Fish tacos, Buffalo chicken wrap, French onion soup
    Carolyn K.

Our experience was good, not great. Decor and atmosphere was fun and what I expected from the outside. Waitstaff was friendly and prompt, but it was the food that was just OK. My husband had the French onion soup, which was rather good, and the Buffalo chicken wrap. He felt the wrap lacked sauce and the amount of chicken in it was sparse. I had the fish tacos which were good, but so much breading there didn't seem to be much fish at all. It was delicious to bite, but not really much substance. Definitely will try to go again another time for dinner, but will be skeptical.

This is a relatively new place in Baxter Village...and for some reason, I've been hesitant about trying it, but decided to finally give it a go! The place had a dark, but a cozy decor (loved the big booths with large tables)...and I noticed that they even had a nice patio area, which we may try next time. The menu was quite casual, with mostly hand-held type foods, but more upscaled and exciting than typical bar foods. Not sure why, but I thought this place would be more Asian fusion, but nope - it was way more Mexican than Asian. Also, the menu pricing was quite friendly...especially considering the inflation lately. We started with Bang Bang Grouper Bites...then we both had the Crispy Fish Tacos. For sides, I went with the Sweet Waffle Fries (Oink, Oink!) and my more diet-savvy hubby chose the salad. I was surprisingly happy with the foods, especially the Grouper Bites! The Fish Tacos were really good too, but was surprised that it didn't come with any salsa or some type of red sauce. I also tried this Blueberry Mojito, and now, this was truly awesome...both in taste and presentation! THE thing that was off about this place was the fact that they were out of SO many things...on a weekend night at that! At least 3-4 drink items, a salad sauce, etc.etc. Made me think that they were a bit slack and/or not doing very good (budgeting?). Hopefully next time around, they'll be better stocked with all the items on the menu? Our waitress seemed a bit stressed (overwhelmed?), but she did fine...in that everything arrived in a timely manner. Overall, I liked the place. Somehow, I expected NOT to like it (possibly because of the lukewarm ratings on Yelp?)...but I stand corrected!

Visited this place for the first time just recently and enjoyed my lunch. The service was a little slow being that there weren't many people but with all the staffing problems you hear in the hospitality world it didn't bother me. My meal was delicious and I hope they keep the quality and deliciousness of the grouper appetizer on the menu.

Nasty Traditional Wings - 6 Wings

Food and Service just beyond horrible. Bar only had about 6 ppl seated. Wings were nasty and I never received my fries & my glass of water showed up after I asked for my check. Eventually I got up and left and took a couple of their customers with me across the street to Fish Market.

Service was great and the food came quick! We had the happy hour truffle fries which were great. The patty melt (pictured) was delicious. We also had one of the burgers that was great!

Great brunch, cheap mimosas and BBQ sushi is unreal! Very impressed by the double stacked chicken sandwich. Will definitely be back and am shocked we haven't heard about this place before.

Blackened chicken tacos and Mac & Cheese!

Very good but portions are a bit on the small side for the price. The blackened chicken tacos are delicious, staff was attentive and good at their job!!

I had to leave another review for The Lucky Duck ! I recently attended a yelp elite event and I loved all the choices of dishes they had us try . The drinks were not only strong but really good . Cute spot for hanging out with friends after work for drinks or happy hour . They have a rooftop as well and the inside is super plush .

    Old Fashioned

New menu has great options! I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Burger with no bun, was great! Ordered a few Old Fashioneds - delicious. Chase is the best bartender in Fort Mill!

Why yes! I'll take a large mimosa please and thank you!

I go the smoked salmon frittata with the salad. I also got the biscuit with gravy. The biscuit with gravy was amazing. Two square biscuits crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The gravy was delicious and went well with the biscuits. The frittata was amazing with the tomato giving a slight sweetness. The salad was light and the dressing was flavorful. The bread was like an afterthought, only meant to cleanse the palate so that you could separate the salad and the frittata. As for the wait staff, the waitress would constantly interrupt our conversation to either push the food along or to see if we needed anything. Very abrupt but not to the point of being rude. At least to me, but there was a lot of side glances from others in our table. Overall I would only go for the food and ask for another waitress.

In an eatery specializing in breakfast improperly cooked eggs are puzzling. And the ugly, this was our third visit in the last 6 weeks AND the eggs were cooked improperly each visit! We love the imaginative menu but if you cook staff can't get the easy part right you may be in the wrong business. PS: I ate the hard cooked eggs the first two visits but three strikes and you're out! PSS: the runner that delivered our breakfast apologized & admitted this happens "all the time"! During the middle of the week I decided to try a newer restaurant I hadn't been too for my birthday…read moredinner! I had been hearing good things about Firebirds in Fort Mill and as this was my special birthday meal I felt this might be the place to go. We arrived a little after 4 on a Wednesday evening. You can see from my pictures that the decor was very warm and cozy. There were tables, booths and combo bench/tables. Also there was a large bar you could sit at and enjoy the atmosphere. Our waitress was super friendly and was very attentive to our table. She answered our questions we had like about the Ranch Rings. Turns out it's just a side of ranch you can did the rings in. She also offered us some bread for the table which we never turn down. It was warm and the whipped butter was soft and easy to spread! The Rings were amazing! Very crispy and fully cooked. You didn't get that onion pulling out of the coating that I hate. And there was so many of them that three of us split this very easily! For my dinner I was going all in with the Surf N Turf. A 9oz bacon wrapped filet with a half pound lobster tail! I also got the seasoned steak fries for my side. Again the waitress was great asking what extras I needed with my meal, i.e. ketchup, melted butter, steak sauce etc. For the most part my meal was excellent. The fries were crisp on the outside but had a good fluffy potato on the inside. The lobster was presented outside the tail and was easy to remove and then slice up to be dipped in the butter. The bacon around the filet was fully cooked and not rubbery at all! But it looked like they had cut into the filet to check the temp. I did as for it to me Medium and it was probably a touch over but there was some pink inside so it was ok. Overall it was good but I didn't have that eyes rolling back in your head OMG YUM moment. My parents both decided to try their three course meal. You get a starter, an entree and a dessert for a reasonable price. Both my parents chose the mixed greens salad for their starter. They both enjoyed it and was surprised by the size of it expecting to get smaller portions with this three course meal deal. Again they were surprised when their entrée's arrived. A full rack of ribs and a large grilled sirloin steak was presented to them. Dad very much enjoyed his parmesan mashed potatoes before attacking the ribs. Mom asked for her steak to be medium well but it looked well done instead but it was fine for her. Unfortunately her mashed potatoes arrived cold. Our waitress was on it and brought a side of piping hot mashed potatoes for her very quickly. For dessert mom got the bread pudding which came with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and side of caramel sauce. Dad got the creme Brulee petite cheesecakes. I swiped the ice cream from mom as she didn't want it and poured some of what tasted like house made caramel sauce over it. It was delicious! By the time we were leaving over 90 minutes later the restaurant was getting quite full. The food and service was all very good. It's not the type of place I'm gonna come to every week but for those special nights out when you want a cozy place to relax and have a good meal, this is the spot!

The beer selection was surprisingly mediocre, and they happened to be out of the first two beers my wife and I tried to order, which was a bit disappointing. I went with the barbecue entrée with a vinegar based sauce, which was alright overall. The sides were actually the highlight -- the mashed potatoes and broccoli were pretty good but the garlic toast was unpleasantly oversalted, enough to stand out in a negative way. My wife ordered a burger, and she absolutely loved it. In fact, she's decided it's her favorite burger in the Charlotte area so far. The atmosphere is great for sports fans. There are plenty of TVs, and we enjoyed watching a women's college softball game and a UFL game during our visit. It feels like the kind of spot where you could settle in comfortably for a big game.
