This spot is such a hidden gem tucked away in the English Creek Shopping Center in Egg Harbor Township, I'm back! It has a small‑town, cozy vibe with booths and tables that make you feel right at home. I've been here several times and everything I've tried has been consistently fresh and delicious. Most recently, I ordered a garden salad with grilled chicken, even though I originally asked for a side salad, what came out was a huge, vibrant plate full of fresh veggies and perfectly cooked chicken. It was absolutely amazing. I've also had their tuna & turkey sandwiches, BLT and subs & all excellent. But my absolute favorite is the Souvlaki (Greek) Salad. It's outstanding every single time. I usually add grilled shrimp or chicken and you just can't beat it. It's huge, flavorful and always satisfying. They offer a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, including vegan choices, and there's plenty of parking since it's in a plaza. We stopped by The Local's Spot and were blown away by how good everything was. The food was genuinely tasty--especially the cheesesteak, which was absolutely phenomenal. The Reuben was delicious as well, and the spicy cheese curds were a fun and flavorful treat. The service was incredibly friendly, making the whole experience even better. And the prices? Why did it take me so long to discover this amazing gem, located right here in Egg Harbor Township, NJ? I had heard that the vegan options were good and I was happy to finally give it a try, but I wasn't getting overly excited. Ha! Was I ever surprised...and in the BEST way possible. They have vegan options for breakfast and lunch (see pics). I went with the French toast and an omelette (w/ mushrooms, onion, spinach + cheese). Comes with potatoes, which were cooked to perfection, and a choice of toast, English muffin, or bagel. I opted for an everything bagel (w/ vegan butter) and it was fresh, chewy, toasted perfectly, I mean-really good. I can't say enough about what a great experience I had. Our waitress, Danielle, was helpful with our order and explained that they are very careful about vegan orders, cross-contamination, and allergies. Delicious and high quality!) and very reasonably priced (as in, they should probably raise the prices but I don't want to tell them to do that because then I can't go as much). The menu has a nice variety and I've been working my way around trying the different items but it's really hard because I also have certain items I love and just want to keep eating. I have yet to try anything I don't like. There are great options for vegetarians but also plenty of meat lover items (great burgers, ribs, sandwiches, etc.) The staff is always sweet and friendly. The chef comes around and chats with the guests whenever he gets the chance. I've spent a lot of time working in the food industry and meeting chefs, he is possibly the most humble of any I've met. In the summer, I took my family to our first outing during the pandemic. The Local's Spot in Somers Point is a MUST!! It is extremely clean and such a pleasant environment to be in. If you have not gone yet, you are missing out! The staff is so nice and knowledgeable on the menu. Chef Kyrie cooks his food with love and passion. I had to give in and try the French Onion Burger not only once but four times in the summer. The French Onion Burger is the only burger I will eat and the quality of the meat is so delicious!
