I went in for an oil change and later on that day the check engine light came on. My pregnant wife could not get a hold of me and did not want to drive the car because she was afraid something was really wrong with it. She was in downtown Baltimore. I later discovered that they never put the air filter cover back on properly nor did they even put the screws down. When I confronted them about it they wanted me to give them documentation proving that it was the case. I showed him a video of when I discovered it but apparently that was not enough. They did not care nor did they apologize for anything. I just spent $25 on a vehicle magnet stating how much I regret doing business with them. read more

i went there for an oil change and they spilled oil all over my alternator and belt. they barely cleaned it off laughed about it and sent me home. Couple days later my belt was making squeaky noises from the manager break cleaning my belt which I told him would happen. When I came back everyone was saying thats how BMW runs rough hahaha they're all uneducated on your car don't let no one touch your car there. you're better off putting on A blindfold and doing it yourself! Just waited in line for over 30 minutes. As I was waiting another car pulled up to the front of the shop, the manager came out and said something to him and was pointing to the bay doors. About 10 minutes later the bays doors opened and they directed him in. At this point I was pissed off, I proceeded to go inside and inquire why. I was told that it was a customer that had a problem and it wouldn't take long. I told the manager that everyone in line (7-8 cars) were also customers and that they should inform them as to what was going on. He turned and walked away. I got back in my car and left. I am incredibly impressed with The Lube Centers customer service and the true feeling of appreciation they showed me as a customer. I got my oil changed around two weeks ago and was, as always, impressed with the speed and efficiency the lube center showed. Afterwards, i was convinced that someone in my apartment complex was leaking oil in almost every parking spot! Well, my denial finally passed when i realized my parking spot at work was also nice and spotty. Alas, it was my car that was leaking. So, i called the lube center and asked if i could swing by and have them take a look and right away the girl on the phone was incredibly friendly and assured me they would take a look at the issue!. I pulled in around 5 and right away i was greeted by the same girl I had spoken with earlier who recognized me from the situation over the phone. She let me know she had already spoken with her manager about the issue and that they were fully prepared to take a look at the leak. While waiting for an open bay the manager even came out to check on me and again assured me that they were more than happy to take a look. I pulled into a bay appx. 10 minutes after arrival and, to my surprise, the manager came out and directed the entire check up of my car. Turns out it was just a bad gasket on my oil plug which they quickly replaced and then refilled the oil that i had lost. Their thorough work and genuine care they showed me has made me a customer for life! Kudos Lube Center, you have a great team of employees! read more

I visited The Lube Center today for a much overdue oil change and was incredibly impressed with the customer service from Manager Mike and his friendly team. One of the female techs was singing and had an amazing voice. Refreshing spirit while waiting for my car to be finished. I returned home and received a call from Mike and an email because they noticed an oil leak and were able to determine it came from my car. While I spoke to Mike, Daniel arrived at my house to have a look at my car and he verified that something was wrong and asked me to come back to the shop. Mike greeted me and personally took the lead to resolve the problem then test drove a couple times to confirm the car was ok. I realize problems happen in all types of business but these guys really went above and beyond to resolve the issue before it became a big problem for me. I appreciate the whole team's efforts at TLC and will share my story of service recovery excellence to my staff as I too am in operations management and am very happy they treated me this well. I told the technician the year and make of my car and he gave me a quote of $68.95. That was in line with the $64.90 I paid at Jiffy Lube (with a $10.00 coupon) and the $70.16 I paid at Precision Auto so I said to go ahead with the service. At the end of the service I was presented a bill for $110.20 and told my car took more oil than they expected. Sorry but I told them the oil requirements when they quoted me $68.95. Every single time I come here for an oil change they jack up the price for one thing or another. It is literally highway robbery!! You are better off using your dealership or jiffy lube! Today I brought in my brand new Lexus with 21k miles on it. Just needed a basic synthetic oil change. A $71 service. Everything checked out perfectly and went to pay and my fill was just shy of $100. No extra services were approved by me at all. When questioned what happens they said we had to put extra oil in. Wow! Next time let me know before you add another $30 bucks to my bill please!!! Nobody likes having to put money into their car but there are certain things that need to be maintained. I went in for an oil change, ended up with new wipers and cabin filter. Second visit and technician broke the filter housing on my vehicle. 2 1/2 hours later I left having had to pay for the original service (I expected that) but I also had to pay for the replacement of the parts THEY broke, although they did say that they were not charging me for the labor... I was happy with this location the first time I went. Friendly folks, quick service, and they explained everything you were purchasing and what they were doing. The second time I went: When I called over the phone, I asked for the minimum oil change and for the price of the wipers, which she said was about 67.00 overall (22 for wipers). When I arrived, I began telling my mechanic that I was strapped for cash and needed the minimum oil change and not the 45.00 one I went with last time. Before I could finish he told me not to worry, they would look up my previous visit. I figured he'd come back to me to ask what I wanted. I was hit soon afterwards with a 100.00 bill. I was a bit shocked. They explained that the wipers were 22 a PIECE, not together. Okay, fine; I really needed them, no problem. When I thought about the huge difference, however, I looked closer at my receipt, only to find I was charged for 45.00 oil change rather than the cheaper one as well. Nothing I hate more than being charged way more than originally perceived. But to make things worse: I came home that next evening with the front of my car steaming and the coolant leaking into puddles under my car. Turns out my coolant was EXTREMELY low. Upon opening the hood, I discovered the guy at the Lube Center had never put the cap on my coolant tank. We refilled the tank, thinking it had evaporated or something, but that morning it was nearly empty again! After taking it to the shop and worrying about actually being able to arrive there in the process, it turned out there was a giant air bubble in the pipes from when he left the cap off! I was late to work, completely inconvenienced, and with having to pay the extra money on the bill, totally not a happy customer. I never really get really angry with service because I used to be in customer service myself. I know these things can sometimes be a series of unfortunate events. But after all of that, I really won't be back again. I'll try Auto Zone next time. read more

They do a good job but watch the estimates they give you. I got a rear diff done at 85K which was $55 and 3 years late (today the cost went up to $119). I have small 4 wheel drive. I was shown the diff fluid which appeared dark so I went ahead with the work. I just know I should contact my mechanic friends for another estimate prior to the work because prices are going up a lot. read more

STEER CLEAR! Okay, their oil change is really expensive but I am okay with that. But when they charged me $44.95 for a cabin filter ($9 to $12 if you buy it yourself) I was pissed! Changing the cabin filter is literally a 30 second service...if that. Open glove compartment, remove old filter, slide new filter in, close glove compartment. Done. I was expecting maybe $15, which is reasonable, but $44.95?! I contacted their headquarters using their "contact us" form, and of course got absolutely no response. When I told the technician that $44.95 was WAY overpriced and showed him my phone with the exact same filter for $9 I was given a shoulder shrug and told to go to Walmart. My BIG mistake was not asking the price before installation. I will never go back there and I will never allow anyone to do a service assuming they would be fair and reasonable. Had they at least replied to my email I would probably not even be writing this, but I am doubly angry now. read more

l am very disappointed by the service I received last Friday, at the Prospect Blvd. Lube Center. I had a family emergency out of town and needed a quick oil change, first of all the prices was jacked up to $95, with some story about by it being a VW, it needed a special oil change. Okay, got the oil change, drove my car over 400 miles, when I went out to leave to come home, there was a substantial oil leak under my car!!! Made it back home and my son-in-law informed me the was a oil stain where I parked my car at home. So why did I pay $95 for an oil change, when most of it ended up on the high way. Also, before I left the Lube Center Techs asked if any of my warning lights had come on, and if one did make sure I bring the car back! Lo and Behold the tire pressure light came on today. I had none of these problems before their service and want to know why I paid them $95, to fuck my car up!?!? Will be there bright and early Monday morning for answers! read more

I have used their services for several years, with multiple vehicles. I always come away thinking how customer friendly and professional the staff is. If you want to see whats going on beneath your vehicle, they have monitors to show you the workers and whatever they are working on. The person servicing your vehicle at ground level tells you everything that's going on and each process along the way. While they do alert you to potential issues, I've never felt they were trying to upsell or hard sell me anything beyond whatever initial service I requested. read more
