Please take pizza off your menu - and inform customers, especially before they order their drinks. Although the bartender seemed capable and friendly, our waitress didn't know her wine nor how to take a drink order. As things got busy, she seemed less helpful. Food was disappointing. Ordered a Mediterranean flatbread carry out. The whole phone call and pickup couldn't have gone smoother. Not to mention the sandwich was tasty and the fries (the skinny variety, were delish. Food was good, service was not a very pleasant experience. The Turkey Sandwich I ordered with Bourbon Glaze and cheese was very tasty and presented well from the kitchen. Food and kitchen staff get 5 stars. As for service, I sat at the bar and the bartender was very sterile and not very personable. No greeting, didn't check on how I liked the food, and I and the couple in their 50's at the table behind the bar could have done without the bartender asking a server "Did you puke last night?" with a response of "Yep all over his shoes". Doesn't exactly bode well for a pleasant dining experience. Maybe this place is good for carry out as I've had better service at fast food drive thru's. The food was fantastic! However, I wouldn't want to eat in such an environment. There was a child running (i'm not kidding) around the restaurant and nobody seemed to care. Bar service was terrible. Slow and unorganized. Took us 10 minutes to even give our order and we were the only ones at the bar. Ordered 2 Kettle One & generic Redbull (cl-one). Bartender didn't have any kettle one stocked at the bar and told us she had to go down to the basement to get some...no biggy...then an additional 3 times being told that. she decided to make about 7 drinks for everyone else, deliver food to tables, ring people up before she even attempted to get our drinks....ice sitting in our rocks glasses just melting. Finally got our drinks and the bill...$15! I bartend at another local bar and know the cost of liquor and the knock off redbull...not $15 worth for 2 drinks. If you are going to charge that much, at least have actual Redbull!! Expressed our disappointment without a glimpse of care from the bartender. Decided to go down to MO's to compare...$11 for TALL Kettle One and legit Redbull! Overall, a 20 minute wait for over priced average drinks wasn't worth it. We stopped in on a Sunday night for dinner and grabbed a couple seats at the bar. There was a just handful of people there so it was a quiet and laid back atmosphere. They have a nice selection of local beers on tap and a small wine list. We opted for an order of Roman Artichoke Hearts for an appetizer. They were lightly breaded, fried crisp and served with a lemony Greek vinaigrette which was the perfect complement. For our entree, we split the Rueben sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries - nothing fancy, but a solid sandwich and perfect crisp fries (standard, frozen crinkle variety). The prime rib was moist and easily chewed. The cheese was melty deliciousness atop of the meat. The au jus was nice and hot and smothered my sandwich in extra juiciness when dipped. The food I have tried has been great. There is no need to get a salad or anything from here. No - go for the chicken alfredo pizza. It is amazing. Their crust is absolutely delicious and can tell it is not a prepackaged dough. My issue with the poor review was that the service I had received has been less than ideal. I have gone before with a bigger party and found was not coming out in a timely manner and the waitresses did not make an effort to clear our plates or really check up on us for drinks. The Grill has great potential to be so well rounded! Very spacious, delicious food, and on the main drag in town. However the service cannot be ignored. read more

I have mixed feelings. I went here the other day and the food was great. The fries were perfect and the sandwich was awesome. Today however I went here and got robbed for sour cream sauce. It was $22 a plate for the special which would have been fine if it was what they advertised it as. Sour cream and parmigiana cheese is a sad sad substitute for Alfredo sauce. Was so dissatisfied that I left the plate full. Me and my guest both thought the same thing. Service was great but they really ruined the Alfredo sauce. Who decided that sour cream was a good substitute in Alfredo. Do some work. I know it's more difficult to use real Alfredo but if that what I'm ordering that's what I want. I ordered the walleye special. The fillet was cold, undercooked, and very "fishey" flavored. I tried my best to eat it, and the side baked potato was cold too. I tried to eat it, but had to send it back. The server was very helpful and caring. I tried the whitefish instead. Took very long to get, and was served warm, yet not great either at all. All around not good. My buddy brought me there, with a great recommendation. I just assume that today the food was off, but after this I am going to never come back due to the food. First time in my life I have ever sent back a mixed drink back because how does that get effed up? But it was. Should have taken that as a sign to not order the steak, but clearly I'm a glutton for punishment. Terrible. Strange fishy undertones that was overdone and came with raw onions vs. the mushrooms I had ordered. Ate one bite of $25 steak. Didn't send it back. Vibe there was way off. Not sure if I was being poisoned because of the drink or if it was just that bad. Veggies literally came in a tide pool of microwave water. Everyone else's was mediocre. Place was empty so wasn't that. Seemed like a quality control issue or maybe just a case of the Mondays. Waitress was very pleasant and accommodating save for never filling water. Save your $, Culver's would have been a fraction of the price and far superior. Will update if I get food poisoning. read more

We weren't greeted at the door and seated ourselves , eventually the waitress came to the table dropped off menus and rolled up silverware returning shortly to get drink orders. I l ordered an Old Fashioned.. a simple drink any bartender should be able to make. .. What I got was awful, tasted like oversweetened iced tea including a slice of lime. ... The bartender came to investigate the problem. .. I changed my order to simple Bourbon only to discover they carry only Jim Beam... a bar with only well Bourbon? Dinner wasn't much better... the fries were BURNT and tasted of burnt oil. .. Homemade, as they call them shouldn't mean soggy and burnt. Sadly the waitress agreed, but still served them. My sandwich was burnt as well. This looks to me like a place that's going under. .. sadly it doesn't look like much of a loss. After paying the check I asked to speak with the owner... Restaurant was recommended to me while in town for a few days. Very nice setting. Had lunch while sitting at the bar. Bartender was very pleasant. I had an excellent sandwich and fries. It was Turkey w thick cut Bacon and Boursin cheese served on a nice roll. I would definitely recommend getting that sandwich (it is highlighted on the menu). I'll hit the place again for pizza and check out beer selection and watch a ball game - a nice number of TVs to watch...pool table...nice menu...a great choice for Escanaba. read more

Love their Boursin and Bourbon Turkey sandwich with homemade fries and coleslaw. Food is good but lately the service seems to lack. The last two times here, we waited for about five minutes to have a server come over and ask what we would like to drink. I went here with friends a few nights ago. We were exhausted from working and happy that we were able to have our pick of tables without having to wait. The interior has a lot of woodwork that is in good condition. The bathroom was spotless. Our beverages were delivered promptly by the waitress who was both friendly and casual. Apparently, there is no charge for Iced Tea refills. I drank three glasses and we were only charged for one. I ordered a Mushroom-Swiss Burger. This burger was terrific! It came with a reasonable amount of vegetables and a big pile of fries. The amount of fries may be to much for some people. Altogether, we had a group appetizer, three meals, and a group dessert for a reasonable price. The bar side of The Ludington Grill also has a casual sitting area and a pool table. On our way out we saw an outdoor seating area between the rear entrance and the alley parking lot. That may be the spot to sit before summer is over. read more

So I highly suggest any families with young children not take them to dinner at the Ludington Grill. After waiting over 45 mins for our food, we were asked by the owner to keep our kids contained and quiet...are you kidding me? Here, you take my friend's hungry 19 mo old and 5 1/2 yr old and keep them contained when they are hungry. She was just happy they weren't having meltdowns. We did have 7 kids between the 3 of us, however the owner's request to contain all of our children was ridiculous! Most of the kids were sitting at the table the entire time! There was one waitress for all tables-she was very kind and apologetic, but she could not keep up. The food was not great with the exception of the fries. They were homemade and delicious. read more

The food was surprisingly good considering we haven't been able to find very impressive food around. The salmon was decent although a little dry but it came with a fine sauce. The side of "vegetables" was a sad excuse for vegetables: tasteless frozen carrots and broccoli in a rather small, mushy quantity. The blackened shrimp was delicious and a little spicy and the fries were nice and crispy, but the salad on which the shrimp sat was a bed of tasteless romaine, even though i requested mixed greens instead. On the drive home to wisconsin, I found myself in ecanaba at lunchtime. What a, shall we say, unique...city. As soon as you turn on Ludington street, it's a time warp straight to 1950. And there were no people. It was bizarre. Middle of the day on a Sunday, and most local businesses were closed, so we stopped at the Ludington grill. Moving past the fact that there were only four other patrons, we sat for lunch. There aren't many vegetarian options. It basically came down to salad or a grilled cheese (I tried to order the whitefish sandwich, but they were out of fish. Maybe it gets really busy Saturday nights?) so I had the Caesar salad. It was unimpressive, but decently-sized. My friends had a chicken bruschetta sandwich and a shrimp salad. They said they were ok. Overall, I think it was the desolate ghost town atmosphere that threw me off. All that was missing was an old man telling me about the good ol' days. And I was really looking forward to fresh local fish. Not bad, not awesome, three stars. read more

This was an awesome place to eat. Food was good and the service was great. Reasonably priced, very clean on the inside and you could definitely tell they were following all the necessary precautions to maintain a safe eating establishment during mask up Michigan.
