shop in town, but would you want to take your precious investment to a cheap shop? If you're having transmission work, in my guess it's likely SOMETHING may spring up. And it's that extra cost, those extra hours you may need to follow up, that extra phone call or swing by the shop, that's worth each penny. And I WILL tell you, if you need to pop in, Anthony will do his VERY best to drop whatever he can to help you. WITHIN REASON. Thank you Will, Marissa and Anthony (the Master Tech who has MANY MANY years of knowledge under his belt) The man will NOT stop until its right. That i WILL say.

As usual top service provided also this time when I dropped my car for an oil and filter change. My old X5 (2006) is been affected by "car-ona" virus or what I recently came up as accurate diagnosis of my vehicle . As per the second year in a row, passing the inspection in a 14 years old BMW is not an easy and simple thing. Well both Matt and Kenny and their competent mechanics are been doing what it takes to succeed in our mutual goal. Yes old the time there are new parts that apparently are needed to replace old parts, figuring out solutions, interpreting codes and sometimes what I called doing "miracles" with their own intuitions. And yes the bills are not that low but i believe fair for the foreigner cars we all drive from Germany. The type of labor is not that cheap and goes hand in hand with the cost of these cars. I do believe in their professional skills and trust the honest conducts offered in the last 5 or 6 years I use The Little Garage service . I ended up by them after not trusting two BMW dealers in Long Island where I did get screw big times and I found out how they ripped me off. read more

For years I've had panic about where to bring my 2005 BMW M3 for service. I've had my car for 12 years and only had it serviced twice at the dealership where I bought it. Considering the high performance nature of the car, I thought for sure the dealership was the only place that should handle it. Having moved 3 times since buying my car, my dealership was no longer an option. For that matter, no BMW dealership was an option anymore because my car was long beyond the free maintenance plan and past the cars warranty. These factors contributed to the fact as to why the car sat in my garage for 7 years. After so much research I found The Little Garage and it's rave reviews and decided this was the right place. The service was above and beyond my expectations. They fixed a problem that has been haunting my car for years. My son and I each own a BMW. 1 is year 1995 and the other 2003. I met Matt since my son brought his car for service and I drove him to pick it up. Matt took time to explain each and every detail about what he had done and what the car would need down the road with a detailed list as well as prioritizing what should come first. The bill was more than fair. You get the true feeling of honesty, integrity and trust from Matt. Even with having the lot slammed with cars, Matt let me leave my r53 Mini Cooper S at his shop due to over heating issues. He got to it within a few days like he said and they really took care of my car. I originally went there for a water pump, oil change, and supercharger maintenance. Not knowing there were other issues with my car, Matt called me to inform and ordered the parts I needed and worked with me on labor cost since they were already working in that area of the car. After picking up my car and giving it a little spin down the road, I must say, it feels so much better than it did before I brought it there, and no overheating!! I had a windshield washer fluid leak and intermittent failure of my windshield washer spray pump in my 2008 BMW. As an engineer, my mind jumped to the combination of things that could have broken and electrical issues that could be causing the problems. Accessing the washer fluid system involves taking off the passenger front wheel and road guard. I knew this was a project for Matt and his team at the Little Garage. Kevin took it apart, evaluated and found that both issues were caused from a failing washer pump. It was a simple, quick repair and now works perfectly! Quite the relief to have this addressed so efficiently and in time for winter road salt conditions. Thank you! read more

Matthew always explains what the options are to resolve whatever issues need to be addressed. He does not try to up-sell or suggest work that isn't required. Mine is an older car ('98 328is) and I credit Matthew and his team for helping keep it running smoothly. Great honest mechanics are hard to find. My Mini Cooper Clubman S is really well taken care of by Matthew and Ken. I had problems with just about everything, fuel intake, electrical problems , problems with my computer. The car is great, Matthew communicated with me very well. I had no surprises and I have awesome A/C, Perfect timing! There are dozens of repair shops from where I live to the Little Garage. It is well worth the trip. Excellent service experience at my first visit: thorough diagnoses without pushing for unnecessary repairs or replacement of parts, prompt acquisition of necessary/relevant parts, competent advise on how to proceed with the "rejuvenation" of my 25 old BMW convertible, and perfect execution of the repairs. These parameters support the label "excellence". Prices are not cheap, but justified considering the special knowledge one needs for these cars and the fact that replacement parts are higher than for "lesser" vehicles. Thank God for The Little Garage. I had an issue with my BMW 750 overheating and went to a big name local BMW dealership on Long Island, they told me I most likely warped the heads in the engine block and my head gaskets were leaking, I would need a new engine. I heard about the Little Garage from a friend and I called them, they told me to tow the car from the dealership to their shop.....long story short, they figured out it was the water pump and nothing else. I've been using Matt and The Little Garage for many years. He and his team never cease to amaze. I brought my X5 in for a simple state inspection (no appointment) and they discovered a nail in the tire and promptly fixed it. The tire was not losing air yet, no warning light on the dash. I have to say that they really did a full inspection and went over the X5 very well. I am a return customer. we do business with The Little Garage for many years. They do clean and good work on our cars. you can make requests, such as tightening torque, will be done. I had only a few years ago Mercedes from the 80's that I was daily driving. there is no problem servicing these here, the guys see them all the time, know what to do, they'll even tell you what to watch for. I needed a transfer case with motor. Matt went out of his way to find me a used one that was half the price and almost brand new. I had a comprehensive ac evaluation at PepBoys in Lindenhurst a couple of days earlier, was told the Freon was full and they found no leaks but the "compressor did not engage". The ECV issue is common with that model and year. I decided to shop around as I have been looking for a competent and honest repair shop since my go to guy of 15 years sold his shop. Understandably Cosmos Auto wanted to confirm the issue before providing a price and told me to bring my car in for a free ac evaluation. Nice clean place and people pleasant. I waited in their comfortable waiting room for them to evaluate the ac. After a while a guy came out and told me I did not need an ECV valve or a compressor and they found no leaks but the "Freon was absolutely empty" contrary to what I was told at PepBoys. The cost with tax was approximately $250. They added, though they didn't think so, if there was a "minor undetectable" leak, a dye in the Freon would reveal this in a few months. I was excited to finally find a competent honest replacement auto shop. I told family, friends and work associates and had plans to bring my son in law' s car in for engine work and my nephew's car too. I drove my car to work the next morning about 12 miles, ac worked beautifully and it worked driving home too. The next morning I turned the ac on and it blew hot air even hotter than it did before the Freon fill up. I called Cosmos Auto and a woman told me that the dye in the Freon is to determine undetectable leaks in the ac. Since the ac lasted no more than 24 hours if it was leaking, it was not a minor leak requiring dye to detect it. This appears to be a tactic to force customers to come back to an auto shop for expensive ac repairs. Needless to say, my search for a competent, honest repair shop continues.

After bringing my 2021 Subaru Ascent to Oakwood Car Care, the mechanic Mike, alerted me to the fact that the 2 remaining tires had some cracking on the sidewalls and should also be replaced. They preformed a computerized wheel alignment and installed a new set of 4 Pirelli Scorpion tires for the same price as the other ones. Now my family is back on the road, and the car handles great. Joe, Mike, Lauren and everyone at Oakwood does a good job of keeping my family safe for a fair price! I cannot thank them enough. I would highly recommend!!!!

However, when it came time to pay, the total bill shot up to over $285. On top of sales tax, they tacked on a $21.65 "Parts Kit / Shop Supplies" fee--on a purely visual inspection where ZERO parts or shop supplies were actually consumed. When you call for a simple inspection quote, you expect to be told the out-the-door price, not hit with undisclosed shop fees at checkout. The technician's inspection itself was okay, but the deceptive quote and hidden fees leave a bad taste. If you choose to use this shop, make sure you get a strict "out-the-door" price in writing before dropping off your vehicle.

The mechanic and owner was quite friendly and very courteous definitely seem like a great local business. Location wise there's not much around as its mostly an industrial area so if you need major works done definitely plan on transportation. Overall very happy with the service and definitely would be back for my future auto needs.
