We've been in a handful of times, and the first couple, there seemed to be real promise. Last time, most of us found the food just OK except the one person getting more than their money's worth of crab legs. This time, we understood why service was on the slow side, with live music going on outside, and welcomed the chance to sit and talk, but the food ranged from delicious to disappointing. Orders: - parm truffle fries: ok but everything was under the fries, so the bottom 1/3 was SO HEAVY with the truffle oil compared to the top as to be unpleasant. - whatever the sweet potato loaded tots are, minus bacon: Amazing. No notes. - Whatever the vampire wing flavor is: needs more garlic. kidding!! delicious - Fish and chips: didn't see a problem here, but friend complained hers was too big - Ribeye: disappointing, very gristly. Broccoli side was neither trimmed nor particularly cooked. O'rings were soft, not crisp, even when fresh. - Meat in the Reuben was so overdone that my adult child mistook part of it for bacon. Fries and beer cheese were tasty, though - berry salad: salad generically fine, $8 steak tips add on appeared to be frozen, processed "steak-ums" or similar rather rthan anything fresh or house-made. Found a new favorite spot for good food and drinks. You can tell Eagle's Nest cares about every plate they deliver to each customer. The quality of the food was *chefs kiss*. We used to enjoy going for special occasions and last Valentine's day the menu and food was FANTASTIC! We went 6 weeks later to celebrate a birthday and what a disappointment! The menu had changed (it was fixed for V-day) and our favorite wasn't there. The place stuck like a wet, sour, mop. I feel bad about making another negative review, but after waiting a month since my first review, I decided to give them a second chance. They have their pricing set to present themselves as a high end restaurant, but ambience, service, price, and food, don't measure up. Last night I tried their weekly prime rib dinner at $40, plus drink, plus tip for total around $55. Had to ask twice for dressing for salad, then had to search other tables for salt and pepper. Not a game changer, but would have been nice to have some bread. Prime rib was over cooked, and almost impossible to cut with a knife. Had to ask for a steak knife, by the way. Ate about half of it, and gave up. Restaurant needs to put some serious thoughts into providing an experience worthy of their pricing. I have to assume they feel they have a captive audience with the golf course business, so you take what you can get. Will probably not give them a third chance. read more

We gave this place two tries. We came opening night for The first time, and I got the pork chop for dinner. It came with the carrots and the sweet potatoes. The portion was nice and the presentation was fantastic. Unfortunately my pork chop was a bit dry and not very flavorful. I don't usually reach for the salt and pepper on the table, but the pork needed just a bit more seasoning. The carrots were also hard/crunchy and not tender as I was hoping. I felt like this place has so much potential so we went a second time a couple weeks later. That time, I got the corned beef with garlic mashed potatoes and collards. The corned beef had great flavor, and I loved the fatty parts of the corned beef. The collards were very very salty and the garlic mashed potatoes had a weird aftertaste. I feel like they may not taste their food when they're seasoning it. I want to keep giving this place a chance. Maybe I'll have to try something else next time. Overall the place is very nicely decorated and the staff is accommodating. The food just needs some slight improvements! This place has a bunch of potential. read more

Went for lunch with a friend. We were greeted and seated quickly. Ordered sandwiches. I had a club and she had the reuben. Both came with fries. Everything was good. Service was attentive but not bothersome. The price of each lunch was $17.51, which is pretty good these days. We'll definitely go back. read more

We came in with a table of 4 and waited over an hour for food. We kept asking for updates and had to hunt people down. Tables around us that got there after us got their food way before us. Also it seemed like (and i dont know im making assumptions) but seemed like the tables that had all white people on it got their food first. Also the owner tried to tell us it was gonna be ok and was literally touching us and rubbing our backs like an uncomfortable amount. At the end of it we didnt even get a discount or anything for waiting forever. The venue is beautiful and it has so much potential but it needs new management, owners, staff, etc. side note. Came here a couple weeks ago for the prime rib and it was spot on. Went back again tonight for the all you can eat crab legs and they were awesome. Definitely got our money's worth. This place is AMAZING! It's relatively quiet, with exception to fellow patrons, of course. Smells great, good amount of lighting. Darn delicious food! The waitstaff is not overly chatty and clingy/annoying. They were perfect! Checked up on us at our precise desired intervals. For the quality and quantities, the prices are fantastic! It was a wonderful, fun outing for my children and I. We got the Leave Me Alone, I Don't Know, One Heck of a Reuben, and I got the Red Bay Shrimp Corn Tortilla Tacos. For appetisers, we got the Giant Bavarian Pretzel, Black Truffle Parmesan Fries, Honey Butter Cornbread, and free chips and amazing salsa was also furnished. We had Tres Leches cake for dessert. My family and I went here on a Saturday night and 3 of us got really bad food poisoning. We all had the smash burger and it tasted okay and it looked fine but before we even left all of our stomachs were hurting. I'm assuming it was a contamination issue... heard such great things about this place so i took my family to check things out, we arrived shortly after 11 and were the first ones there, followed by a few others. we quickly placed our order (2 wings and a kids pizza) and it took 45 minutes to make its way to us, we heard other servers saying the kitchen was a slow start and servers called out. we never received refills on drinks or any updates on food. when we had finished eating we asked for the check, after receiving the check it took another 15 minutes just to have it collected, i fully understand if it had been busy, but it just wasn't. we watched our server and management tend to others, but honestly dont think we will be back. food was ok, but service just lacked. read more

I call this review "A Work in Progress". Having lived in Crestview for over 10 years I am the first person in line to welcome and support a good restaurant. God knows that Crestview is a culinary waste land. Before I wrote this review, I visited Eagle's Nest for lunch and dinner. I had their smash burger and my wife had the Reuben. Both selections were excellent, though the fries came out cold. As a golfer myself, I find the menu selection about right for a Golf Course restaurant, though maybe slightly high in price. Where I believe the restaurant needs to reinvent itself is the dinner menu. My wife and I went there on a Thursday so Barbeque Plates were the special for the evening. The portions were adequate and the taste was fine. My biggest issue is the pricing of this meal and the entire dinner menu. $22 for a single meat selection with two sides would be fine if you didn't have another local restaurant that had the same offering (albeit better tasting) at $17. In addition, the main dinner menu, once again, had a price point that, in my opinion, is extremely high for the ambiance and quality of food. Again, this is Crestview, and, if you want to charge Destin prices, you need to provide Destin quality. Here is a quick suggestion. Make the meeting room area a fine dining area, ie table cloths, no TVs, etc. For me, sitting in a diner both and my dinner costing over $100 just doesn't hack it. read more
