Well, I came to Canada and decided to give this place a try since it was close to the hotel and my family needed a quick bite. The beer was good. The vibes were good. But the burger? Nahhhh. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger because our waitress told me it had won an award. Well...the judges must have had a different cook that day. The burger looked amazing, but the moment I took that first bite, I was instantly disappointed. It was dry, wayyyyy overcooked, and just lacked any flavor that would make me want another bite. Now, I will give credit where it's due. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was also great, and I'd definitely come back for a beer and to hang out. As for the food? I'll pass next time. It was a solid visit on my way out from Windsor on a work trip. I had the Chicken Ceasar wrap and tater tots. It was well worth the recommendation. The only downside was they were busy with the lunch rush and it showed. We got a great seat on the patio with a wonderful view of the river, but you get a little ancy when you've got a flight in a couple of hours and the food is running behind. LG is next to the waterfront that offers indoor and outdoor seating. Stepping in, reminded me of the many pubs on U of M campus. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. We got an order of dry wings. I have to say, I was blown away by how juicy and flavorful these wings were! By far the best wings I've had in a very long time. The ranch could be a bit better (on the bland side). The poutine was also delicious. The fries were crispy that went so well with cheese curds and gravy. The Loose Goose restaurant delivered one of the worst customer service experiences we've had-- a clear focus on profits over customer satisfaction, making it obvious that keeping guests happy is not a priority. This was one of the worst online shopping experiences we've ever had. Not only was our order incorrect, but the real issue started when we tried to resolve the problem. We initially tried to call and place an order but were directed to the website. When we call the restaurant to resolve the issue, the bartender mentioned there were problems with online ordering. It took 2 days for the manager to call us back and when she did, she assumed our issue was with the quality of the food which wasn't the case. It then took 2 more days to hear from the owner who would only communicate by email, as he said he needed everything in writing. Clearly, they have dealt with many customer issues before. What should've been a straightforward resolution turned into days of back-and-forth with no real progress. In the end, we were left with no refund or proper apology. Between the poor handling of the order and the lackluster customer support, I won't be visiting the Loose Goose again--and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

After a long drive, we decided to order carry-out and eat in the hotel room. We shared an order of 5 piece Perch and chips with a side of carrots and celery. The food was ready at the time we said it was and we picked it up no problem. The fries were absolutely delicious.! We could have eaten just them. The perch was ok but a bit overcooked so it was dry. This bar definitely took my by surprise! I was looking for some amazing poutine and was that delivered! This traditional sports bar has a wall of at least 40 different whiskeys on top of their some great drafts and more! The bartender was happy to walk us through different spirits and had more information to give than expected. There was a deal that day for cheap wings and obviously could not resist! The poutine wasn't overly salty and it came so fast and fresh that we got to enjoy the crisp on the fries, but hot enough that the curds were the perfect squeak. I came here with my family while I was visiting them in Detroit. This place is pretty cool! It reminds me of a pub in England that I used to go to. The service was pretty good and friendly. The portions of the food were a good size. I had the pulled beef tacos, which was really good. It came loaded up with lettuce, tomatoes, pickled onions, jalapeno lime cream, and pico de gallo.
