Remodel the place. Perfect scene for an apocalypse movie! The ice machine area was FILTHY like it's never been cleaned.... Never again!

This place I stayed in was a sweet. It had a mattress in the couch that looked like someone got shot on it, the heater either was full heat or no heat. There was no coffee maker in the room but had the coffee and items there, the light fixtures either were broken or didn't work. There was no onsite management to complain to. If you had an issue you had to drive up to the casino front desks to complain. The card key both stopped working. And no we didn't put them close to cell phones or anything, left in truck in sun visor for that very reason. One half role of toilet paper . Toilet also somehow was plugged up on second day so at 0230 in the morning it flooded the bathroom with water as to the toilet kept running. Then where was the breakfast located at? Never was told anything about it. The main building was locked up and says take all issues to the casino front desks which is a 1/4 mile away. Yes the place is pet friendly, so friendly that there was dog droppings everywhere around the pool area. My dogs went out with me and stepped in some and came back in and got it on the blanket that we had to ask for the bed in the couch. Yes we had to ask for extra blankets. For a sweet this is worse than a motel 6. read more

Cliff Castle Lodge is... fine. Not great, not terrible. Just fine. It took a little bit of effort every time to get the door to open because it seemed to stick for some unknown reason. Also, the ice machine on the 2nd floor didn't work. The room had a smell I couldn't place that IDK like dusty air freshener and maybe grandma used too much cleaner. The pool? Slightly murky and full of leaves. Staff? Gave major "ugh" energy. We had to check in at the casino itself and to be quite honest, there were pretty darn rude. But here's the thing... here's something about it. I loved nighttime out on the balcony. The casino's solid, the view is stunning, and it's quiet in a kind of sexy, empty way. Perfect for disappearing for a night. Not ideal for a honeymoon, but perfect for a "don't ask questions, just kiss me" kind of escape. Like if you want a secret off the beaten path place to take your lover that you're hiding from your friends kind of vibe. Not a place I'd bring someone to impress, but for a low-key escape, a hot little fling, or a night where expectations are as low as the room lighting? It gets the job done. Don't forget to get your rewards card at the casino because the buffet there at night has a wonderful surf and turf, and that card gets you a coupon. I wish I would have read the reviews here before our stay. This place is a rat hole. Reception/lobby is not on site, but combined with the hotel in the casino building. Service is beyond poor, staff acts ignorant. No coffee maker in the room, no possibility to get hot water, no vending machines, zero comfort. Suite smelled like cigarette smoke, was not really clean and even missing advertised furniture. The pull-out sofa looked like someone got shot in it and the "repair" of the only lamp in the bedroom looked like a 3 yo came across some adhesive tape. AC didn't work right, toilet plugged up under normal use. We had to clean up the mess ourselves, because the phone in the room wasn't working either and no staff on site. Management ignored my complaint right away. Under no circumstances would I ever stay in any Cliff Castle accommodation again. read more

Apparently the Lodge is part of the Cliff Castle Casino, SHAME on the Cliff Castle Casino for even being part of this RUN DOWN apartment complex-style "lodge" rental. If you saw the "great" deals for The Lodge and have never been to the Camp Verde area, do yourself a favor and do not book a room (or in my case, 3 rooms over Thanksgiving holiday 2020) here. 7-1 star Yelp reviews do not lie! As we pulled up to check in up at the Cliff Casino we were all a bit surprised and happy that we were checking into the hotel casino. WRONG, the Lodge is down the hill from the casino in the DUMPS and not in the main hotel casino. The Lodge rooms had dirty carpets, run down rooms, loud AC units, weak WiFi, stuffed bathroom sink, all you could ask for with a 1-star rating. We had booked 3 rooms for 3 families and unfortunately 1 of the rooms even had a hypodermic needle on the floor when they walked into the room. Luckily it wasn't a "drug" type of needle but maybe an insulin needle with medical writing on the needle and an orange cap. Didn't matter though, the maids and cleaning crew should have noticed it. We called the front desk and sent down 2 security guards to investigate and pick up the needle. All we got was a thank you and nothing else! The parking lot was also crowded as it was Thanksgiving weekend and there was also a rodeo in town. Be careful of the parking lot as the lighting sucked and super dark, don't leave anything in your parked cars as the The Lodge parking lot is easily accessible from the main street and freeway. We were passing through on our trip from Los Angeles to Utah, the Grand Canyon to Sedona then back home. We had kids with us so we were looking for affordable accommodations and the Lodge was the most affordable at that time. Just don't stay here. Camp Verde is about 30 mins from Sedona. Just stay in Sedona or up at the main casino hotel. read more

I stood at The Lodge one night for a conference and it is the worst hotel I have stood at. The first room was not what I reserved and the lights and AC were broken. The second room had stains on the carpet, a loud AC, and dirty bathroom. I could hear everything going on in the room next to me. The rooms in the casino hotel are much nicer than The Lodge. read more

There was a lot of activity in the room above me.... They were walking back and forth, dropping thing and it sounded like they were moving furniture all night I was fine since I had my 9mm with me. Fairly clean with the exception of coffee left in the coffee pot. read more

This is the kind of dive that is typical of a rent by hour motel. Filthy, stained, stinking, decrepit and dangerous. You can stay in a room located between the hooker and the meth lab and probably listen to both at the same time. Wouldn't stay here on a bet. If you do, good luck. Casino/hotel staff don't care, and are used to the complaints so don't expect any kind of acceptable response. As others have already stated; this dump deserves less than one star. read more

Yikes worse than a motel 6. Stay in the main casino. Not only will you get better service, the rooms are way cleaner and more up to date.and your key barely works part of the time. You can't use the main pool in main casino, Wich sucks because they don't take care of their pool there was dirty diapers on the side and chapstick floating in the pool. The juccuzi was green. On a final note please consider moving the coffee out of the bathroom it's highly unsanitary. Who want to make coffee where they and other people have pooped. read more

I stayed in The lodge at Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde, az. It's totally disgusting! It should be a -3 stars. It's a motel and not a hotel, not a lodge. It should be condemned and the health department should be called! In fact I am going to contact anyone and everyone about this property! When I got to my room the door was open. Called the front desk, they didn't care. Locks on the back patio are broken and unsafe. I slept in my clothes, which I might have gotten a total on maybe an hour of sleep. Once the sun came up i was out of there! I was a flight attendant for 20 years and never in my life have stayed some where so nasty. I asked before I even went to the room for my money back and they wouldn't give it to me or cancel my reservation. This place is awful!!! I was supposed to be charged $119.55, $69.55 plus a $50.00 deposit. I was totally ok with that but they decided to charge me another 69.55 and tie up $119.55 without even telling me. I am lucky I had an extra $119.55 or my checking account would have bounced. If there's ZERO option.. that's the perfect description for this place. My sister booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. We thought it would be inside the hotel, but it turns out that this place was a disaster.. the rooms were dusty, found hair follicles on the sheets, bathroom sink clogged, filthy carpets and door knobs broken. We cancelled out accommodation for the next 2 nights but unfortunately need to stay for the 1st night coz they'll charge us anyway for 1 night. Poor customer service, they didn't even accommodate us even for 1 night in the main hotel for all the inconvenience that they brought us. Guy came to our room just to spray a couple of lysol and when i showed him the hair follicles on the sheet.. he told me, i could bring you extra sheets.. housekeeping is gone for the day! 1st day of vacation turned to a nightmare!! read more

The rooms were very old, the walls are not sound proof at all. Everything was dirty and covered in dust, including the nightstand and the phone. The vent is disgusting, it looks that it has never been cleaned, not to mention that the sheets had brown and black spots. Got locked out of the room because the key card didn't work and couldn't contact the maintenance so we had to drive back to the front desk, horrible service. NOT RECOMMANDED! read more

Shower was not clean. Found several hairs on the wall and tub and one in my "clean" hand towel. So of course, I now don't even know if any of the towels or the bed sheets are actually clean. The room is set up at bare minimum. Carpet is discolored. I guess the casino decided to forgo keeping up the appearances on this hotel so they could use all the money on the new hotel built right next to the casino. read more

Me and my fiancé came for a day and decided to extend our stay. We love the area, since we we're going to be out exploring we didn't see the need to stay at a fancy overpriced hotel, even tho the lodge WAS NOT cheap for how it is. When I paid for another night I asked the hotel staff to please send someone to clean the room, she sed ok, when we seen the housekeeping we asked if they could clean the room. TWICE. The housekeeping got an attitude with my fiance and said we had to tell the check in we wanted our room serviced, he explained to her that we already told them, so housekeeping should already know this. We went exploring for the day and were gone 5 hours and came back to the room to find our room was untouched. NO ONE HOUSEKEEPER CAME TO EVEN STOCK THE TOILET PAPER. We could of AT LEAST used some more toilet paper. We had no clean towels either, mind you we came Monday and it was now Wednesday. We already stacked our used towels on the floor for the staff to restock. When we called the front desk to let them know that no one came to clean the room they said that housekeeping had left for the day!!!! WHAT!!!!??? You mean they don't have a 24 hour housekeeping staff!??? Ok. So we asked if we could at least get some clean towels and toilet paper, they told us they could see what they could do. It is 9am the next day and I'm still waiting for that toilet paper. We had to throw out our own garbage which is fine. Whatever I'm no stranger to hard work, but that was a little bit of a problem because the trash cans outside on our floor have been full and flowing over since Monday (it's now Thursday) we noticed the trash on the 1st floor is emptied tho so someone got lazy, obviously because they didn't touch our room!! If I would of known that this was going to happen I obviously wouldn't have extended my stay, we are checking out today thank goodness and going to stay in Jerome, I simply cannot stay here and get ignored by the staff, again, and if anyone who's reading this is wise they won't take a chance here either. *slaps forehead read more

If we could give this place less than one star, we would; we will never stay there again and we thank God for keeping us safe the one night that we had to stay there because we were told there were no available rooms at the Cliff Castle Casino Hotel, which is much much nicer. And we agree with others, Cliff Castle Casino Hotel should be ashamed of themselves that they have not upgraded the Lodge and made it nice and safe so people would not feel unsafe staying there. We were not able to sleep well either, as the heating unit in our room was making a load noise all night. We were charged just under $190.00 for one night stay on 2/23/22 in room 232, but did not feel it was safe to drive back home to Prescott due to snow and ice on the roads. This is not right that we were charged this much money for one night (in this crappy dirty-looking Lodge), and we should be refunded immediately, otherwise we plan to take our story to the news stations. My partner and I really like Cliff Castle Casino and have stayed there several times in the Lodge. My partner received an offer for a free night, which we accepted. We were sent to room 228. Cliff Castle should be embarrassed that they would send anyone to that room or any other in the Lodge. What a disappointment, to say the least. The outside is in disrepair, with the stucco falling off and the chicken wire visible. The room was nothing like anything they picture. The comfortable chair was not present, nothing but a bed and broken desk and chair. One lamp didn't work. The phone did not work, which was alarming because in case of emergency, we could call no one. In fact, when I called the main number, it took over 6 minutes to get an answer. I went to the ice machine on the second floor; when I pressed the button, about a fifty or more black flies came down and landed on my arm and in the ice bucket. There was no sign saying it did not work. Additionally, the room smelled like urine or flooded carpet at some point in the past. We did not stay. We turned in our keys and booked another hotel in the area. When my partner complained, he was told that renovation had been delayed. No apology; no offer of compensation. I do not see how they could book anyone in any of those rooms. The online representation of the rooms at the Lodge is disingenuous at best and deliberately deceptive at least. Someone on the staff needs to check out those rooms and ask if he/she would want to stay there. However, from the other reviews, management is just making a buck and doesn't care. They brag they are the number one casino in Arizona. Obviously none of those voters have ever been duped into staying at the Lodge. It is shameful. read more

Robin is probably the most unprofessional, rude manager I've ever dealt with. 1st room we were given smelled like cigarettes so badly we had to leave. Packed up went back to lobby waited almost an hour to be given a queen room. We needed king. Robin apologized for our inconvenience and thanked us for our patience. Also stated she would compensate us in some way for our inconvenience. Upon checking out I was informed robin had changed her mind about any type of compensation for our inconvenience and if I didn't like that answer I could call her. I conveniently ran into Robin at breakfast. I told her I was not happy with her. Robin argued with me saying I was never inconvenienced. She continued arguing with me until I had to walk away. Who is this woman to apologize 1 night about my inconvenience and the following day tell me that I wasn't inconvenienced? Was absolutely insane! She solely made our little vacation unpleasant. Thankfully employees like alicia and Jeanette in the restaurant overheard how rude Robin was to me and apologized on her behalf. I am still shocked at how horrible I was treated by Robin. It was insane to treat a customer this way. She needs a good lesson in hospitality. She failed miserably. read more
