Have never been treated more poorly in my life. Came here from out of town. Wanted a local coffee shop feel. Read the reviews and couldn't wait to get our first morning coffee. Was greeted by a gruff middle aged bearded man who did not make eye contact and had no tolerance for us as we made our decisions. Had to self serve our own iced coffees and then accused me of using hot coffee when I asked politely for more ice. I can honestly say I've never written a bad review but now understand why people do. Guy at the counter was rude. Our order was skipped over 3 times. When we tried to ask about our order we were ignored then told they were busy making the orders for customers that came after us. YES. This cozy cafe is just what you need to start your morning off right. The coffee is excellent, the owner is friendly, and the outdoor seating is relaxing. Maybe its just the laid back nature of Siesta Village, but I love this place. It's right next to the Pharmacy and kind of easy to miss if you don't look for it. read more

New Owners Zach and Courtney have created a warm and inviting environment to enjoy a nice espresso tea or coffee. A great addition for me is the lunch menu. Zach has a long standing career in the food industry and it shows ! He makes perfectly sized salads for lunch with chicken and wonderful additions like black olives cucumbers and feta cheese. He also makes two kinds of dressing and always gives me one of each ! I am a regular and will be back many times ! Does not hurt that my office is right next door. Visited here in the morning as a friend was going to treat me to coffee with a coupon she had that had no expiration date. The woman behind the counter was really rude and immature telling my friend the coupon was from former ownership and that she wasn't going to come in here and try to get away with using it. After that I was given the simple syrup container for my drink, on the customer side of the counter, and the same woman grabbed the container out of my hand saying I wasn't going to be using six tablespoons of it and she would give me what she thought I should have...that was totally not enough. I said to her that I didn't say that, and went on to tell her she was being rude and the worse treatment from an employee I ever experienced. That's saying a lot too as I've been to thousands of restaurants and cafes. The experience was so upsetting to me that it triggered my PTSD and I started shaking. Luckily not in rage toward any people. I will never go here again nor recommend this place to anyone. That lady ought to be fired and banned from working in customer service. read more

Waited in line patiently only to have the owner serve his regulars as they walked in allowing them to bypass the line. When I made it known that I wasn't happy to be bypassed I was ignored by staff and told it was common practice by the regulars. Decent little coffee house in the village. Hot, iced, lattes etc all available. It was really quit when we went in there at 12:00 on a Tuesday but that's to be expected. Seemed like a cool place to hang out and read the paper or whatever you partake in. read more

Great local coffee shop -- I only ordered a latte to go but the service was quick and he made my drink exactly how I requested without any fuss (I can needy when it comes to my caffeine fix). Got an iced latte and hubby got a triple espresso on ice. Both were okay. Had to ask the owner for classic syrup to sweeten the drinks a little, the espresso wasn't strong enough. It was a nice experience, the outdoor seating was nice to just sit and drink coffee while watching the locals enjoy the Florida sun. read more

I was looking for a local coffee shop to work in for the morning and was so excited to find The Local Bean. The owner that took my order was very harsh as he gave directions. Feeling like a tourist, I thought it was just me. As I sit in the shop, I've seen him be rude to almost everyone. From the gentleman that accidentally asked for a Grande (the owner replied, "This isn't Starbucks") to the waitress that mentioned they needed to replenish the sugar ("It is right in front of you. We don't do packets!") he made me feel awful by his comments. The worst aspect? The fact that he then ranted to his co-workers for 20 minutes about each incident afterwards and remarked that he always made sure to smile and give a fake thank you prior to the guest leaving. They falsly think so highly of themselves and hate any mention of Starbucks. I am appalled! read more

I was given the name of Zach & The Local Bean by the staff at our resort. I was in contact with Zach SEVERAL TIMES and SEVERAL WEEKS before my wedding in regards to a lunch being delivered for six people (my bridal party) to my bridal suite while we were getting ready for the wedding. The subject of my email had the event date (10/10/14). The delivery time was 11:30am. I assumed that Zach would know how imperative it would be to be punctual on a wedding day, so when it became 11:45am, I called to see where my lunch was. The man that answered the phone (I'm assuming Zach, the owner?) basically told me that I was wrong and that I had ordered my lunch to be delivered on Sunday (10/12/14). I was pretty sure that I wouldn't have made such a critical mistake, and yes, he did offer to hurry up and fulfill our order and get it to us, but at this point, I was done and said no thank you. We went with getting lunch from a different deli and it worked out just fine. I eventually found my emails between myself and Zach, and where his confusion started was when I said I'd be looking forward to seeing him "At The Tropical Sun at 11:30am" - The Tropical Sun is the name of our hotel. NOT THE DAY OF THE WEEK! And yes, Zach did send me an apology email and offered to buy me a free coffee should I have wanted to stop by. Thanks, but no thanks Zach. read more

my boyfriend and i stopped in the local bean while we were vacationing in the area last week and it was a really great coffee shop to hang out at. the vibe was very welcoming and very chill. seems like a lot of people were friendly and knew the owner and the owner knew them. great customer service. the soy latte was pretty perfect! my boyfriend got a smoothie and you can see the fresh squeezed juice going in, which is a nice touch. seems like a lot of care went into the menu with fresh, organic and local offerings. i would definitely visit this place again and would recommend it to anyone looking for really delicious coffee drinks in a really comfortable atmosphere. read more
