Cool spot on the water/yacht club. Inside and outside seating with views of the boats.water. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Outside has some picnic tables and regular tables. Inside has 2 separate bar areas with tables - clean and mix of modern/ocean. Food was both presented well and tasted well. Fish was fresh. Tacos could use a little more kick of flavor.

We dined here at the recommendation of family. Fior appetizer we had the hot krab dip and the burnt belly. Hot krab dip was tasty. The burnt belly was a bit tough and dry. I honestly didn't know that a Philly sandwich could be made to taste so poorly, but this place did it. I got the Locals Philly with shaved rib eye. The sandwich was complete mush void of any decent flavor. My partner got the loaf. The added bacon was the only flavor. The meatloaf alone was flavorless. Service was just ok. We had to ask for additional cocktails/refills rather than be asked if we'd like another. When server would bring additional so drinks they'd leave the previous glasses on the table which did nothing but crowd the table. I'm honestly not sure I'd go back.

I'm always looking for small cafes off the beaten path, and ChatGPT put this on our thrifting path and what a gem!! Right on the water with beautiful scenery! It was a little chilly to sit outside so we sat in the covered patio for the best of both! We ordered the fried green tomatoes which was absolutely amazing! My daughter and I ate every last bite, the sriracha aioli was the kicker! I asked our waitress for recommendations and I ended up with the brisket tacos which were heavenly! The brisket was cooked perfectly and sliced so thin! Amazing combination! My daughter got the fried fish sandwich and said it was amazing!! If we are ever back in the area, we would definitely go again! Highly recommend!!

Came in for lunch. We sat outside near the water. So peaceful. Service was excellent. We ordered and food came out literally less than 10 minutes. I had fish salad sammie and my husband steak philly. We both took 1/2 home. Food was delicious. This is our second time here and we will be back.

Had the mahi bronzed it was great, a little over for me, but had great seasoning and the fries were seasoned amazing!! The garlic butter is so garlic forward but really good if you like stuff like that. The unsweet tea was perfect and you cannot beat the view. On the sound in Niceville, married to the marina and overlooking the water. Absolutely fantastic view. They could feed me horse chow with views like that, but they feed you great service and great food.

YUM!!!!!! I visited the Local's Eatery at lunchtime with coworkers on a weekday. The weather was gorgeous and the parking lot was packed full, but the service was still so fast! We were seated upon our request outside within minutes and our waiter was bright and friendly. Their outside tables outlook the marina area and it's a beautiful view. I ordered the local's tacos with fish and they were great! I think I would've preferred the fish slightly crispier, but that's personal preference and I still think the food was great. The fries were well seasoned and the water cold. My coworkers both got burgers which looked equally delicious. This was the perfect place to get away from work for an hour while visiting Florida. A quick drive from FWB or Destin and definitely a worthwhile one for anyone interested in checking this restaurant out! :)

My friend suggested this spot for lunch today. Been here a few times before. Located right behind the marina. Parking is hit or miss but there are plenty of spots. We sat on the enclosed patio outside which was a very nice and quiet view. Big portions which I could have split. Everything tasted good and our waitress was amazing. Menu is limited but there is a lot on there. I'd def recommend a stop here.

This is my second time to the Local's Eatery. I ordered the fish sandwich first and it was fine over a lunch. I just ordered the seared ahi tuna and was very disappointed. It came out completely undercooked and very squishy in the middle almost as if I was going to a sushi restaurant (not sushi grade) to the point it could make you sick. The remake was the complete opposite and grossly overcooked like a tuna steak. Additionally, it was smothered in an overpowering sauce. Yikes. I posted photos of it all, including a screenshot of what I expect seared ahi tuna to look like. The service was fine, pretty normal/average. The restaurant is located along the bayou and on a nice, clear day it does provide a nice setting and probably what saves the restaurant from going out of business. I spoke with the manager, Lisa, and she became completely defensive on the feedback. Needless to say, I won't be back anytime soon.

Fantastic food right by the bayou. Service made it easy on me, just walk up to host, tell them you have a spot outside you'd like to sit and you're good to go. Really enjoyed sitting outside while chowing down on fried green tomatoes & a fish salad sandwich. Seafood was perfect with their sweet tea, would comeback for some cocktails or beer :)

My wife and I were driving around in Niceville looking for a great place to eat. We stopped at a couple of places but they were closed. So I started searching through Yelp and found this gem of a restaurant. We sat outside with a great view of the bay. Our waitress, Meghan, was very professional, friendly and attentive. She brought me a few samples of the locally crafted beers while we decided what to order. We chose the fried green tomatoes with lump crab as a starter. Honestly, this could just be a main course because it's so good. We also got the shrimp and fish tacos with fries. Everything tasted fresh and like it was made just for us. Came into the area after playing golf at Eglin Air Force Base. Just down the street. We are situated right on the marina. Beautiful views of the boats, sitting indoors and out. Staff was fantastic. Burgers were big and awesome. I had a chopped chicken and cheese sandwich that was awesome. French fries are good too. Well worth the money. read more

I wanted to go somewhere local so this seemed like a good place to go...the name helped a lot! The restaurant had a choice of indoor seating as well as outdoor to look at the scenery from the Emerald Coast Yacht Club. We decided to eat inside as we were with my parents and mom gets too hot with the humidity. We ordered our drinks and the crab dip for an appetizer which was phenomenal! I had a Cucumber Collins (very refreshing) & my husband a Mai Thai (very strong) to drink. I ordered the fish of the day which our server said was red fish which I have never had before but it was delicious. No fishy taste or smell, on a bed of potatoes mixed with onions, bell peppers, and sausage along side asparagus. I enjoyed my first first meal upon arriving to Florida as we literally just drove down from Tennessee and wanted some fresh fish to eat so this hit the spot perfectly! We closed out the meal with ordering a key lime pie which was to die for and my son ate most of it because he it's one of his faves and didn't want to share. read more

Great hidden gem! Glad to have found it. Aside from the waitress being a bit overwhelmed with customers during an end of the evening rush she managed to juggle every single table and not miss a request, mess up an order or leave anyone feeling forgotten. The food was ON POINT too! Fresh, flavorful, filling, reasonably priced (for the times) and delicious! We will most certainly be back. We had the fish burger, the Philly cheesesteak, and the redfish spinach salad! Every single one of us ate every bite on our plates, there were absolutely no left overs it was so good! Definitely give them a chance you won't be disappointed. read more

Had lunch here. Great setting in the marina. Had the fried green tomatoes. Delicious. Different. Loaded with crab meat and a great aioli The blackened Cobia sandwich was wonderful. The buffalo chicken sandwich was great as well. The food was delicious. The portions more than generous. The setting / atmosphere very nice and the service was wonderful. Hope to be back next year when we are in the area. Highly recommend. read more

Wanted a nice place for a quick lunch and this place hit the spot. I have the Red Fish blackened with fries and it was awesome. The fish dip was very good as well with some yummy pita bread to put it on. The staff was great and the location was great in the back of a marina. Definitely recommend this spot. read more

Just found this place and I will be back soon. We lived in New Orleans for years and the restaurants there are excellent so I was greatly disappointed in the choices that were in this area. There are a few restaurants that are good but not many. The Local's Eatery ranks in the same category as New Orleans. Along with the meal shown we had the crabmeat dip, seafood tacos, redfish with asparagus and garlic potatoes and finished with the peanut butter/ strawberry cheesecake and key lime pie. So good!!! The bread that came with my dinner choice was excellent!!! So happy to have found The Local's Eatery, our very favorite place to dine now. The service was fantastic and so friendly. The owners came out and checked on us and to visit. Great guys! No wait on any of our food. Perfect temperature on each plate. We have found the place to go to for special events and to just meet up with friends and have a wonderful meal!!! Our go to place from now on! read more

The comments and the ratings for this place lead me to come visit since my hotel was just across the street. Everyone talked about how good the grouper was so that's what I came to try out. Now, I don't want to try to pull the race card, but my experience there with this particular waitress named Shay led me to believe she didn't want to wait on me because of my color. I could be wrong but that's the only logical conclusion I could come to. When I arrived I sat outside by the water with most of the other tables taken. The host sat me at a high top table and it was just a seating for one person. I looked around and everyone was having conversations among themselves. I also noticed that I stood out. I was the only black person there. So, I waited patiently for my waitress or waiter to come greet me and take my order. 5 minutes go by, no one came, 10 minutes go by, no one came, 15 minutes go by, no one came, 22 minutes go by still no one came. Now during this entire time a waitress that's walked past me at least 6 times going to all the tables that circled my table. So I'm assuming she's got to be my waitress. She never came. Another waitress from the other side came over after a 25 minute wait and asked me nicely has anyone came over to wait on me yet. I said no. She said let me see whose supposed be taking care of you. She leaves then comes back and asked me if she could take my order. I said sure and ordered my food. When she brought my appetizers to me, I asked who is the waitress for this table, she said hesitated and said Shay. I pointed to the one who I thought was my waitress and asked is that Shay. She said yes. Then she said, that Shay she said that she knew she had forgotten a table. Mind you she walked beside me on both sides, behind me and in front of me and looked at me several times. When a group of women, white women, came in Shay eagerly arranged seating for all of them and greeted them promptly and offered them drinks before order. Then she looks my way with a sly grin on her face. That looked confirmed my beliefs. Marie was the waitress that happily helped me and I know she knew what was happening because she was so attentive. Marie got a $20 tip on a order less than $30. This experience has really made me look at some things differently. Although the food was okay I think this will be my last visit to this establishment. The 2 stars are for the crab cakes and Marie, the waitress that came to take my order. read more

OMG ~ this place is so delicious. It is tucked away beside emerald coast marine on the water. There's covered outdoor seating. Live music was playing inside which is broken up into two rooms. We were seated inside immediately (away from the music). The staff was friendly and on point. THE FOOD was Sensational. It was fresh and it was delicious. I traveled from Fort Walton Beach to eat here and I will do it again and again. read more

The scenery is great. Outdoor and indoor dining is available. The fried green tomatoes are a 5/5. We were a party of 5 and we all ordered different entrees. My wife and I drove over from Texas and were visiting our daughter and her husband. They like this restaurant so brought us here. It was excellent. The fried green tomatoes were uniquely wonderful, a dish which was presented with shrimp. I've not had such, but surely will again! I had the "Groupen" (grouper prepared as.Ruben), the fish was cooked perfectly and the bread and Kraut very complimentary. I will return for that, too! My wife had the "loaf," meat loaf prepared with barbecue and bacon, a very tasty and striking combination. All of our food, and service were laudable. Quite a treat, and the prices were reasonable. read more

Our second time eating here and both times we thoroughly enjoyed it. On this visit I had the bacon wrapped smoked meatloaf with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. It was delicious. My boyfriend had the fish tacos with fries. He ate every bite. The service was excellent and the food was hot and fresh when it arrived. Stopped by yesterday afternoon for lunch with friend and was served by Lindsay I believe. Great location and great views. Lindsey was very quick and full of good information when we told her it was our first time. Great fish tacos and the best key lime pie I have ever had. We were so full and planned on taking it home but sat there and finished it. We'll definitely stop again. read more

I came here on a Sunday with my husband and some friends. I was very impressed with this place! The service was fast and friendly. Our server was not only patient with us but she was very attentive to our needs. No one at the table had to ask for a thing. Our drinks were always kept full. I ordered the house Bloody Mary and it was uhhhh mazing! Loaded Bloody Mary with bacon, olives and lots of pickled veggies. I also ordered the "Groupen" and it was fantastic. The Groupen is their version of a Ruben with grouper fish instead of meat. Melted cheese, breaded fish, on toasted bread. #winning! I was very impressed by the whole experience. Not to mention this place has an amazing view! It's right on the bay. Perfect for cocktails and appetizers while watching the sunset! read more

Everything was fantastic!!! Great atmosphere right on the water over looking the Mariana. Had the fish dip, burger, meatloaf sandwich, and peanut butter cheesecake!! Only one of my photos turned out the SMOKED meatloaf sandwich on buttery crispy sourdough was fantastic!!!! Hubby LOVED the burger! read more

Tried out this new restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The food we ordered was fantastic! We got the mussels which are in this very tasty wine broth and comes w Texas style toast; personally it would go better with baguette. Also ordered the smoked wings and fries; both were very good. The server didn't bring utensils, guess she thought they wouldn't be needed eating wings or maybe with it being first night open overlooked. Of the minimal taps available 3 or 4 were out so that made for bad selection. Will come back to try again once they've been open for a while. read more

Great eatery!! Friendly, helpful staff, huge portions of fabulous food. I'd do this again for sure. You have to drive down the hill past the Marine Store to get to it, just a hint! You can't see it from the hwy., but it's worth looking for!! read more
