Final stop...The Lucky Duck The Lucky Duck is one of East Austin's bar hangouts. Today they were celebrating their 6th anniversary. They were serving the drink of your choice for a mere $25 in the shape of a duck. They were so stinking cute. This open air layout with a patio is a whole vibe. Folks seemed very laid back and chill. The music was on and popping! There was ample seating in the open air space. The place was packed. However, everyone appeared to be in their own little worlds and not bothered by the persons surrounding them. Conservations were taking place which made The Lucky Duck feel alive and inviting. This is the type of bar that you can drop by and stay a while. The setting is comfortable, which promotes hanging out for a bit.

On a night out on East Sixth, we stumbled into Lucky Duck and found ourselves in a great spot. The main bar was pretty cool, with a dive bar feel on the inside and a large patio with a big projector screen playing the Bears Packers game on the outside. As we continued wandering, we found an entrance to their special speakeasy. After heading down the hidden trail, we walked up into a little house with divided rooms, where they placed our group in one of them. We could scan a QR code and order drinks directly on our phones, and they had great deals with specials rotating throughout the weekend. It was definitely a step up from the already great Lucky Duck and made for an even better experience. If you are reading a Yelp review to try and find the speakeasy, I will give you free game. Go to the basketball hoops and find the entrance on the right side. The drinks at Lucky Duck are pretty typical for East Sixth, pricier than you would truly like, but the speakeasy side is a steal in comparison and makes a night out feel more earned and more adventurous. Rating: 4.3/5 [dine in] For drinks, you have to order inside at the bar. My husband got an AMF and a Long Island, both of which tasted better than what you'd expect from a dive bar. They weren't watered down and easy to drink. The Lucky Duck has a huge outdoor space with its own food truck and porta potties. I honestly didn't have high expectations, but the food completely blew me away. They were out of chicken thighs, so we couldn't try the chicken sandwiches. Fries ($8): Huge portion. Super crispy and addicting. I couldn't stop eating them. Best item of the night. Hot Cheetos Wings (5 for $13): Fully coated in Hot Cheetos and really tasty. Not spicy, at least for me. Sweet BBQ Wings (5 for $13): Also delicious. You can taste more of the flavor on this one compared to the Hot Cheetos wings.

The Lucky Duck is a bar located on East 6th Street. The name Lucky Duck stands for community and good fortune. This venue has an inviting atmosphere and is a great place to host events. The inside of the venue has a nice bar space offering quality cocktails. There is also a nice outdoor space with plenty of picnic table style seating and an outdoor bar as well. Lucky Duck was partnering with RunforitRep run group to host a community running event called the Texas Two Step. There were lots of vendors on site in the outdoor space including Adidas, C4 Performance and FleetFeet. There was also DJs both inside and outside the venue playing great music for a fun and energetic vibe. There was a craft activity to style our own rubber ducky in line with the Lucky Duck theme. They also had a fun Photo Booth on site as well as an ice plunge for recovery. Overall, this venue was a great location to host an event. Although I didn't get a chance to try the cocktail and food menu, I look forward to returning in the future to sample their food and drinks when I don't have to run.

They had a Sunday special for $5 espresso martinis and 3 oysters. You bet we had a few. The oyster shuckers had good sauce that came with. Outdoor space is cool. The place was packed. Staff was great. Overall other drink specials at this place had quite the deal.

This is a bar with a backyard! There's little arcade games outside and a projector screen. We went to eat at the Lucky Duck food truck, and definitely have to come back. For $11, this was a good deal and yummy! We got the Lucky Stack which also came with fries. Service was quick and the person was kind :)

Love when groovy bars open during the day on the weekends. Then I fall in love with them even more when they have live music. Plus the musicians are ALWAYS amazing! Service is consistently friendly. There is also a patio filled with picnic tables that have huge umbrellas for shade. Groovy East Austin bar!

    So cute packaging!

My favorite bar in Austin finally serves food in the back! The food is really good for bar food in my opinion. I absolutely love their chicken nuggets (cut up pieces of chicken thigh aka juicy!). If you're visiting Austin I recommend you stop here for drinks or go around this location as East Austin is literally the place to be right now (2025). I absolutely love their dj's and espresso martinis (the best in Austin! Strong not sweet). It's a small bar when you walk in and the back yard is big for outdoor seating. I love this place to start or end my night!

Fun little dive bar. It was a hot day and they don't have AC. I recommend being ready for heat or just bring a fan! I stopped in for a quick beer to check it out!

We live with if walking distance and will stop by every now and again. Weekends are usually tough because there's always a line going down the walk with folks waiting to get in. They've got a nice outdoor patio area and food truck. Fun decor and drink specials. Cool bartenders.

This place was a great environment! We came with a group of 10 and sat on the back porch and had a great time. The staff was super friendly. They have a giant projector for sports outside. Would definitely recommend and definitely come back!

Lucky Duck has some amazing Happy Hour specials and the good vibes to go with it! This was a Thursday where they have a double meat burger with fries for $5. Amazing deal and the burger is top tier delish! Pair it with a few cocktails and the Thursday Latin Night DJ...I'm sold. Probably going to be our regular Thursday hangout spot :) packing is beyond adorable as well!

While in east 6th, I've always avoided this bar like the plague. It has always seemed too crowded and loud for me. However, I finally gave it and gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. Had a few Basil 75 and they were really good, but definitely my favorite thing was Tommy Want Wingy. Literally it doesn't get much better for wings and drinks.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

If you're coming here definitely do yourself the favor and Uber as parking is incredibly difficult to find there. Getting in is very quick and efficient and once you're in you're greeted by live music and a fun open space to get drinks and hang out with friends. There are multiple different places to get drinks from which is nice as you can choose how long you would like to wait in a line. Drinks are not unreasonably priced and they were good as well. The ability to sit throughout the area, get up and dance, or just listen to music makes this a great spot to stay entertained for a while. We came when there was an event being put on by Zyn where they were giving out free drinks to nicotine users which was funny because why not get you hooked on nicotine AND alcohol. But seriously, there are typically food trucks and more things going on here but the Zyn trucks took up those spots which was a bit of a letdown but we're assuming that's just a one off event. Between a good band, decent drinks, and a good amount of seating options, this is a good spot to sit down with some friends and just vibe out for the night. We'd give it a recommendation if you're looking for something fun but not too much fun on a night on East 6th.

The service was great, albeit there wasn't a big crowd. Everything came out quick and the staff were super attentive. The music was fun and vibes were great! I got to say that some happy hour prices were totally reasonable. Not boozy libations... but ok. However, $17 for a small cocktail? Joking right? Prices were from $5-$17 for everything from draught, premixed, and mixed but I feel like for that price point you are competing with bars that can be more creative with their drinks for a few bucks more. Is it worth a go? Sure! Recommend. Looking for basic cocktails at a reasonable price point- maybe. However they do focus on Mescal themed drinks if that's your thing so it's a bit of a niche. Comparing this place to legends like Roosevelt room isn't fair- but at least RR are heavy pourers! I left far from boozy which was fine for a weekday. IMO- Charge less for cocktails on happy hour. But I understand the $$$ for the location is extreme but I don't feel these are happy hour prices for drinks. Food- absolutely.
