If you live in the area, don't mess around, go with this company! I work in cybersecurity and they get PHYSICAL security. I had another company rekey my new house at the time of move-in and though that technician was great, they messed up on my front deadbolt, so my key would fit-in fine, but wasn't properly unlocking since move-in. The other tech was blaming it on my hardware, but this company came and saved my on a Friday night when this key suddenly would unlock my security door. The tech was able to unlock the door and "reseat" the inside of the lock column in minutes and even charged a bit less than their dispatch quoted me (I may have some terminology wrong, but trust me, he definitely could have gone a different direction here and made me rekey all locks and get new keys instead). Their Dispatch rep was also phenomenal to work with too. They were even APOLOGETIC to me about their ETA time because of other work that this rep was on. While I was there I decided on getting a spare key for my 2021 Jeep Compass. They had to order the key. I returned and had another duplicate Jeep key made, which was identical to the original and at a significant discount compared to a Jeep dealer. I needed a second key programmed for a used car I just bought. I was headed to the dealership until my mechanic recommended The Lock Shop. Saved a lot of money (they charge far less than the dealership)! They have a huge selection of keys but didn't have the right one for my car. But it's okay because they got it ordered in one day. Talked to two different people on the two different days I was there and both were super knowledgeable, helpful and friendly which are things that always make me want to come back and also to share my experience with others! Little side note: for a few extra dollars, ask them to make a metal key for your car. It won't have a computer chip in it so it won't start your ignition, but it will unlock the door and if you ever need another key programmed, it'll save you money because it can be used to make one of those programmed keys. The lock mechanism on one of our French Doors broke and, without The Lock Shop's involvement, we would have ended up having to replace the entire door set. Window Mart (who manufactured the doors) was being problematic in honoring their lifetime warranty because the hardware had been discontinued (but was still available aftermarket). Kathy at The Lock Shop worked with Window Mart to settle our warranty claim and order the parts. Stephen came out several times and had to do some modification to get the parts to fit, but he kept at it and now our doors are as good as new! He was polite and professional and a pleasure to have in our home. Do not go to your dealership to purchase a spare key for your vehicle. The dealership MIGHT charge you twice as much as these folks. The dealership MIGHT not even have the key in stock. The dealership MIGHT not tell you they will have to order the key while setting up your appointment even though they already have all your vehicle information on file. Lastly, don't even bother with another locksmith if you are expecting fast, easy and friendly service. Other locksmiths MIGHT give you attitude and make you wait before realizing they cannot help you either. read more

The doorknob on the side garage door turned, but the internal mechanism would not retract the latch. So, for the next two weeks, I began a journey of sweat, toil, and anger. I searched the Internet and YouTube for answers and tried several hopeful remedies. Removing the door hinges was first, but after viewing their configuration, it was not possible. I won't go into everything. I tried hoping tomorrow I would win. On my last day trying, the thought of destroying the door came to mind but faded after some rest. I searched the Internet and saw a conversation post about others with the same problem at their wit's end. A person replied with a simple solution, "You may have to call a locksmith." A month prior, a family member had all their locks rekeyed. They gave me the name of this company, and I called the next day within minutes of them opening. They scheduled me the same day and within a few hours of our availability. The technician immediately retracted the latch and opened the door. I felt dumb, although I was told there was nothing I could have done since these situations occur. Instead, a new internal mechanism was installed with the same knob. Expect a service fee and other related costs. In this case, I should have called earlier. It was worth it. During the last 3-years, I have had many contractors of many specialties at my house for big projects. But unfortunately, their excuses, shoddy work, and laziness have jaded me where I dread calling anyone to provide service. The BIG deal of our interaction with the Lock Shop was the promptness, friendliness, and straight-to-the-point service, with no upselling. Customer service is an absolute lost art these days. That said, the family at The Lock Shop definitely have a passion for perfecting that art and providing that to their customers. To preface this review, I had been having car starting issues. I had a very old and janky remote/ chip key and the car would intermittently start. I placed two calls into AAA the first of which sold me on a new battery. The second call when I continued to have issues assured me it wasn't my battery but was my key. So when I finally placed a call into "the LOCK shop" I was clearly a bit exhausted with all the running around. The LOCK Shop eased my frustrations from the very beginning of my experience. The representative on the phone was very knowledgeable, asked all sorts of questions and actually listened. Within 30 minutes I had a technician, Jeff, I think his name was, out to my house to swoop up the key and cut it at the shop. He was back to my house within 30 minutes and programming my key. Jeff was able to diagnose the starting issues I was having to be an overlooked joint on my battery that was loose that he ended up tightening down for me which resulted in my car starting every time. So, while I didn't necessarily NEED a new key right away, I got one as a result of AAA telling me it was my key and I was GLAD about it even though It was their overlooking the problem that caused me to spend an unexpected chunk of money on a new key. Thanks to Jeff and the rest of The Lock Shop, I now have a brand new key which works amazing, my car starts every time, and I can rest assured knowing they gave me the best deal and the absolute best customer service. Lost the key to my Jeep and replacements were back-ordered at my dealer. Found an OEM replacement on-line and brought it here to be programmed. Took about 20 minutes and they charged a bit less than their quote. Note that they also sell replacement units here and programming is a bit cheaper if you buy the unit here. We are so happy to have chosen The Lock Shop to service our new home! From requesting a quote to completing the job, The Lock Shop team was courteous, thorough, and provides service at a great price. We ended up needing a couple deadbolts and they were kind enough to go to Lowe's up the street from our home to pick them up and install them as part of the job. In total we had something like 8-10 locks that needed to be re-keyed, plus 3 garage remotes paired, and a garage key pad re-set to a new pin. Everything was complete in about an hour! He had us test all the keys, remotes, and new pin before requesting payment, and even showed us the somewhat scary DIY job the previous owners had done on a couple of the locks (zip-ties!).
