I live in the neighborhood and I am so happy to see the little store thriving and back. It was rundown for years until a few years ago after a long construction it came back better then ever. A very cozy, family friendly environment with a nice patio for family and friends to relax. The inside feels like a small town convenience store and I really like the vibe! Small cute ice cream shop that is pretty standard when it comes to small ice cream shops but I respect it and can see the appeal. The last time I was in this store was probably before the pandemic, six years ago. A week ago (late July 2026) I was on a bike ride through that neighborhood. I realized I had left my energy bars at home- no problem, I thought; I'll stop at this store to buy a few. Knowing my bike has an expensive bike computer, bike camera, and bike lights, I knew I was NOT going to lock my bike out front, out of my eyesight, and right on the busy street in front of the store for these devices to be easily stolen. Instead, I walked my bike to the store's side entrance, leaned the bike against an outside table, (and I was the only one in the store) and locked it. Upon checking out, the store owner (woman) barked at me and said, "There's a bike rack out front; use it next time." The problem is... there will be NO next time. First time visiting and honestly really disappointing, first and last time... I heard her greet another person but we were not greeted, maybe because we are people of color. There was only one staff very rude grumpy old lady, no one came or even asked if we needed help to order food and ice cream. Friendly and such a great place to grab a few bottles of wine and relax! We found this spot in our way to the VRBO. Family and friends were here from many states for my brother's wedding. One MIGHT think that the slew of kids getting out of school would be annoying with the banter, laughter and talking but it only added to our enjoyment. I've been going to "The Little Store" for 35-odd years. While I've never done much shopping there, it was a big plus to have a small "Mom and Pop" market walking distance from my home. Later in The Little Store's life the owner opened a cafe that served rice bowl lunches which were tasty and inexpensive. The place has had at least two owners prior to being torn down a few years ago and the owners and clerks were always very friendly. This was a great place to pick up a quick snack and a copy of the Willamette Week. They probably didn't make a lot of money selling staples... mostly bread, milk, soda and chips but us neighbors were always happy that the store was there. Fast forward to the new owners. It took several years to build the new structure and for years the question everyone was asking was, "what are they building?". Looked more like a bomb shelter with it's re-enforced foundation than it did a little neighborhood market. They must have sunk more than $1 Million into purchasing the land and building this store. I'm guessing it was a LOT more than one mil! You have to sell a LOT of sandwiches and wine to turn a profit after that sort of a financial investment. And since the place is usually a ghost town I'm guessing they aren't exactly rolling in dough over there. Makes one wonder what's going on. The details: The cashier is one crabby lady as others have noticed. The mutt running around off-leash is majorly annoying if you don't happen to be a "dog person". I gather the owners don't think the County leash law applies to them. This place is HQ for the neighborhood geezer Yuppies and wannabes. The neighborhood has changed a lot since I moved here many decades ago. I have nothing in common with the typical patrons here (nor they with me). They have a nice patio with a fire pit that might be enjoyable if their typical patrons and resident golden retriever weren't so annoying. I'm not a wine/beer drinker but a sandwich might be nice until you look at the menu to see what they are charging. They do have a daily special that's reasonably priced though. On Summer weekend evenings they occasionally have a local musician playing (for tips, I presume) which is pleasant. There's not much parking on-site which is not a problem for me since I am walking distance from it. But if this place ever gets popular finding a place to park could be problematic. Given that the place seems to never have many customers I can't see them remaining in business for much longer. Running the place certainly isn't a labor of love for the owners given how crabby the staff is. Perhaps they will go out of business and someone more reasonable will buy the place. The location is very good for me and the format (big patio to watch the traffic go by while you enjoy a sandwich) works for me. Lose the dog, attract people who actually work for a living as customers, serve a really good sandwich/burger at reasonable prices and this place could become quite popular with the locals. As it currently is, it seems to mostly be a niche business that is attractive to snotty snobs who would never stand for the American flag and think that Starbucks is actually good coffee. Literally perfect also they have absolutely anything you need, from drinks to food items, cereal, pancake mix, canned goods, tortillas, to toothpaste and shampoo, car items... My family came to this neighborhood for our annual summer vacation and this little store was within walking distance of our airbnb. The owner was welcoming and so sweet to tell my grandma the history of the store. They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, the breakfast sandwiches were a hit with the whole family. They come on either an English muffin or a bagel with your choice of breakfast meat, we all commented on how fluffy the eggs are and how melty the cheese is. I always look forward to trying a new beet salad and this one did not disappoint. While it was simple with just beets, creamy goat cheese, mandarin oranges, and lettuce, the servings were generous and made for a lovely salad. We sat on the patio with our dogs and enjoyed the sounds of birds chirping and children playing nearby. The Little Store seems like the jewel of the neighborhood and, if I lived nearby, I think I would come here everyday. read more

I would not recommend this store at all. The owners are rude, not helpful at all and always have an attitude. I've had two scones from this place and BOTH of them were moldy. Absolutely disgusting. How can you serve moldy food? My friend also went there and picked up some strawberry milk, and it was expired with green floaters in it. I've also picked up bottles of water dated a year ago. Of course, water doesn't expire but it just goes to show they definitely do not check the dates on things. I doubt they keep track of the dates on the fresh food they serve, or anything else they sell. This store should NOT be in business. It's not safe to serve bad food to unsuspecting customers. Normally I am all for supporting small businesses, but this place has proved itself to be a terrible store time & time again. read more

Today I took my son just up the street to the school playground..We played teatherball (he is quite good) ran a bit on the track, played some soccer and basically played hard. It was pretty chilly so on the way home I thought hot chocolate would be in order. We picked up and started walking down the road. We got a small and medium hot chocolate. The cost? $6. Now this was more than I was expecting, but it was a treat so we went outside to sip them. The fire pit makes up the difference for the high prices. It is pretty cool to warm up next to the fire and talk to random people about random stuff. It isn't the place I would shop but every once in a while, it hits the spot. read more

The Little Store is a great addition to the neighborhood. The owners are very passionate about their service to the community and essentially created the whole store in image of their needs. The growler serves glasses of wine and 12-16oz beers, the deli serves sandwiches, salads and soups, and the barista station serves drip and speciality espresso coffee. The grocery portion of the store is just the essentials. It is a convenient store not a grocery store. They have fresh produce, dairy products, candy isle, chips, some canned foods, and other miscellaneous things. Come down to The Little Store and support local! read more

We are so happy the Little Store is up and running and love to go there! Our fourth grader and his friend also run up to the store occasionally to pick up Pringles and drinks. They have had great experiences with the cashier, as have we. Recently I forgot my sweatshirt, and the woman working recalled that my boyfriend called to make sure they were open. It's nice having a small Mom and Pop store in the neighborhood that's within walking distance. I don't go often but they seem to have a decent amount of business which means they must be doing something right. The only things I really purchase are skittles and Red Bull (of which they have a limited selection). They do have some pricey items which is understandable seeing as they're a small business trying to make a profit. The staff has been nice and thorough on the days I've been in there - so the only reason I'm giving this a 4 star review is the fact that they need more Red Bull. read more

A great addition to the neighborhood, so nice to have a cold drink at the fire pit, a waffle cone with delicious ice cream or a sandwich. You can buy drinks out of the cooler and they'll open them for you so you can consume them on site. Great selection of beer, wine, ciders, champagne... Everything! There's a pretty good selection of items and it's a nice and new building with a cool patio. The panini is pretty okay tasting... nothing spectacular. The quality of service here is what keeps me from coming back. The cashier is incredibly unfriendly to the point of downright rude at times. One example: she accidentally charged me double for only one item and did not know how to correct the issue. I couldn't keep waiting since I was running late so I just grabbed a second item to make up for the extra charge .... I didn't get an apology or a thank you or have a nice night or anything whatsoever. It's really a shame because I would love for this place to have that friendly customer service that true corner stores excel at! FYI - stay away if you have dog allergies/aren't dog friendly/have a service dog that can't be distracted... this store has a yellow lab that they let roam off leash on the patio. This is a little neighborhood gem! Good selection of convenience items plus a nice selection of wine and beer. The deli offers hot or cold deli-type sandwiches plus soup and there is a bar! Everything we've tried has been really good. I think the prices are comparable to other like-establishments. We have found the owners and employees to be friendly and helpful. Great place to grab a sandwich and a beer and enjoy their fire pit on the patio. The Labrador Retriever that is occasionally on the patio is a sweet dog. read more

I'm really happy to see this store return to the neighborhood. It's way more than a nicer looking 7-11. It's really a small deli/cafe with an assortment of fresh produce that also serves beer and wine by the glass and has the usual convenience store items and coffee. You can grab a sandwich, a piece of fruit and a cappuccino in one stop. There's a paucity of "3rd places" in the area. Say you want to get out of the house for an hour, perhaps have a conversation with a friend or family member. Sure you can go to the Subway at Peterkort but is that a place to linger and have a conversation? No. You could go to Market of Choice but do you really want to deal with the parking lot? The Little Store's outside patio and firepit are symbols of a community gathering round. Hopefully, the Little Store becomes part of your regular community. read more

There is a whole candy and soda section, Long day of work and just need a drink? Go to the back and Order beer or wine! (21+).
