Onion rings were not hot( maybe the warmer isn't working well? Walleye had an oily feel and taste though the fish was very good. Coleslaw was fine; nothing special. This rustic log cabin restaurant with cozy lodge vibes and an unbeatable view of Big Bay de Noc completely won us over. As a food-loving family, we were blown away by the quality. I had the bacon cheeseburger, and it was perfection -- juicy, cooked exactly right, with a soft, buttery bun that took it to the next level. My wife and daughter split the cheese flatbread pizza, which was generous, gooey, and had that magic balance of soft center and crisp edges. We started with pretzel bites that were warm, soft, and chewy -- everything you want in a comfort appetizer -- paired with creamy, rich beer cheese. For drinks, a perfectly chilled Blue Moon hit the spot while our daughter loved her sweet lemonade. The service deserves a review of its own: some of the friendliest staff we've met on our travels. We stopped by mid-afternoon on Valentine's Day following an awesome day of hiking at Fayette State Park. Mandy took great care of us. She was friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention. Appetizers: Agave Sriracha Brussel Sprouts were plentiful, crispy and delicious. The buffalo chicken dip was also delicious. Entree's: We split a Whitefish basket with parm garlic fries. We both said the fresh perfectly battered whitefish was as good as any we've had. Fries were yummy. We got a Michigan Cherry Salad to split but didn't have room for it. It made for a really tasty snack later that night. Great view, great food and great service. We will be back. read more

So good we had to come twice while in the area! Everything we had was so delicious!! JC was our server the first day and Mandy the second.... both were attentive and friendly. Drinks (Cosmo one day, old fashioned the next) were cold and yummy... especially sitting out on the deck with a gorgeous view. Everyone we chatted with in Garden and Manistique mentioned eating at The Dock. Since the new owners are my cousins they are the reason we came here in the first place . Apparently the Dock is under new ownership so there were a few things still getting set up. We had veggie burgers, fries and the deep fried cheese. All was good, but the garlic cheese curds were delicious!!! The veggie burger was probably not a homemade black bean burger like the menu said, but it was fine. We had a seat on the deck right by the water and it was beautiful. The wait staff was really nice and personable. It was early in the season so not real busy - very relaxed atmosphere. read more

We ordered 2 burgers and 2 salads the burgers took an hour, we didn't want to wait for salads as over an hour should have been enough.

My wife and I have been riding our four-wheeler close to 100 miles one way to sit on the deck outside and enjoy the lake view. We anxiously awaited their post covid reopening. Today, though, was not a dining experience to write home about. The hostess was less than pleasant. When we expressed a preference for outdoor dining she led us out to the deck and tried to seat us at the first table we came to. I like shade but my wife is a sun goddess and I asked if we could be seated at the next table that was partially in the sun. The hostess acted like it was some kind of chore and silently sat us there. Apparently, it wasn't in the right waitresses' territory. We sat, and eventually, our water arrived. The waitress came and brought menus and we tried to order a flat bread pizza only to be told that pizza wasn't available after 4pm. That sucked. After some consternation we got up and left, and rode 40 miles to The Buckhorn where we are enjoying good service and good food as I write this. To be clear, our waitress at The Dock was very nice, and the menu options are not her responsibility. My complaint is with the no pizza after 4 and unfriendly hostess. What was once my wife's favorite eatery and well worth the 180 mile ride is no more. We won't be back, and I doubt that they'll survive under these conditions. read more

the food was very good but in checking my credit card I was charged $195.00 for a $168.00 bill. I always give the server cash for a tip and the bartender just added a $ 30 tip tried rectifying this error with no avail. when I come back in the spring I'll be looking for him I have a feeling this has happened to other people as well. customers, check your credit card statements read more

Went to dock to check out food and was extremely disappointed in menu and food and wait staff. Had no White fish and when I ordered a pizza with 4 free toppings they had no sausage and when I asked if they could substitute Hamburg the waitress told me the kitchen would charge me for a Hamburg Pattie . I said never mind and she said they were already making it. After the complaint they added the Hamburg N/C. Asked if I wanted another beer I said bring me the wine menu and when she came back she had the bill and never asked if I wanted a glass of wine. Menu is a joke . the crab cakes tasted like breaded cardboard. The view and music will only carry the Dock so far. Had a 5 star dinner at freshwater Tavern in Gladstone and that menu would compete with any in the country. Suggest they visit and get some new Idea's or steal their chef. read more

We stopped in on the recommendation of a family member. I'm so glad we found this place! We were greeted and seated promptly. The decor is beautiful, and the outdoor seating was especially nice with wooden lounge chairs that were very comfortable to sit in. The view is gorgeous, and there were plenty of people that pulled up in their boats to enjoy a meal as well. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. Both of my sons enjoyed a hearty burger with a side of steak fries. The burgers were made to order and included too generous patties each. My wife and daughter both got the broiled whitefish, which looked wonderful. They indicated the seasoning was done right, and they both enjoyed it. I went with a white wine salmon, which came with a very well-done baked potato. The salmon itself was flaky and cooked to perfection. All of the fish dishes were presented on metal slabs with wooden serving tablets underneath, very elegant and it meant that the fish had the right kind of flavor. Our server kept up with us throughout the mail, and was friendly throughout. I was very impressed with how she attended to my son, who is autistic. There is also a very interesting looking cocktail menu have a good selection of beers, although we weren't able to sample any of it. We discovered this place while exploring the Lower Peninsula! Honestly, it's seemed like the only game in tow nas far as restaurants go. I was asking my wife, "where do all the people around here eat?" Then we found this spot and it was packed! When in the UP, always get the Walleye. Their Walleye platter with brew fries was really amazing. Great portions and very reasonably priced around $20 with two sides. We sat outside on the deck with an awesome view of the Bay. When the sun gets low in June it feels like a laser beam out there where we were. They could use some roll-down see-through blinds on the deck make it a bit more tolerable, but don't miss this place. This was just a random find on the edge of an RV Park. The menu was very extensive and we ordered a variety of items. Happy hour beer specials of $2 was also a nice bonus. Our sever was polite and prompt to seat us outside on the patio deck. They were even nice enough to crank down a shade to make more shade for our party. Our meals were served up fast and were prepared perfectly. The fish (walleye and whitefish) was flaky and cooked to the perfect texture. The toppings on our wraps were crunchy and went well with the protein. The shrimp Alfredo was very tasty with a heavy dose of garlic butter in the sauce. Then there is the view! Just s fantastic way to unwind after a long day on the road, or for a relaxing evening. Don't mind the farms and wind turbines along the way. Enjoy! read more

Ate here from recommendations from my sister's friend. We ordered Chicken Oscar that was billed as being topped with snow crab, shrimp. After waiting over 2 hours it was horribly disappointing to find 1 little shrimp and surimi instead of snow crab. Who does that? The service was okay and none of this was the server's fault but she conveyed my concerns. To sell surimi as snow crab was more than dishonest. It is fraud. The server did take $3 off our bill and said that it was a misprint in the menu. I has one small shrimp. Now I don't live here, my sister and her friends are from Escanaba. This was our third visit to this place because my motorcycle group wanted a place on the water to eat during our ride. Despite my warnings we went. (The two previous visits were horrible) This was on a Sunday and it was not busy with only about 5 cars in the lot. We were seated quickly and we ordered drinks. The waiter came back and said they were all out of the advertised beer. We gave our order and he came back and said they were all out of the pork as well. This was a poor start and just bad logistics for a Sunday night dinner time. We arrived at 5:30 and they were already out of items on a slow night. ‍ We got our drinks and appetizer quickly and then waited about 45 mins for the food which was good. However during this time our glasses sat empty for 25 of those 45 mins and as we thought our waiter was coming out to us he veered right and went and sat on the patio and started talking to someone he knew for 10 mins (she was not eating) We had to flag down another waitress to get water and more drinks. He saw and heard this because I said I didn't want to interrupt his conversation but we were thirsty sitting in the hot sun. He then quickly rushed to the other waitress and intercepted the drinks. I've worked in the food service industry and if one of my employees, especially a waiter sat down to BS while they had an active table they'd be reprimanded or fired! I will definitely not be taking a detour to this place again. read more

This is by far the worst service I've ever experienced. We had a reservation for 6 pm and weren't seated until 6:15 because they could not find enough menus to provide us (the restaurant was half empty). It then took 40 minutes for wait staff to even come to our table. An hour after that, we still had not received our appetizers. When the appetizers did arrive they were the wrong order and still frozen. We had to go to the bar to order our drinks and we received a glass with lipstick stains still on the glass. Really Shakey!!! We just checked in at the RV Campground and walked down to the dock. 1) Menu is limited, not anything that's is listed on-line. 2) Service was bad! Waitress took our order and that was it, couldn't get water, another drink or anything. 3) I ordered wings, says come tossed in favorite sauce with the standard celery and carrots. Gosh this place looks like the owners put a lot of money into it. Being only one of 2 or 3 places that serve food in the Garden area, they get a lot of business. I don't think anything on the menu deserves this kind of attention. It's a hodgepodge of a menu with pizza nachos and salad bar etc and it just wasn't good. If they put money into their food instead of the decor they would be doing themselves a favor. There is no cooking going on here. read more

Stopped in on a recommendation by another, great recommendation. Seven of us rode in and got the best seats in the house overlooking the small docking are and the ba y. Service was friendly and professional. Drink and food orders were taken and service was attentive. The food was delivered hot and to the correct person without the shuffling of plates. The burgers and sandwiches were good and at a fair price. The owner came over to check on us and talked to us about the process of getting the place up and running. The road to the place ends at a gravel road, take that road for about a 1/4 mile or less and you will be happy that you did. Not even a bad road for a motorcycle. read more

Table was not ready when we arrived and when we finally sat down there was no waitress assigned to our table. After watching 3 or 4 waitresses buzz around the room for 40 minutes we had to ask for a waitress. The poor girl really struggled. Some of our party ordered appetizers and they came out still frozen and the wrong order. One of our friends was given a glass of wine with lipstick smudges still on it! It is next to an RV campground so didn't have great expectations. We loved it!! The deck has just been built and has wonderful lake views and lovely wooden furniture. We came up to clean out a relative's cabin. We camped at Bay Ridge for six days and ate here twice during our stay. I had one of the best perch dinners of my life. No kidding. I have had perch dinners all across Lake Erie and all up and down Lake Michigan. I have to say hands down, this place knocked it out of the park! Beautiful view. Beautiful spot overlooking water. Staff was nice enough. We ordered a fish and hamburger baskets. The young waitress missed putting in our order. Thirty minutes she let us know about the problem. It took over a hour and a half to get our food. Finally asked to speak with the manager. No tea refills or much attention until the food arrived. I ordered the hamburger medium well. It came medium rare. I just chalk this up to things sometimes just goes the wrong way. It is a nice spot overlooking Lake Michigan. Beautiful, new restaurant close to Fayette State Park. Right on the water, and with so much promise. Ordered the perch and shrimp scampi along with side salads. Perch was good, seemingly fresh. Shrimp scampi was lacking. Couldn't really taste (or see) the shrimp under the overwhelming mounds of garlic. To top it off, our table was not set, nor was the server attentive. We had to find our own silverware, and we had to search for her to pay the bill, only find to that she was too busy talking to a boy at the bar.
