We stopped in on a quiet Thursday afternoon while exploring the downtown area. We were seated immediately & drink orders taken. We sat in a booth but there are a lot of open tables - my guess is it could get a bit loud when the place is hoppin'. Girlfriend went with grilled checked salad, and maintaining the theme, I ordered a chicken cheesesteak. Both orders came quickly and were quite tasty. I always seem to forget this place is here! It's right on Public Square next to Dunkin Donuts. Parking is only street parking and can be tough on a busy weekend night. But if you can't find street parking, there is a garage right around the corner and it's always a nice little walk. If you like outside dining, grab a table on the patio, people watching in Wilkes-Barre can be super interesting! Great date night spot. I've always liked the food here and I don't remember getting anything I didn't like. On this visit we tried the Sicilian pizza and I have to say, I wasn't impressed. The crust reminded me of a store bought ready made crust, which I'm not a fan. The cheese was good though. It seems like they use a mixture of mozzarella and American, which I like. The sauce was good too. This isn't something that would deter me from coming in the future, I just wouldn't order this particular pizza again. Came here for the first time tonight and I was extremely impressed. The decor in this restaurant is soo pretty and upscale without the obligation to make you feel like you need to get dressed up. Right away the hostess so nice and friendly which gave an overall great first impression. Even on Saturday night they were so organized and fast paced. I have a wine and they gave a nice pour so I definitely got my money's worth. The prices were actually surprising very fair and the portion sizes were great. For the price, the food was underwhelming in both portion size and quality. My chicken bites were lacking in sauce and flavor, though I liked that the breading wasn't excessive. We went to Rodano's before a show at the Kirby Center. Rodano's does not take reservations on the night of a show. This means we waited 11/2 hrs for our appetizers. The waitress told us that there were 8 tables ahead of us.we asked to speak to a manager, and no one showed up. But miraculously, our food did. The steak bites were extremely overcooked and the French fries were raw. Here's a thought, take reservations and ask for a deposit. read more

There burger itself was a little more on the rare side than medium rare like I asked for. The chicken flatbread was very saucy and not too spicy. I love the giant pretzel. It's a real fun family appetizer. I don't understand why they charge extra for marinara sauce for a stromboli. It should come with it with no extra charge unless you ask for extra sauce. Went here for business lunch and while service was slow, the food made up for it. I had the Wilkes sandwich which is a hot turkey sandwich on a Brioche bun. I was impressed! I also had a side salad with their home made honey mustard dressing which was quite tasty. Would recommend if you're in the area looking for a quick but good meal. read more

Came in for Dinner as part of a group of 7. Ordered Dinner by 6. We had a show to go to at 8. At 7:00 one of our party members asked the Waitress when our food would be coming. We were told our food will be it would be out shortly. at 7:20 we asked our waitress to please check on our food. She did and told us we were the 8th table in line. We asked how that could be when we had ordered at 6:00? We were told they are busy. We then asked for the manager. Magically our food came out about 5 minutes later. No manager showed up. Our food was all appetizers and two sandwiches. Three orders of Steak Bites were not edible. Over cooked dry and awful. French Fries were so undercooked you could see through them. We again asked for a manager. When the manager came she was rude, dismissive and said what do want me to call the owner at home. 4 out of the 7 of us have waitressed and worked in other areas of a Restuarant. We can understand being busy. That should be the goal of a restaurant. If you can only cook good food and give a great customer experience when you are slow, then you are failing. Italian I was in the area and was going to meet some friends for dinner so they suggested Rodano's. After going around the traffic circle a few times, I scored a spot right near the door and popped into the bar area while waiting for my friends. The bar is large- really large and more or less dominates the center of the place - great for sitting and having some drinks with friends or while waiting for your table. The bartender was great and as it was early when I got there, the place wasn't so busy - so she was chatting and keeping me company. Friends arrived and we grabbed a table off to the side. Maybe it is me, or maybe it is a PA thing, but it was cold in there and i just couldn't shake the chill. Who knows? in any case I dove into the menu as I was hungry and cold and started with a bowl of clam chowder - it was good and hit the spot. My buddy's wife recommended the flat bread and it looked and sounded good so I went with that and a small salad to begin with. I went with "The Sterling" which was roast turkey, bacon, and mozzarella and cool ranch dressing... and it was larger than expected. Food was fine and I even took home half of the flatbread to eat at lunch the next day - perfect. Waitress was very good - knew that menu inside and out and overall a solid experience. One of the most modern places in the area. Right up there with Beer Boys and Bart and Urby's. I heart the Fine Arts Fiesta Flatbread. I've gotten it three times in the past two months. Delicious. Hands down. Food is very good. Service on the other hand, almost always atrocious. Of my "11" checkins so far as of tonight, it's 50/50 what the service will be like. I don't like standing at a bar where the server just stands there and doesn't acknowledge they know you want something. I LOVE Rodanos! I have come here multiple times and it is always great! The outside seating is the way to go (if it is nice outside) as the inside is a bit dim and unpleasant. I have had almost all of the burgers here, but I love the BBQ one. It is so moist and perfectly cooked every time. The sauce is perfectly balanced too. I also love their fries! I always order an extra basket of fries, because this place has THE BEST fries in the whole city! I have also had the salad with all of the fruit and chicken a couple of times (I always forget the name of it, but it may be "diamond city?"). It is also great (especially for a salad). The chicken is always perfectly cooked and never overdone. The drinks are always cold and they have some cool cocktails. Overall, I would highly recommend this place! read more

Went here before the David Byrne show. Seating was weird. When we came in and asked the hostess to be seated she said there was no waiting list for tables and no estimated wait time and then shrugged her shoulders... so we basically sharked a table ourselves, grabbed our own chairs and when our food came found our own utensils. The best part was that there was a sign at the front door that stated "Please wait to be seated". After we sat down we noticed that the hostess was actively directing people to eat across the street. I had the WB Leadership salad, which was Asian-inspired, making me wonder if the "leadership" implied some kind of communist-leaning sympathies from the management. Anyway, the salad sucked. Too much dressing and not enough elements to make the salad tasty or interesting. Basically a few fried shrimp on red cabbage. Friends got the cheesesteak, and that was pretty good. Juicy and not slathered in cheese. Boneless wing bites were decent too. Drinks were fine, how can you criticize a bottled beer?, but slow to come. To be fair it was busy but it was extremely hard to get anyone's attention, and it was unclear who could and could not bring us drinks, e.g. the person who brought us our drinks couldn't take our drink order, and the person who took our drink order couldn't bring us our drinks. read more

I ordered a chicken wing stromboli to go, when I picked it up it was slightly higher priced than what the online menu said and I figured that maybe the online menu prices were wrong. Nope. Got charged for a side of marinara that I neither asked for or wanted. I understand trying to up sell and ASKING a customer if they want marinara, but who in their right mind wants a side of marinara for a CHICKEN WING STROMBOLI? And since I didn't notice the extra charge until I got back to work there was no way for me to go back and complain or ask why the person who took my order would add additional charges on to my order without asking. I am very upset about being charged for food that I am going to throw into the garbage. Not only that, but I tried contacting them via the email listed on their website, which apparently no longer exists, and the links to their social media no longer work either. The unimaginative menu (wings, pizza, burgers, stromboli) is mediocre-to-fair but the service is so uniformly bad that it's almost entertaining. Seriously, walk into the (mostly empty) cavernous space during any lunchtime and you could wait forever until anyone notices you. If you're lucky and you get seated, you wait once again for a proper server. You'll be stuck waving your hands like a drowning swimmer and feeling like a jerk because the waitresses will just ignore you otherwise. Anything other than a table of three people seems to send the waitresses into cognitive paroxysms that prohibit language and math comprehension. So check your check before you leave and expect mustard where ketchup was supposed to be and strange sausage-like meat on a pizza you were assured was sausage free, Friday and Saturday nights the place transforms into the third jewel of the downtown Wilkes-Barre douche crown of awful "college" bars. Avoid like the plague at those times. (Or wear a bulletproof vest and bring penicillin.) read more

A great spot to go for dinner and drinks in NEPA! This place is huge and I really like the addition of another bar. They have excellent happy hour prices, but it does get pretty crowded so you might have to wait a while to get a drink. I usually have a hard time straying away from their chicken wing stromboli, but they do have pretty decent pizza, too. My only big gripe about this place is the service. Whether I am here with just one or two other people on a weeknight, or with a larger group on the weekend, the service is always the same: horrendous! There have been numerous occasions where I have waited 15-20 minutes to even give a waitress/waiter my drink order, and it wasn't even busy! If they could improve in that area, I would come here more often, but I always waste too much time here and it becomes a frustrating experience. read more

Been going here for years! I still remember the old Rodano's by King's over. Their new location is huge and amazing - very inviting! In the warmer months, request to sit outside. Yes, you're overlooking Public Square (not thrilling), but it's still nice to enjoy the sunshine on their deck! Everything from their menu is amazing. Two of my favorites are the chicken wing stromboli and their mild/bleu cheese wing sauce. My boyfriend is hooked on this sauce!! Fun night spot as well as a decent restaurant. Typical pizza and wings which are OK. I am a fan of their flat breads which are big enough for an entree. Recommend the steak flatbread, pretty kick-ass. Nightlife is great with a DJ or live music and plenty of room to move around. Bar area tends to get a little crowded which can make getting your drink difficult, but all in all not a bad place. Probably one of the best places left to go out in Wilkes Barre since everything else has fallen into disrepair or is riddled with crime. As a side note, they're currently (spring '13) in the process of constructing an outdoor bar, which will definitely make it the go-to spot on warm summer nights in downtown WB. I have loved Rodano's since they opened on North Main Street across from King's College. Everything I've ever had there is good. For awhile I was a kick with their spicy grilled chicken sandwich. OMG. Lean grilled, peppered chicken topped with wing sauce on a soft and chewy kaiser roll. Their wing sauce is really good and it's one of the better places in the Valley to get decent wings. Pizza is really good too. So are the subs. have never had anything here that I didn't like The new location on Public Square is really amazing. It's bigger, better seating, beautifully decorated, cool graffiti like art on the back walls. Huge tv for sports viewing a small stage for live music and a small "arcade". Also a small room for private parties. A few tables outside make for nice dining in good weather. The menu has changed a bit. The wings, buffalo bites and pizza are always a good choice. The burgers and wraps are really good. The nachos are great. Pretty decent beer selection too. read more
