5 of the 9 Chicken Steamed Mo-Mos
Mr. Creosote X.

The Little Sherpa isn't too fancy, but the service and the cooking are outstanding. The extensive menu includes both northern Indian and Nepalese dishes - we focused on the Nepalese ones and were glad we did. Nepal is a diverse country, about the same latitude and size as Florida. The cuisine is related to Indian, but with a Chinese flair, courtesy of its neighbor to the north with which it shares a 550 mile-long border. We started with Vegetable Samosas (plenty of flavor, mostly mashed potato inside, similar to Indian ones we've had before) but then were very impressed by the steamed Chicken Mo-Mos (9 dumplings with interesting Nepalese spices). The Nepalese chicken Keema Noodles were a spaghetti-like pasta with flavorful ground and sauteed chicken - with a hit of the special spicy soy (you might have to ask for it) it was really outstanding. But we saved some to take home to leave room for the star of the night: The Sherpa Thali Chicken - basically a full Nepalese meal on a platter. Several brass bowls held, in turn, a sort of butter chicken, a cauliflower dish, a yellow dhal, and a soaked cake desert, along with gorgeous loooong-grain rice (served with ghee) lovely mustard greens, and two kinds of pickle chutney. We we also served, on the house, a Rice Pudding desert which was fresh and not too sweet. We loved everything and hope to try more of the huge menu.

The momo dish came with a wonderful sauce, and the chicken lollipops were very tender. For entrees, the goat curry was delicious and aromatic. The chili cheese naan was a nice addition to the meal as well. Moreover, the interior of the restaurant was welcoming, and the staff were very friendly. This is definitely a spot I will come back to visit again and try more dishes.

We started with the chicken lollipops. The taste was decent, but apparently the chickens they use are roughly the size of sparrows. Next came the Bang Bang Shrimp. The chef might want to take a field trip to PF Chang's and try their Dynamite Shrimp just to see what the dish is supposed to accomplish. The momos were ordered as appetizers, which I assume means they're intended to arrive before the meal. Ours showed up just as we were finishing our entrées. Maybe they were traveling from Nepal on foot. The goat curry was actually pretty good, which briefly gave us hope. Then the garlic naan arrived and tasted suspiciously like something that had recently completed a successful career at Costco. If they have a tandoor, it's apparently being used for storage. To add to the experience, there was live singing. Unfortunately, the entertainment seemed to receive more attention than the food. My humble suggestion: spend less time rehearsing songs and more time rehearsing recipes. The grand finale? The morning after, both my son and I were dealing with indigestion. Nothing severe, but it was a fitting encore to an already memorable evening. I rarely write negative reviews, but when a restaurant charges premium prices, I expect more than tiny appetizers, delayed food, questionable naan, and a digestive adventure. The biggest mystery of the night remains how this place maintains such a high rating.

We had reservations but it was not crowded as we arrived at 5pm due to the small children with us. They were very welcoming and patient with the kids. Food was great! Had the mixed veg appetizer which was enough for all of us to share- samosas especially were really good. Malai kofta was wonderful, butter chicken very good and a paneer dish was good as well. Papadum and garlic naan also were good. Prices were reasonable . Will return!

We started lunch at 12:30 pm and finished around 3 pm. The curries were flavorful and delicious, but the biryani was a bit disappointing. There was no flavor or spice to the rice. I would skip on that. The goat curry, butter chicken, bread bowl, chicken tikka masala and okra curry were all solid. For 6 dishes, it was about $140 with tax and tip. Restaurant has plenty of seating options, from booths to tables and they also have high chairs for kids. We went on a Sunday for lunch and there was only one other party there. One piece of feedback for the restaurant would be use different takeout containers. The ones provided did not prevent the curry from spilling out when there's movement. They were fine for rice dishes, but not for anything with liquid. I recommend coming here for lunch or dinner if you're craving Indian!

I arrive within twenty-one minutes buying only a quarter's worth of time at the parking meter thinking surely that would be enough time to grab my carryout order? Guys, why was I waiting an additional twenty minutes for food when nobody was in this restaurant? I hate when a restaurant draaaaaaags without giving any reasons. Thali shops have literal fast food. Not in the American sense but the foods are as simple as crepes (dosa) served with chutney. The other items would need more time. Curries, biriyani, etc Ordered an onion dosa and a masala dosa. Texture was different from what I'm accustomed to eating. But I'm wanting something similar to South Indian style. The onion dosa contained what looked like a full, medium sized onion. In Southie style it should be pan fried till brown, sometimes incorporated into the dosa or stuffed inside, this was barely translucent. Didn't slap. The masala dosa was mid. Didn't touch much. Hate throwing away food but.. Not wasting the stomach on barely good. Something about the texture of the dosa wasn't... It just wasn't good. One and done. If a restaurant offers dosa, it's gotta be great. Maybe their other foods are better?

We tried their chicken dosa, aloo samosa, and mutton thali. I love dosas but I think I prefer dosas from a different restaurant in the neighborhood.
