Great experience here! I brought in an Amazon sidewinder key blank, but the master key I provided was slightly off, so the duplicate didn't work. My key and remote for my 2011 Miata, which has Advanced Keyless Entry (AKE) got destroyed. I had only a spare key, no remote. I got a replacement key and remote off Amazon, gambling that it would work, since the dealer wants many hundreds to replace it. The key has a transponder chip in it, and has to have the car programmed to accept it and the remote in order to work. Tried another locksmith who couldn't figure it out, then I brought it to Mike and Jill at Pennington. They didn't have the exact answer in their database, but were able to cut the key and program it with the database entry that they had for $110. Now that I know it'll work, I'm ordering a 2nd one that I'll bring back to them to program. read more

Called to schedule an appointment to match 4 existing locks to one key, they told me the cost was approximately $40 per lock but more for a digital lock and more if I don't have a key. They never told me there was an $89 trip charge even if I paid them for my locks. They are 8 miles from my house and charged me $89 for the trip fee! The total for only 2 locks was $170. When I called back to say I was not aware of the $89 she argued with me saying, "Its right here in my notes." Being in your notes does not mean I was told about the fee, I would have never hired you at that price. Do it yourself, just google it. That's what I should've done. read more

They did what everybody else said it was not doable. It was a car key, to be programmed and cut. The dealer asked the customary $400.00 for a key, other locksmiths said it cannot be done, Pennington said "I don't see why not". And it was done in a matter of minutes. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I just tried to have an overpriced key fob returned Because it was not working. The key fob has never worked right since I bought it. All I wanted was for the key fob to work, but the guy said he had no idea how to fix it. The only thing he knew how to do was program it. The locksmith just looked at the key fob and said he did not know why it was not working. He kept trying to blame it on a bad battery but we put a brand new battery out of the package into the key fob. I told them that it has not worked the entire time I've had it from them. But they kept hiding behind a manufactures warranty and did not try to do the right thing. They were condescending, unwilling to work with you, and greedy. If they don't know how to fix it, they should not sell it! They have no business doing key fobs. Do not use this company for anything other than cutting a key. read more

Pennington Locksmith was a simple and easy fix to get a spare car key for my vehicle. I had gone a long time without one and after my wife lost her only key in the store (thankfully we found it) we decided it was time to get a spare for each of us. They were very friendly and the cost was great. I did not have them program my key fob for my vehicle and have been regretting it ever since... as I still have no idea how to do it and don't think I can. First of all, this company ACTUALLY has their own storefront which means their address doesn't take you to some random neighborhood or the post office (like most locksmiths in the area).
