Again, our third time to The Local Saloon. I got the CWH burger and fries. I had to move off patio because it was colder than expected, girl at bar told me to pick a seat anywhere so I picked one inside in the sun because I was chilly. Our waitress moved me immediately to a smaller table..... out of the sun.....okay.....Then I was asked what we wanted to drink, my friend hadn't arrived but she always drinks water. I said "diet coke and my friend will have water" and the waitress brought my drink then said "I'll ask her when she gets here." Is water at a premium or something??? The food was good, sandwich was as described and fries were good, but to be perfectly honest since every time I go, I get the waitstaff female with short platinum hair and she is always rude and short with me and it never gets any better. I thought it was maybe an off night but now I see that that is just her way. Its a convenient place to meet my friend but it's going to be Village Inn from now on. The place is very pretty inside and nicely decorated. The chairs are comfortable and the tables are pretty. The service was adequate nothing bad or memorable about it. The burger looked really good but it was definitely lacking in seasoning. The fries were hot and fresh. read more

If you like cheese curds- you have to try them here. Perfect blend of seasoning - I could have left happy after the appetizer. The coconut shrimp were also very tasty. My husband and our friends ordered burgers, no complaints there either. Service was great and prompt. Great place for a dinner out with friends. read more

The food was absolutely horrible. We started with the onion petals. To start with, they were lukewarm. I took a bite and I could not bite through the onion! The breading was mushy. My husband looked at me before I even said anything and said "these are awful". We thought oh well and the waitress was really nice and took them away and said she would take them off our bill so I was like ok fine. Then we ordered the filet beef tips and taters to share (I can only eat a little bit so we always share). Sounded really good on the menu. When it was brought out, it was 4 beef tips on a bit of mashed potatoes with free flowing gravy. I took one beef tip and some potatoes. I started eating and the first thing I put in my mouth was a bite of mash and gravy. You know those cheap packets of gravy you buy and mix with water? That gravy tastes better than the gravy we were served. The gravy was sooooo salty and had a bitter taste. My hubby said the same thing and he said let's go find another place to eat - I can't eat this. So we got up and was going to pay for the meal and the manager took it off and only charged for the beer he drank. We left the waitress a $10 tip because it wasn't her fault and she was very nice and apologetic. We eat out ALL the time and I can't even remember the last time we complained. But this food was just bad. We owned a restaurant a long time ago and there are different "levels" of food. We did the food tasting at Cisco and there was a huge difference between the levels. It's obvious that they chose to go with the lower quality of food. I'm not trying to be nasty but I'm 60 years old and this ranks up there as one of the worst dining experiences I have had. Went during lunch with two others, sat immediately and ordered soon after that. Our food did take a while to come out and my fries were cool. Pulled pork sandwhich was great and the people with me said their potato skillets were good. This restaurant is 21+ only which kind of strange only being in Huntington. Seems like they'd get more business otherwise. I'll definitely be back when I pass through. Food was decent and didn't have to wait too long. Hopefully they get a bit better though. read more

I was traveling through from out of state, neighboring restaurant was closed so I stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday... 2 adults with a 1 year old we were turned away. It seems odd a business this large, seemingly well designed and advertised from the outside had age restrictions for daytime business. read more

After eating lunch I went home and became very sick. It was definitely food poisoning. Will never go there again.

We went to the Local Saloon yesterday for the first time in over a year because I was craving one of their giant stuffed potatoes. What we got was what appeared and tasted like last nights microwaved leftovers, a cold seat, and an even colder waitress. My husband and I showed up around 4pm to an almost empty restaurant where we were escorted onto the cold patio and sat at a two top. My husband is hard of hearing so we prefer to sit next to each other so that we can talk without yelling, we asked if we could move to a 4 top right next to where we had been seated, the hostess said sure. The waitress immediately walks up and grabs the table, no introduction, no greeting, and begins pulling it across the restaurant and tells us that we are in her isle and she needed to make room so she could walk, ( we are both around 200 lbs,) she finishes and asks what we want to drink. Still no introduction. When she returned with our drinks she made a snarky comment about ordering and took our appetizer order, ( remember we knew what we wanted before arriving) we don't see her again until after it has been delivered to the table. While we are halfway through eating our app she finally takes our food order. Someone else brought the pigslop to the table and the waitress didn't bother stopping by again until she had two boxes and our check in hand. I questioned her as to when they stopped serving potatoes with there "giant potato" and was informed this is how they have always been. There was No potato in my meal! I wouldn't have presented that to a dog, it looked and tasted disgusting. As if the food wasn't bad enough the patio was cold and breezy, when another group was sat near us and got up and moved over because of the cold she told them that she could have easily fixed it. I spoke up loudly and said well please fix it because it is too cold and was completely ignored. We did not tip the waitress because she had not earned it, I have never left a restaurant feeling so offended and hungry, I used the short blonde haired ladies tip to buy some McDonald's on my way home. We have been to the local Saloon three times. The first time was during grand opening,we weren't even acknowledged, it was wall-to-wall people, so we turned around and walked out. Second time I had a nice lunch with one of my friends. The food was good, not fantastic and the service was the same. Third time I went, I got an extremely rude waitress named Tricia and as I saw in another one of the comments you're not quite sure if that's just the way she is all the time or what, but she doesn't have a very good poker face and she didn't like the fact that we didn't want to sit at the table she wanted to put us at, and she didn't like the fact that we asked her to recommend something from the menu. The food , the service, have both been hit and miss. I think it would be a great place if they could be a little bit more consistent with everything. read more

We have eaten here for dinner once and twice for lunch on a Saturday. We had dinner right after they opened and it was a madhouse. Very crowded bc it was new. The food wasn't hot and service was slow. We just figured it was bc it was new and totally slammed. Lunch on Saturdays was not great. There were maybe 5 to 6 tables of people in the restaurant both times. The waitresses moved very slowly, the food was not hot, we got soggy fries and over cooked burgers. Then we waited for 20 minutes to get the waitress to come to the table so we could get our check. We tried it twice just to be fair, and it didn't get any better. There needs to be a lot of improvement. It's a nice facility, so I hope they step up their game and improve. read more

We were in on a Saturday night. The place was packed but we scored a sit at the back bar. Randi did a great job keeping up with the bar plus all the walk ups. Food was a little slow. Was bummed that the Queso chicken was described as 2 chicken breasts yet I got 3 chicken tenders. It was good but disappointing it was not served as described. read more

Had the chuckwagon burger. Could have used a little more seasoning but overall it was quite good. Asked for medium rare and it actually came that way. A first. The burger was so tender, obviously fresh meat by the way it just melted in my mouth. Fries were hot and done right. We sat at a high top, normally not a fan, but they had a great foot rest that made it very comfortable. Overall the atmosphere is nice, the bathroom clean and we will definitely be back when in town. read more

I've tried twice and there won't be a third. The first time was good except our waitress Tricia. She was unnecessarily rude. At first I thought I was misreading her humor but I wasn't. The second time our waitress Tara was nice but after waiting an hour for a salad, I asked for the check. She got very upset. Then clearly told other wait staff. This review was written by my wife. Wing Quest - Week 6: This week we visited one of our favorite pubs, the Local Saloon in Roanoke. This establishment has a tastefully unique, casual western vibe with lots of warm woods, saloon-type bar & tables, outhouses (restrooms), carved cacti and much more. The menu has everything from great starters (pork belly!), to soups 'n salads, to huge baked potatoes stuffed with almost anything anyone could want, to artfully crafted flatbreads, to super burgers & sandwiches, to main course plates such as Beef Filet Tips 'n Taters. The servers are at the top of their game and always smiling. Having said all that, it hurts to give their chicken wings a less-than-stellar review. It's not that the wings are bad, just not to my liking. They come 8 to an order for $15.00 and can be prepared wet or dry. Wet wings choices are BBQ or Buffalo sauces. Dry wings may be finished with Buffalo, Chili-Lime, Lemon Pepper, or Salt & Vinegar rubs. We chose wet Buffalo and dry Chili-Lime. The Saloon's Buffalo sauce has a wonderful flavor but not too hot for the timid wingsters who may venture in. Their Chili-Lime rub has the very distinct tingle of the citrus alongside a pleasant bite of chili and is something we could eat on almost everything. It's that good! For me, the disappointment was in skin that was greasy rather than crisp and the meat on the drumettes resisted pulling away from the bone. Now, I know folks who would find these wings to be perfect, so I'll remind you all that my opinion is just that---an opinion and a difference in preference than some of you. We'll be back because we love the menu offerings, atmosphere, and service overall. We encourage you to give 'em a try as well! FYI: Full bar service is available, a large parking lot serves a lot of vehicles, and this place was created for the 21 and over crowd. Wing on! read more
