The Loft at Pickers is such a fun little hidden gem! It's tucked away on the 3rd floor above Pickers, which makes it feel like a cool spot you'd only know about if someone told you. Bonus--the 2nd floor has a bar, so it's a whole experience getting up there. The food overall was really good with a few standouts. The deviled eggs were so good--definitely a must-order. My son loved his burger, and my meatloaf was solid comfort food. The mac and cheese was delicious and probably one of my favorites on the table. A few sides were a little hit or miss--the sweet potato casserole was good, the dill potato salad was just okay, and the okra was a bit over fried for my taste. I have been coming here for quite a while now. Juan is the absolute best server and has a great attitude. Last time our group came we realized that the menu prices didn't match the tickets that we received. Wayne gave only 1 of us a $5 coupon. We received our dollar back, so it was not a problem. Our group came back today, saw our favorite waiter Juan who already knows what drinks we like who needs a military discount and what we will order normally. When it was time to go, one of my lady said that her bill was wrong, because it didn't match the menu. I looked at it and realized we just had that issue last month which meant for a month people paying an extra dollar on their meals. Last time we came Wayne said he going to be fixed. So we had four bills that did not match the prices on the menu. I asked Juan to let the manager know since we had already done this dance the last time we got food here, but wasn't worried or agitated, because I was heading out to work. When the manager Wayne comes he hugs and greets one of my friends who he gave the coupon to last time. I was about to leave, but said that the menus don't match the prices again and we already talked about it last time. Even though Wayne has tons of attitude on a regular day, he said that I needed to be Kind like I was a kid!?!? I looked at him I said this is his kind with no loud voices, no frown. If somebody tells you that you need to be nicer to them when they made a mistake and didn't correct it the first time, while people are paying extra per ticket. He was hostile, but made it seem as if i disrespected him. I picked this place for lunch, now I am being mistreated by the manager for pointing out an error. Then he asked me my name, I was paying the bill and was over the altercation. He would not let up and kept telling me that he's having a busy day and how I need to Be KIND.... It wasn't a big deal to me, but he made it one being loud in the Restruant standing over me. I don't really speak to Wayne, because we don't joke the same I am here to eat and leave, but he is a bit extra. I was just telling some friends how I liked the vibe of the restaurant this weekend, I have given some good reviews. Wayne was beyond rude and unprofessional, we all agreed. It came out of no where, we thought he was joking at first as he does a lot, until he kept taking down to me. My group will no longer come here, since you never know how you will be treated. I come in order pay and leave there's not much conversation as I've written in a previous post. My crew and I agreed and informed Wayne after each of us felt he was avoiding the Brown skinned patrons, he would go around the restaurant speaking to everyone except our table multiple times. It has been better, with playful banter the last few months. The salad bar price is rising it started off at $10 w/a big and small plate, but is now $13, but you pay $14 on the receipt and they want to take your tiny plate away, unless you request it. I understand things cost more, so it's fine. Since it's close to where we work and most of us are trying to have healthy options, grabbing a salad for lunch makes good sense. The salad bar is usually clean and fresh. Like I said Juan has amazing customer service and is always super kind and nice to us no matter how busy or crazy it might be in the location. FYI, there is a store at the bottom that is extremely political and can make many people uncomfortable to walk through, if that is not your party. The way that I was treated today was overboard and unacceptable instead of squashing it the manager kept wanting to speak to me as if I was a child when I wasn't speaking to him at all! The only brown table in the room and he kept belittling me saying that I need to be Kind when I wasn't even talking to him and he doesn't know me at all. I have a friend that comes with me that literally yells and screams, but it seems as if he only has an issue with those he chooses to have an issue with. I have spent quite a bit of money in this restaurant, but I will no longer come again, but will miss Juan. It is unacceptable to be treated in this manner because a customer had to say more than one time that there's an error on the menu and you don't like to take accountability. A dollar isn't much, but they add up. Whatever the price is that you were telling people to pay that's how much the price should be. It may take a moment, but staff should adjust the price at the register to prevent confusion. I was told by 3 of my ladies on Saturday that during the nighttime they get a smaller plate than the daytime for the same price, which would be not worth $14, it if that's the case. I don't eat anything else on the menu, because I I have not found anything else appetizing and fulfilling for the price at this restaurant. The reviews are 100% accurate because we enjoyed lunch here and I can vouch for everyone else saying how fantastic this place is! We had a group of seven for lunch, called to let them know we'd be coming at 1:20 (though they closed at 2pm), and they had such awesome service with a smile! They didn't mind that we took an hour and a half, thoroughly enjoying our food and company! The atmosphere was a sophisticated Luby's or Country Club feel. The staff served us well the entire time. We highly recommend finding this place, even off the beaten path, when traveling through WF. We are sure glad we did! Set on the third floor above a local antique store destination, Picker's Universe. You'll find the entrance on the 10th street side of the building. Two floors of stairs or the elevator will get you to the loft. Large spacious dining area. Does have a large private dining room too. I've been a handful of times now, trying to sample a different entrée with each visit. Salad bar is large and a Vegan dream, but I myself am here for the meats! Appetizers ... I am solidly hooked on their Deviled Eggs and Candied Bacon. Im a huge fan of Deviled Eggs and these are spot on in flavor and just melt on the taste buds. Two words, Candy & Bacon, do i really need to say more? Entrées ... the Meat Loaf is to die for, you won't go wrong with that choice. Smothered Pork Chop is huge and delicious. 12oz Ribeye, twice now has been a large cut, cooked and flavored to perfection, no bite wasted. BBQ Plate was spot on with flavor from the Brisket, Sausage, and Ribs. The BBQ sauce is a house recipe blend of Blueberries and Bourbon. I am no fan of Blueberries, but did find i enjoyed this sauce. Sides ... I have not been disappointed in any of my side choices, all are very tasty if I mention them here. Glazed Carrots, Green Beans, Corn Casserole, Jalapeño Hushpuppies, Mashed Potatoes, and Cornbread. Desserts ... I've had the Chocolate Decadence Cake and the Buttermilk Pie. You can never go wrong with "Chocolate Death" cake and the Buttermilk Pie has a better taste and texture than cheesecake. Service has been well above expectations with Gunner, Julian, and Jamie. Chef Mikel came out to introduce himself tonight and filled me in on the BBQ sauce. Everyone on staff have been quote friendly and accommodating. The place is spotless clean, bathrooms are clean, the whole appearance is well on the eyes. Going to start off by saying the food this time was good although the bottom bun of my burger was a little more toasted than I'd like. Akin to blackened if you get my drift. The worst part of last evening's experience was the staff. When my friend and I arrived and asked if there was a lady that we were meeting sitting on the roof top patio, she responded that she didn't know and went back to talking to another employee. When another friend arrived, she walked past the hostess stand headed towards the patio. The hostess said "excuse me!" My friend turned around and told her she was meeting her party that were out on the patio. THERE IS NO ONE IN THE ESTABLISHMENT!!?? It's not like you are crazy busy. You have a job to do! Take it seriously! The waitress was a bit flighty. She came over and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. We requested a drink menu and a round of waters. Apparently it may or may not have been happy hour. You wouldn't know it unless you get on their socials as there no signage nor did the waitress let us know about any happy hour offerings. On a recent Friday night, I met up with family to check out the restaurant above the bar above the antique shop and aquarium. Great service, huge food portions, and a clean look equaled a pleasant overall experience. I was initially worried given the recent negative comments regarding service, but it seems management has responded appropriately. Instead of filling every table, they gave servers a reasonable number of guests to attend to, so we had excellent service and our server didn't seem overwhelmed. We shared the candied-bacon-topped deviled eggs to start (very yummy), and I ordered the thick chicken-fried steak that wasn't over-battered but was smothered in gravy and had a good flavor. I was allowed two sides, so I opted for okra (good and crunchy) and a baked potato. The server provided a plate and I got to choose not only my potato but also the toppings for it at the salad bar (the butter is above the bar and it's real, to boot). A note about the salad bar: This and the small bar are the primary features of this giant, almost sterile-feeling dining room. The salad bar is notorious, but frankly, I found it to be a regular salad bar with soup, greens, dressings and your typical protein and veggie options. It could stand to be a bit more sanitary, possibly with plastic-glove options or hand sanitizer nearby. My dining companions shared the steak filet, which appeared to be thick and cooked perfectly. That evening, the restaurant was out of its fresh-squeezed lemonade, but my Dr Pepper was kept filled. The total price was about $80--very reasonable. I hear the desserts are good, but we just didn't have room for them (I ended up taking my potato home and ate it the next day). I definitely recommend checking out this unique downtown spot, which I imagine will eventually be decorated but for now serves high-quality food. I look forward to spending time in the cozy bar on my next visit--it overlooks the antique shop! Pro tip: there are two aquariums downstairs, so be sure to check them out. read more

My husband had po boy shimp sandwich bread was so hard he could even make it a sandwich horrible he said besides my burger my fries were black and badly wilted I could tell they were cooked in old oil nothing was great salad bar was ok but not impressed and for 70 dollars I really expected more they didn't even deduct my burger that I took one bite out of and couldn't chew it. People well 2 girls working seemed friendly but food the worst. We will never go again, I was expecting something so much better from all the races now I will trust none of the food. Me and my 2 besties went an hour before closing. Service was great, ambiance was good, and the food was great. The salad bar, soup and potato bar were so good, and had so many options. I also got the fried green tomatoes which were good. For desert I got the banana pudding creme brûlée which was actual pudding. Off putting but it was good. We thought we'd give it a try since the menu looked delicious & there was only one other customer (party of 4) seated outside. The waitress (didn't catch her name but had pretty black nails and lots of rings on) seemed like she was in a bad mood but we ordered anyway and asked questions along the way. We have always preferred to eat at the bar. Food is always hit and miss. It's nice comfortable setting, never busy. The food has never been great but simply okay. Last time I had the chicken fried steak. It was nothing special but good. Side order of mashed potatoes, came out barely warm with little gravy. Other side was cornbread. It was terrible. Dried out hard like it was sitting all day. It was cold and came with now butter, honey, jelly or anything that could possibly help. The corn casserole was amazing and I ate every bit of it. The fried okra was crunchy and good. The meatloaf was tasty and had good crispy edges, my only complaint is that it had a bit too much sauce on the top for me. My guest had the filet medium rare, and brussel sprouts and said the steak was cooked perfect and loved their meal. They also ordered the cobbler, they only had peach that night and it came in an individual little foil pan and was so tasty! CFS was swimming in grease and made me feel sick even after picking off all the breading on the bottom that was soaked in grease. I wasn't a fan of the rosemary in the gravy either. First, they didn't have the wine I asked for. Then, they didn't have the deviled eggs we wanted as appetizer. Then they're out of Brussels sprouts. Then, as she put my snapper on the table she said they were out of the fried chicken my husband ordered. So what are we supposed to do at that point -- let my fish get cold wile my husband chose a different entree? So we split my entree and left disappointed. While visiting my sister in Wichita Falls, she took us to the loft and said it was known for their fried chicken and we should try it. And we did there was no taste to it. I don't know if they what they did, but you couldn't even eat it. This is my new favorite restaurant. I only wish I'd found it earlier. I eat a lot of soup, and this place has soup bar. I stumbled on this place while looking to try a new place. My entire family went, and we all love it. My 9 year old grandson loves the salad bar. They also have a baked potato bar. Visited the Loft last night for a Christmas party. Ordered a chicken fried steak and it was the worst CFS I have ever tried to eat. Overcooked, dried out meat, was more like jerky than a steak. Burnt on the bottom side like the steak had been cooked hours before and sat under a heat lamp for hours. Green beans were luke warm and soggy. Will not go back. The servers are way overwhelmed. Seems like they only have one cook in the back. Because we have had to wait for over an hour for our food every time we have eaten here. The owners need to hire more staff and work on improving the morale of there current staff. The had zero initiative to serve smaller tables.
