Come try this baby out looks as good as it tastes.

Never ate in at this restaurant, but have ordered to go more than a few times, I have never really been over impressed, not to say I have been unimpressed though. Find the prices a little high compared to other restaurants nearby, i recently ordered a chef salad to go and was not to wowed by the looks as it looked average, but the taste was out of this world good. So you be the judge and see what u think.

My husband is a regular at this little restaurant that's located in a former school that now houses the Pine County Historical Museum.

For generations, it…read morehas been a must-visit destination for travelers heading, making it much more than just a restaurant. It's a Minnesota tradition. As soon as I announced I was going to Hinckley everyone who had been told me I just had to try Tobie's. What makes Tobies special is the combination of comfort food, an incredible bakery, and the nostalgic feeling that comes with walking through the doors. Fresh-baked breads, pastries, pies, cookies, and their famous caramel rolls line the bakery shelves, while their signature cornbread is a favorite that many visitors take home. Be sure to browse the gift shop, where you'll find locally made products, snacks, and their popular popcorn blends that make great road trip treats or souvenirs. Whether you're stopping for breakfast before exploring the area, grabbing lunch on your way to a Hinckley Knights game, or picking up baked goods for the drive home, Tobies is part of the experience. Our favorites were the apple fritter and the caramel roll. We also picked up bread and English muffins. If we had any more room we would have tried the ice cream, but there is always next time.

We made our stop about 8am on a Sunday in June. We didn't go to the sit-down restaurant, just the bakery counter. We picked out an apple fritter, maple fried roll, and cinnamon roll. My husband had a coffee, too. I'm very glad they had napkins and also packaged moist towelettes for us to take as we headed out. Everything was quite good. The apple fritter was special because it was still warm, and so fresh that it still had an airy texture. The bite of maple fried roll I had was good. The bulk of the cinnamon roll was mine, and wow, it was fantastic. I loved the generous amount of frosting, and the bread was soft and good. There are many more things here I want to try, but they will need to wait for another trip north!

Perhaps we have to blame it on the holiday, however, the service and credit card fees are a reflection of this rating. My mom reserved a table for 3 and we felt rushed to order and weren't told about the special Mother's Day menu that would end at 1 pm and not begin on the secondary menu at 2 pm with a noon reservation. We got our order placed in time and I had no issues with the meal as the portion size of the egg bake was was perfection. Our server disappeared once our food was distributed which was a bummer as my mom wanted more coffee. When we went to pay, we were all surprised with the debit/ credit fee of (I believe almost 3%). I have to argue that in today's market as a business, you have got to find ways to omit this fee or very clearly advertise cash only. Lastly, mothers were to get a flower at the table and my mom did not. I understand it said "while supplies last", however, with reservations, this should have been easy to count and distribute accordingly. The ambiance of this old historic building are my style as I appreciate any place that has been preserved. The city of Lindstrom is also such a special place. Proceed here with caution as there are good and bad.
