We came to try out the emporium and were not disappointed. The Wagyu burgers were amazing. Definitely didn't need any toppings if you don't want. We got one with Swiss and one with white cheddar. The burgers were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I know some state soggy buns but ours weren't. But maybe we ate them too fast before juices could soak through lol. Crispy fries and a side salad were the picked sides for us. The fries were crispy and good flavor. And can't beat their ketchup - think it's homemade. So good! Wagyu chili dog was good. Little tough on the skin to bite through but the flavor was good. But would def just get a burger next time. The chili was really good and we ended up topping the fries with it. Good food, cool place, very expensive... Been meaning to stop into JCE for some time and finally got a chance on a Friday for lunch with some coworkers... Surprisingly, they weren't busy at all. JCE has a real cool rustic old world feel and is nicely decorated. The service was excellent (the manager was very friendly and walked us through the menu). I ordered the wagyu Ruben and country bean soup - Both were good (the reuben was a brick). Coworkers got the wagyu burger, which they said was ridiculously good (I prob should have gotten the burger). All-in-all, pretty good, but outrageously expensive... My reuben (just the reuben) was $18. I ended up spending $37 for lunch with tip, which is pretty ridiculous. But I get it, the place is supposed to be high end (like the restaurant)... But based on how they were not busy (at all) for lunch on a Friday, they may want to rethink pricing. Maybe they make their $ on the retail store (some yuppie lady did walk in on a whim a spend $1000 on wine, so wth do I know)? The price of the food is high the value is low, they make a big deal out of wagu but to be honest it doesn't live up to the hype, then the service is moderate at best and the ambiance is let's just say they should take a few tip, suggestion look at a few top restaurants in New York. This is the lower cost version of their dinner restaurant down the street. Good place for lunch. They serve lunch type dishes based on their wagyu beef. I had their double cheese burger and it was a lot. Also super messy. I didn't need dinner after eating that. They also sell their wagyu beef products like steaks, hot dogs, burgers, and sausages their. I picked up a lentil sausage before I left and brought it home to eat with crackers and cheese. It was the best sausage I have ever had. Doubt I'll ever buy the steak to take home. New York strip was $95. But the sausage was accessible at around $15. read more

My mom and I have really enjoyed Joseph Decuis in the past and were excited to stop in again. We came for lunch and ordered the French Onion Soup, Surf n Turf Po' Boy Sandwich, and the Wagyu Burger. I asked for a water and they said they only had bottled water -- I asked if I could get just a cup of tap water and they said they would bring it to me. They brought out the soup, which was really good -- although $10 for a bowl was a little pricey to me. A different woman brought out the food and I asked again for my water since I hadn't received it -- the woman told me that they only have bottle water, but then the cashier mentioned that she told me I could have tap water. I was very happy to have the water because both of our meals were very salty -- the salt overpowered the other flavors, which was unfortunate. I did still enjoy my Po' Boy sandwich -- the crab and wagyu beef were cooked well. The bread for the sandwich was also softer than a lot of other Po' boy sandwiches, which made it easier to eat! read more

They typically offer fantastic food here and the service has always been great however both have DRASTICALLY declined since January of 2021. Every order we've placed for carry out over the past two months has been wrong. Every single time. Wrong ingredients, leaving out an entire meal, missing ingredients, dried up days old chicken used on salads, and other stale ingredients used. It's so inconsistent. We keep going because sometimes the meals are impeccably wonderful. The new service gals seem confused at best and too overwhelmed to do their jobs well. They need a good quality manager at this location for quality control and providing less erratic service so it can go back to the greatness it once was. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped there for lunch Saturday on a girl's shopping day out. Staff was very friendly but, the rest of our experience was a Big dissapointment. First off, you had to order at a counter, you didn't have a waitress come to your table to take your order. I was looking for a nice, fresh, brewed iced tea, but that wasn't the case. I was informed all there drinks were in bottles and you had to go to there cooler to help yourself, which I then had to ask for a cup of ice. The Chicken Salad we got was very good but kinda slim on the chicken. Would have been nice if they gave you a fresh slice of bread or a roll, but not the case. When it came time to pay, my bill for the Chicken Salad and bottled tea was $16.00.... Waaaay too expensive for what you got. I guess I was expecting a lot more being it was a part of Joseph Decuis. This is a small but elegant gourmet shop (including a wine store) that features a lot of local and artisan Indiana food items. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, just a bit too late for their lunch hour, but not too late to enjoy a nice pumpkin curry soup (self-serve). The shop is connected to the restaurant/farm/B&B in the same name. Great idea for a quick weekend escape from Fort Wayne. (Check out the Roanoke website for details.) On the same block as the Emporium, there are a couple other cute shops to check out (ice cream, bakery, & gifts), but it seems a lot close for winter. read more

The food was good... They actually had Gluten Free buns, which means I was able to have a burger. The Burger was juicy but very salty and we were overrun by flies (we had at least 6 around us). The most surprising thing was the staff seemed unphased by all the flies. read more

This review is solely based on the Blue Jeans, Burgers, and Beer Summer Series. We got there right at 5pm and had no wait time. The ambiance is amazing in their courtyard. Shaded tables, sturdy chairs, and live music. It was a little warm because we were sitting next to the grill. Having not been there before, I wasn't clear what door to enter. I apparently used the main entrance and the hostess seemed irritable that I did. Our server was nice, but a little forgetful and slow. There is a select menu (burger, coney dogs, bbq pulled pork) and all of the items are amazing. They do offer a kids menu too. $15-$20 for adults. They brought the fries before main course which was weird. The cookies were just ok, but I expected a lot more after the dinner I had. Would be nice if they took reservations. The tables all need to be a solid surface so that cups and plates could lay flat instead of wabbling. It was a very comfortable experience and we could have stayed for hours having drinks and enjoying the surroundings. read more

The food and people were really lovely, but I have to give them 1 star for food safety. One of my 16 month old son's chicken fingers was absolutely raw in the middle. The front of house woman apologized and took it back to show the cook. He never apologized or offered an explanation. Remarkably, they failed to offer to compensate us in any way. Soooooo, I paid for raw chicken, which is unacceptable.Uncooked chicken is a serious health hazard, especially for an infant. I hope this incident was a wake up call to them in considerations of food prep and safety. Similarly, I hope this review causes them to change their customer service. read more
