This place consistently serves you good food in a nice, clean setting and comfortable atmosphere. The place is nice, especially their newer location. While I wouldn't consider them upscale, they do feel a little more upscale than most other places in a similar category. The menu is a good size, but not so big it overwhelms you. It's standard bar food, but with a better quality than the average bar. They also offer you some actual entrees instead of only fried foods. They happen to be one of the places I like without having any true favorite items on the menu. I sat at the bar. The bartender ( I did not get her name) was unbelievable. She handled a full bar and the entire bar and never kept you waiting. The loading dock is easily the best restaurant in Dunmore. When I walk in I'm usually greeted by the owner who makes me feel more welcomed than my own family. They say that Disney Land is the happiest place on earth...well to me it's the Loading Dock. The portions are so big I can feed my family for three days on one meal. The quality is top notch and the place is spotless. There is not a germ in the building. The prices are more than reasonable. While the food and service is very good I am always annoyed and disappointed by the wait. I recently went there with a group of 12. I called 3 days in advance since it was a large group. The owner REFUSED to take a reservation. He indicated that if I called prior to arrival they would accommodate us. I called at 6:30 to arrive at 7:30 and had one of the group arrive at 7 to try to expedite seating. My group was never seated until 8:30!!!! Then to add insult we were seated between the doors to the kitchen! The owner purports that service and customers are very important to him but has a lot to learn about how to treat people. I spent a lot of money and left a nice tip but needless to say none of the group is in a hurry to return!!! read more

Place was jammed on a Monday night. I ordered a beer off of list but was shortly told the keg kicked and was offered a similar substitute. Waitress was friendly and attentive as well as another gentleman i can only assume is the Eagle Eyed owner mentioned in other posts. Our Group of 5 all ordered entrees that come with choice of soup or salad. I started with seafood bisque. It was a large serving and full of chunks of seafood but not super flavorful. Ended up taking home half the bowl so I didn't fill up before the main event. Broiled Haddock with mashed potatoes. Dill cream sauce was light and tasty. Fish was cooked nicely and 2 large scoops of redskin mashed pots were more than enough for 2 maybe 3 peeps. Friends enjoyed salmon w/garlic sauce and porterhouse steak with fries that are the seasoned crunchy kind I can't resist. Only miss was the under cooked bacon on bacon wrapped scallops. But otherwise a good meal. Servers were attentive and food came out hot and quick despite a busy dining room. Atmosphere was laid back and friendly. Seems like everyone leaves with leftovers. Some people like that feature...but I'm usually suspect of big menus w/big portions. I would like to visit again for maybe a burger or salad and sample some more beers. We were here overnight on our way home and decided to try this restaurant since it was close to our hotel. We were greeted right away and shown to a table. Our server made several recommendations and we decided on the pretzel chicken sandwiches. Our food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. Dark restaurant with no style whatsoever. We were escorted to the farthest dark corner of the restaurant, where we could not see the drink selections. I ordered the signature salad, which was very good. Too much for one person though. While large portions can be nice, too much salad just goes to waste. Salad does not do well the next day. Great food, extremely large portions, great price! Very unassuming from the outside, but do not let that fool you. The new interior is comfortable, refined, and immaculate. There are tvs if you want to watch, but they are not intrusive if you don't. The staff are very professional and friendly, they work together to make sure guests are well taken care of. Let me start by saying I gave this place a shot twice, both times was highly disappointed in the service. The first time I went was with my parents. It was a weekday and there was no wait, however the wait for food took forever and the food itself was highly underwhelming. Here's where we became angry as upon arriving at the restaurant and it being packed, we told the hostess our name and she wrote it down for 2 people. We waited for a half hour as three more groups of 2 (older looking) people arrived after us and were seated almost immediately. We're guessing because of the way we looked and dressed, which was a younger couple (although we're both over 21 ) We were in no way welcomed or greeted and treated as if we were a burden to the establishment. As someone who's worked in the restaurant business for half of my life, I know never to treat any customers this way.upon being skipped a table and never even given a chance at the bar, we walked out. I'll never give this restaurant another chance and tell my friends to avoid it at all costs. The owner is very very very rude. My boyfriend and i ordered a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer. The owner then delivered to us what we thought was our quesadilla, we realized after our first bites that it wasn't chicken, and instead it was shrimp. I work in restaurants so i try to never send food back, so i wasn't planning on saying anything. Moments later, the owner then came back over with our actual quesadilla and asked my boyfriend and i why were eating the shrimp one; he was acting as if we did something wrong. The way he was speaking to us, it was like he was speaking down to his customers and made us feel very stupid. When our actual chicken quesadilla arrived there's was yet another problem we were given bleu cheese with it instead of sour cream. It wouldn't of been an issue if the server or someone decided to check on us, but sure enough, no one did. Our entrees arrived and my burger was similar to a hockey puck. I could't even eat it, but i didn't complain or send it back because how disrespectful the owner already was to me. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Stopped by on a Monday night and it was busy, but there was no excuse for us to wait as long as we did at the waitress station to be seated. No one was there, not customers, not a hostess. I didn't time it, but it felt like at least 10 minutes before hostess wandered by to seat us. Of course, their sign was spot-on accurate: "Please wait to be seated" and we did. Took quite a while for the waitress to come over, and even longer to get our drinks. Food was a disappointment ..... wings were small, tough, with little meat. Companion ordered a prime rib French dip sandwich that tasted of too much rosemary seasoning....of course, maybe some people like it that way. But it was too much to enjoy. Also ordered a sampler that was a pile of food mushed together. It didn't look appetizing, especially for something called an appetizer. Food was bland. Sorry to say, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. However, may return alone some night and sit at the bar, those customers seem to get more attention. Order different food items. read more

I enjoyed the weekend there with my colleagues. lots of different beers to choose from and a huge menu with huge portions. Prices were well below average for this type of establishment. The atmosphere was nice. My mother, son, husband and I went to eat here Monday at 4. The Waitress comes to take our order, doesn't write anything down. My mother also ordered something to take home. Doesn't write anything down. I ordered my French onion soup without the bread. It came out. Had bread. I told the food runner and he said he'd take it back and they'll make a new one. I told him it was ok and I would eat it. He insisted. So I let him take the soul. When he returned the cheese was all the way at the bottom. Now I didn't even dive into the soup before hand I wanted to see if I had the one without bread because my mother ordered the same thing. It was really offputting. I wasn't really excited about the way it looked. They just broke the cheese open to remove the bread and returned it. Really gross looking. I hope to not come back because there wasn't much on the menu I could eat and what I ordered was absolutely gross how they brought it back. read more
