I Really like the bag salads, perfect for lunch grab a little something from the hot bar to add to my salad, wraps are decent as well. I don't typically get too much for many reasons, first being I don't want to carry a lot of stuff home the other being the prices lord barely anything & u can spend $45-50, 60-80 dollars half the time I wonder what I even got? Certainly it's a bit painful but for the options that are around seems like the lesser of the evils. Register or self check out either works, lines can be long depending on the times u stop by for the most part serves its purpose for a bit better food options as they do have quite the selection for a small location.

Perhaps their price points are a dollar per pound/lbs higher than other butcheries around, but the consideration and knowledge of the cuts and preparation methods more than make up for this difference. I.E. I stopped by to purchase some bone marrow to treat my partner to a nice snack. Without prompt or hesitation I was asked how I intended to use the marrow. I wanted to roast them canoe style to eat with bread, and immediately was rewarded with center cut shanks. These little details matter in the end. Everything they prepare for you is vacuumed seal in freezer safe packaging, sometimes there is cheese and snacks (AND AMAZING BUTTER) while you wait for your order. I haven't read any of the reviews of this place prior to writing this post. I literally just walked by this shop and went in and got to know- at least- everyone who works the front of the shop. Owner and staff are super friendly and happy to converse with you about what you want to make or provide helpful suggestions if you're not sure on preparation methods etc. I am a huge fan.

Piccinini was formerly only supplying restaurants and then started selling to the general public. I prefer to shop in person since it's just easier for me to plan as I go. The staff are friendly and they have a little display counter with prepackaged cuts of some of their popular requests. The aged steak looks amazing. Their prices are very good and the quality is excellent. Usually I pop in and place my order, then let them know I'll be back in 20 or so minutes. I grab a coffee nearby at Bird & Branch or a cookie at Schmackery's while I wait.

Having been opened in 1970 by Ukrainian butcher Julian Baczynsky, little has changed to their old school exterior, as captured by Chantal Akerman's 1976 "News from Home." East Village Meat Market maintains a range of delicious prepared Ukrainian and related delicacies, perfect to take to your home to enjoy. While there are meats like Kovbasa (i.e., sausages,) and what they deemed a "Ukrainian Style Hot Dog," you'll also find yummy assorted fresh Blintzes and Croquettes, like the ones I picked up this last time to gobble down at home. (FYI - Definitely recommend my yummy Peach Cheese and Banana & Honey Blintzes, plus Sauerkraut Mushroom Croquette!) The staff are incredibly friendly, plus there's much, much more than those options at East Village Meat Market,... but you should head on down to this special shop to check out what you might enjoy.
