We loved our burgers and sweet potato fries. I just wish the burger had been larger. It was small for the size of the bun (which was not a large bun). We had a great seat in the window, and enjoyed some craft beers. They don't have an extensive beer selection, but we found some beers we enjoyed. Service was great. The restaurant isn't fancy, but we enjoyed our meal.

I had the shrimp tacos per our server's (Windy according to the receipt) recommendation. They were so good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and all of the fixings went well with the shrimp. My husband had the ribs, and they were fall off the bone excellent. We also had some wings for an appetizer and they were the best wings I've had in recent history- not overly breaded, not drowning in sauce, and the perfect level of crisp. Service was excellent- our server was friendly, attentive, and all around great. We will be back!

The last time I had been to The Lost Wombat was when they held their soft opening, they only offered wings and burgers. I remember really enjoying the wings so when I had some time to spare I decided to pop In and see what it was like full swing. For my drink I had the Wonky Wombat cocktail, it was sooooo fruity. I don't like the taste of alcohol to be too strong in my drinks and this tasted just like pineapple juice, for me it was a 10/10. For the appetizer, I ordered the pretzel sticks w/ beer cheese, they came out piping hot! These were very good and the cheese serving was huge! For the main course I had a breakie burger which was superrr filling, I could only eat half of it before feeling full (don't worry I took the rest home!). My house salad I had a few issues with, mainly the ratio of the entire thing. There was far too much cheese compared to the amount of greens and the croutons weren't crispy but soggy. My friend had a medium well steak w/ a Caesar salad and had the same issue with the croutons. The steak was cooked to perfection, though!! The service was very quick and our waitress was welcoming and friendly, she checked up on us frequently. I am so glad that this place has opened up, and if I had kids I'd bring them here so they could run around in the little play area. It's in a perfect location too, you can have dinner and then hit the movies right next door!

Stopped in here on Friday night during Merlefest. Cute venue downtown. Hostess seated is immediately at a table for two. Waitress quickly brought us waters and asked if we wanted lemon (yes, please!). Husband ordered the Breakie burger which he said was basically "a whole breakfast on a burger". He loved and the side of crinkle fries. I ordered the trash can nachos with chicken. It was fun to watch her dump the nachos on my plate. They left off the black olives as I requested. The jalapeños were fresh, not jarred. There was a good amount of grilled chicken on it as well as plenty of cheese and pico. Sour cream served on the side. It was so nice to take a break from the festival at this cozy spot. Look forward to visiting again.

This place is very unique and the food was really good. This is the only "Australian"restaurant in the state that I am aware of and once we realized it was "Australia day" we had to stop in. It was really fun trying vegemite and kangaroo meat. Although we came in the dead of winter it looks like they have quite a fun outdoor scene for the warmer months. We live in Winston Salem and stopped on our way back from winterfest in blowing rock but as frequent visitors of west Jefferson we will definitely make this a regular stop on our way back from the mountains!

So this is a neat little spot in downtown North Wilkes. The outdoor area was super inviting and the weather today was great for dining outside. The interior was neat but a little small. Our party of four was greeted and sat promptly, our waiter was very friendly. Unfortunately, there were multiple mistakes within our orders that left us feeling a little frustrated. An Aussie burger was ordered, a Brekkie burger was served- a side of tots ordered and forgotten, arrived much later than the rest of the meal- our tab had two random drinks that we didn't order added on but were removed once pointed out. I checked in on the Yelp app and was pleasantly surprised to see a free cookie offer pop up, I showed it to our waiter who stated he'd never seen that before and he'd have to ask his manager. We waited.. and waited.. and there was no more mention of it. That being said, the chicken wings were delicious! Pub chips were yummy and the ranch paired nicely. I feel like this is one of those places that has so much potential and I hope they rise to it. It'll be a little while before we return but hopefully our next visit will be much better.

New experiences this next year and starting now! I searched online while the hubby drove and came up with this spot. I ordered the three-meat plate which included two sides and hushpuppies, and my husband ordered the fish and chips (shocker-Brit!), which also included two sides of his choice. He raved about the piece of fish and after taking a bite, I had to agree. A nice thick piece and the breading was just right. Nice fries as well. I didn't try the beans but my husband enjoyed them. I wasn't as enamored with the meats I received. They were just ok as Q goes, lacking any smoke flavor or crunchy bits like I prefer. The sauces were delicious though and while I'm not usually much of a sauce person I enjoyed them and as a result enjoyed the meats. The slaw and collards I had were again just ok. Points for being house-made, but I adore cole slaw and this slaw is a bit dry and needs some oomph. A little Duke's and ACV would make this amazing. A nice crunch and chop is already there but I would tweak it a bit. The collards were cooked perfectly and tasty but again, ACV is needed. Maybe even just add it to the sauce mixes on the table, so folks can doctor their dishes if desired? Why a photo of the silverware you ask? I was so happy to get real silverware and heavy, substantial pieces! It elevates my experience, just me maybe. As I was grabbing a few more photos of the bistro I noticed a nice bourbon selection, and being a bourbon aficionado I had to get closer. I had a nice chat with the owner, who explained a special weekly event he does for folks to try some premium grade liquors at cost and even went on to explain that he makes most of his infusions and mixes in house. Big points for that. I only wish we didn't live over an hour away, but maybe we can get back for some cocktail events at some point. I would/will definitely return and try some other menu items. Service was great, cleanliness is clearly high on their list, and everyone was just super nice.

What they do have is a lot of different types of beer. So I guess if you just want a beer with tasteless food then this is the place to go. My friend and I had lunch at around 12 noon. There were literally only four other tables with a few people. Our waiter came to take our order and basically gave the impression that he wishes he was anywhere other than in this restaurant working. Not even a smile or a hello how are you doing? He was truly uncaring and answered us in half syllables when we had questions about the menu. OK whatever -/so we ordered a burger and the turkey Gruyère sandwich. At $19 for a burger (most other places in Blowing Rock charge around 12) and another 19 for a turkey sandwich you would expect at least french fries or coleslaw as a side. The sides are potato chips ( how cheap can you get) or green beans?????? if you want anything else like a side salad or fruit you have to pay an additional five dollars. Literally every other restaurant in town that serves sandwiches or burgers gives you a choice of several sides that come with the meal . But here a hamburger with a side of fruit was $23. Our waiter never came back to check on us, but another waitress did come a couple times and filled my tea glass with ice and asked us how everything was and brought samples of the beer. Thank you to whoever that was. Wish you could have been our waitress. Because our waiter was so unconcerned about waiting on us that he apparently forgot we were there. After a half an hour of not receiving our food in a restaurant that was mostly empty, I flagged him down and asked him what happened to our food. He said he would go and check on it. He came back and said that ours was the next ticket up.!! so basically this waiter held onto our ticket and then got reminded that he had to actually put it in for us to get our food. So we waited another 10 minutes. The burger was so tiny you practically needed a magnifying glass to see it. Burned to a crisp because of course the waiter also forgot to ask how we wanted it cooked. We like it medium rare, and definitely not charred and well done. The Turkey sandwich with Gruyère was just some turkey slices and I'm assuming gruyere cheese which I couldn't really taste. The whole sandwich was definitely forgettable. So that's my review. I still gave the waiter 10% tip, which he did not deserve. He did not deserve a tip at all. Needless to say, will never be back at this restaurant again. Nor will I ever recommend it. Because lunch for almost $60 for two people with two disgusting sandwiches was obscene.
