They also didn't tell me that I had to paint all the work that they did, myself (might be important to know when you make the deal!). After they were done, they rushed out of here without giving me a walkthrough or an inspection. I was lucky to find a couple of problems myself before they drove away and had to chase the boss outside before they bolted to the next job. They left gummy stickers and brown wrapping material all over the glass. (My wife and I took 2+ hours to remove it) They damaged some of my moulding that I had to repair. They didn't even caulk the window, door or trim work and there were ugly gaps in the trim that I ended up doing myself just to get rid of this outfit. I found the warranty info in an envelope on the floor after they left. Very bad. Communication? failing grade. Have fun getting them to respond to an email or a call. Forget this company. I had let them know that I needed more work, a front door and some others. They never even responded. Guess my needs aren't important enough for them. I paid the balance in cash and the boss refused to give me a receipt (he said he didn't have any) until he got home to email it. I sweated that one out. In conclusion, I know I got a break on the price but that is NO excuse for doing a shoddy job or for the boss not to inspect the team's work afterward or even return phone calls or respond to emails. Will not use again. I'd rather pay more somewhere else for a pro job. Never again.

The unit was one of their best made, the Professional I model. It's weakness is it is a belt drive and after 17 years it was time for a service. Eli recommended a new rail in addition to the belt which includes all new related parts given the units age. This turned out to be an excellent recommendation because there was a hidden broken adjuster. The motor is guaranteed for life and runs as if it was new. The job was finished in a little over an hour with balancing, tune up and lubrication at 1/2 the cost of a new unit. It is difficult to find qualified contractors in the Ventura County area. The technician wore a mask and was on time. The surprise came when I paid the invoice. A service call charge of $65 which I expected. What I didn't expect was a labor charge of $72.50 to troubleshoot and replace the lock. The total bill for a new lock came to $203. My expectations were that the service call would include any troubleshooting and replacing. Maybe this is how business is done now. A charge to show up and a charge to do the actual work? I paid the invoice but I will be calling another locksmith in the future.
