I almost got the Smokehouse Nachos, because I love a good smoked-meat-and-chip situation at a barbecue joint. But then mine eyes doth glanceth upon the words "Brisket Birria Sandwich" on the menu, and I had to pivot. I'm so glad that I went with my heart. The Brisket Birria Sandwich at Ripple & Company consists of smoked brisket, white cheddar, red onions and cilantro, all melted and pressed between a roll, and served with birria consomme. You dip the sandwich in the consomme and eat, kind of like a French dip. Dip and eat, dip and eat, until you can't dip and eat anymore, either because it's all gone or because your stomach is about to burst. It's a big sandwich, and it is also served with incredibly delicious fries, which doesn't help with the stomach bursting thing. This whole meal is amazing and I would visit Ripple & Company just to eat this exact thing again. I visited with people who ate at Ripple & Company quite frequently, and they got their favorites: The Black & Gold Pub Burger, and the Cajun Shrimp Tacos, with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. Everyone enjoyed everything. As a nice surprise, one of my dining mates ordered the Smokehouse Nachos for us to share, as if we didn't have enough food. But there's a different chamber in my stomach for chips and nachos, and luckily, that chamber was empty, so it worked out just fine. The nachos are great, with tender pieces of shredded pork, pickled jalapenos, a vegetable mix, green onions and chipotle ranch drizzled on top. The service here is great: We were seated right away, ordered right way, and our food came out within a good amount of time. Well. We've been to a lot of restaurants in this area over the past year, while visiting Purdue. This is "it" for us. Absolutely fabulous. Got the brisket 1/2 pound dinner and the Bazingas corn fritters appetizer. Brisket is good, good flavor from the seasoning and smoke. Dry. But bbq sauce can fix that. Sides are very good too. On this day, we visited Ripple and Company in Lafayette, IN after a weekend at Purdue. Ripple & Co. was not our first choice, but, as luck would have it, it will be added to the roster of staples when in town. If you haven't been, this place is awesome in so many ways! When you walk in you get transported into a very chic and hip nostalgic place mimicking days of old with motor shop signs and old vinyl record albums displayed on the walls. The flow is very open and airy and very inviting. As soon as we entered we were greeted as old friends and added to a list. It wasn't a long wait, even on this busiest of weekends. Out waiter was great, friendly, quick and very knowledgeable about the menu. But... The real reason we were there, was the food. And it did not disappoint! We ordered the Chili Lime Steak Sandwich, a Chili Lime Flank Steak with Creamy Guacamole, Caramelized Onions, Pickled Jalapeno & Smoked Cheddar & Red Pepper Chimichurri on A Baguette with a bit of heat and a complex but delicious combination of flavor that just set your taste buds ablaze! Came here for lunch on Saturday. It wasn't too busy so getting seated wasn't an issue. Our waitress was very attentive and looked like they had more staff than needed. The inside is a nice setting. The bar area is very cool. I liked the decor and the variety of options. I had the Boiler Espresso cocktail with cream which was very good. As for my meal, I did pulled pork. The pork was tasty but there was quite a bit of fat on it. It's bigger chunks and not the typical shred that most places serve. The Mac and Cheese side was good but cold in a few spots. The spoon bread was different but good. I don't think I would do pulled pork again if I come back. I'd either do the French Toast brunch meal or a burger. read more

Super clean establishment with the scent of so much comfort food when you walk through the doors! We came here two days in a row because the food and service was so good the first night. Had the rib tips with sweet sauce and they were melt in your mouth good with that sweet bbq sauce! We then ordered the fish and chips and also the brisket. Both meals were amazing! The cuts of fish are thick and fresh! Can back for day two at lunchtime and greeted right through the doors and sat in a great spot to watch the college and pro sports in the tv's. This time I had the bursting with flavor mushroom and swiss burger with a must have horsey sauce that pulls it all together! I'm celiac and had the gf brioche bun which was toasted and crispy around the edges! My husband this time had a Bloody Mary and the black and blue salad that he loved. We then decided to go for it and order the death by chocolate cake...WOW! Soooo good! Very family friendly and great ambiance. All staff were friendly and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. First time here was for a Saturday lunch and came in here randomly with no reservations and I don't think they take any. We got very lucky with the parking right in front on the street and it is free. This part of town has a lot of restaurants and shops in parking is and can be hard to find. Did the corn sides really cute very American rustic nostalgic. I think this is a newer place. The menu is actually quite diverse and nice, even though it does fit on one page. It was also great to see the alcohol and nonalcoholic selections. We actually went nonalcoholic and we're very happy. The food portions are actually very fair considering the price and everything was tasty. . Our waitress was super friendly, and very patient with us which I greatly appreciate. It seems like there is quite a few locals and or college students working here and let me say that they all had a great attitude and we're all working away which was great to see. I can not give an experience five stars if I did not eat there. I can say, however, all of the food that we saw past by looked really good. We went in on a cool Sunday morning to grab a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and promptly seated in the bar area. It was comfortably busy but not packed. The longer we sat there, the busier it got. We were there at approximately 1130am. My wife ordered a Bloody Mary and I got a Mimosa. After the server walked away, I noticed that they offer 'Mimosa Bottle Service'. I was surprised that our server did not try the upsell. $22 for a $5 bottle of Champagne and some OJ seems like a very profitable upsell. When she brought back our drinks, I asked if I could upgrade to the bottle and she gladly brought out a bottle of Champagne. The Bloody Mary was not too spicy and my wife really enjoyed it and I always enjoy a good Mimosa. I enjoy the remodel that they have done but it is a tad confusing. Behind the bar are car hubcaps. On the wall next to it are framed record albums. Hanging above is a 'crew' boat from a college rowing team. Maybe there is no 'theme' but if there is one, I am not sure what it is. I'm so excited to write this review!!!! Me and my friends went to a special event....wine/dinner pairing...and my gods, it was as WELL worth the ticket price. Please attend these events. It was a four course dinner, with PERFECTLY paired wines. We were given two drink tickets, so we were able to enjoy a pre dinner drink as well as a post dinner drink. The chef described each dish as it was being served by some of the most professional, and courteous servers I've experienced in Lafayette. He seemed a bit shy, which was so cute. I love humble people especially when they're as talented as this man is...he truly loves giving his guests a spectacular dining experience. The wine distributor was on site giving detailed descriptions of each wine. I love that!!! We had an opportunity to speak with the wine distributor, and she told us she met with the chef, the owner, and others, and for each of these events it's a very well thought out, and time consuming process taking into consideration time of year, and in-season foods. It shows. The space where the dinner is held is their private event space. It can be rented out for any event, and it is quite impressive. Elegant. Spacious. Fantastic ambiance. This is my second time I've been to Ripple & Company, and the reason I came back is the Fig Sidecar. This drink is a perfect balance of the light flavor of the fig mixed with a rich contrast of brandy. It is one of my favorite drinks I've ever had at a restaurant. The service is awesome, and I like the open feel of the restaurant. This is the first time I've been for brunch, and I ordered the Monte Cristo. The ham had great flavor, and the raspberry on top was awesome. To me, the star of the sandwich was the bread; it was buttery and had just the right amount of crunch. Friday night at 5:30 it was just getting very busy. Parking is kind of an issue, there's a lot nearby that fills up pretty quickly. We were seated in the bar area at a high top. Service was quick, but not too accurate. I'll get to that in a minute. Chipotle BBQ wings were really good. Sticky not too spicy sauce. Good flavor, and crispy under the sauce. For the entree I ordered the fried chicken, gluten free option, and substituted street corn for the fried Brussels sprouts. What came out was the fried Chicken covered in the non-gf gravy and the sprouts. I sent it back since I cannot have gluten. My table mates enjoyed their food, I waited another 10 minutes for the proper preparation. I didn't mind waiting at all, these things happen. I got some apologies, which is all anyone can really do. My food came out, the street corn was still absent, and the Brussels sprouts were on my plate. Since I had already waited before I didn't make a fuss and just gave the sprouts away. The gf option chicken was not worth waiting for. It was very dry, and the chickpea flour breading lacked any real flavor besides pepper. It appeared to be a pounded thin boneless skinless chicken breast. The mashed potatoes were very hot, and tasty. I would have loved some butter or something to make up for not being able to have the gravy. Oh well. Love and learn. Will I go again? Maybe. Your first visit can be a little bewildering, so let me coach you up: You order at the counter (which sounds simple). Just know there are three distinct stations. Off to the left is where you order Greyhouse products. The middle station is where you order food. Off to the right is designated for beer and such. Once you have your order, feel free to sit anywhere. It was a beautiful day, so we opted for the outdoor patio on the 2nd floor. We ordered and shared a variety of small items.
