Excellent storage place with great prices. I called in advance to see if a 5x10 unit was available at the price listed online. They let me know it is and that it also comes with 1 month free. They also very politely informed me that to get this discounted rate I'd need to officially reserve the unit on the website or in person - with no payment necessary to reserve. And then that price would be guaranteed for the next 10-14 days or so even if the listed price goes up. So if you want the low price, just reserve it and cancel it if you change your mind! With that being said, please ignore the 1 and 2 star reviews below (which honestly look like they were written by the same person). Obviously they didn't follow directions. And the only fees I had was the one-time $25 initial startup fee. And then every month, charged for energy surcharge at $3 and an insurance/protection plan at $10. So I'm not sure what "hidden" fees people are talking about. And yes if you use the unit for 5 days, you pay a prorated price for 5 days - not rocket science. Last tip, if you're thinking of canceling your lease, make sure to cancel within the 1st 10 days of the month - if you do that you'll only be charged a prorated amount. If you wait til after the 10th day you'll be charged for a full month. Anyways the service here was great - very friendly and helpful. The units are very clean and well kept. Very safe. Id come back again in a heartbeat. read more

A great facility. Located on Route 347, it is clean and secure. The rates are very reasonable (you can usually find an internet special), and there are several layers of security in place, so you never have to worry about your items. In order to get into your unit, you have to enter your own, unique code 3 times: once to enter the gates, once to get into the building, and once to operate the elevator. Then, your unit itself has its own lock that you provide. April and her staff are outstanding, always helpful, very accommodating. Thanks for all the help when I was there. read more

This establishment is top notch. The service is excellent. We were helped by a man named Thor and he was more than accommodating. The unit we were given needed a new lock and within the hour, Thor had it replaced. The unit was great too of course. Highly recommend them. read more

Outstanding self storage facility. I happened upon this facility because it was across the street from our temporary apartment. The staff was courteous, helpful, reliable and overall just superb. I called this place 2 weeks in advance for a storage and they told me the price is $81/mo. When I went there they charged me a lot more than expected and I ended up having to pay $185 for 1 and a half months for things like service fee, utility charge, etc. I wish they had told me earlier that I had to pay about double the amount anticipated. read more

I have stored my stuff in one of their 5x10 units for the past year and I have no complaints. They charged me a great price for at least 10 months until the special expired; they will send you email alerts and you can pay via credit card on their website or just have them charge automatically. I have gone back from time to time if I'm in the area to retrieve or place things back and it hasn't been a hassle. Its temperature and moisture controlled, has various layers of security and I think its a fair price. The staff who set me up was very polite. I'd store here again. read more

They bump the rent up every year. I chose this place over others because the rent was around $40 a month. Now, three years later, it's close to $75 a month. I would have taken my stuff out of there years ago, but they don't ship anything and I live too far away and can't afford to go get it. Having this bill that increases in cost every year is a burden on my life. I hate it. I should have went with Uhaul, maybe they would have at least shipped my stuff out to me for a price. read more

My family has stored belongings here since 2005. It is very clean and safe - as a woman I never worried about going on my own and the bathrooms are always spotless. Though the best part of the facility without a doubt is the Senior Property Manager April Monteleone. She's been working there since 2005 and is terrific! While she only sees us a few times a year she always remembers us by name and greets us with a smile. Always willing to help you in anyway she can, she runs a tight ship and it shows in how well the property is kept. Keeping our belongings at The Lock Up was out of our way, but we liked April and the facility so much that we stayed for 11 years. Unfortunately The Lock Up's corporate office kept raising our rate (April sadly has no control over the rates) and it got to a point that we decided it was better to have our storage closer to our home. Even during the move-out process April was extremely helpful. We are so thankful to her and we hope the corporate office knows what a gem they have on their hands with her. She is a true example of outstanding customer service. read more

The Lock-Up Self Storage is by far the best storage facility in Suffolk County. A few years ago I was in the process of having a new home build for my family and I. During the construction my wife and I were purchasing a lot of household items and furniture and we soon needed a place to store all of these items until the construction was completed. I did a lot of shopping around at storages facilities throughout central Suffolk county. At first I was skeptial about putting my things into storage because many of the previous places I had visited lacked security. As soon as I walked into the Lock-Up I knew that this was the place I wanted to store my stuff. They have a great security system in place equipped with multiple cameras which made me feel at ease about leaving my things in a storage unit. The building and grounds itself were also very clean and much more nicer than other storage facilities. The staff was also more than helpful and kind. They also offered their box truck for use to move into the storage unit, free of charge, which I found to be extremely helpful. There is also always hand carts available throughout the facility to help with moving things into and out of my unit. The rates for their storage units were always very reasonable and well priced. I absolutely love the Lock-up and would recommend this storage facility to any and everyone. read more
