We were shopping in the area and decided to have lunch. We got there at 1pm and there was a sign that said no seating after 1pm but they took our group of four and several after us. At our table, a couple of their signature dishes were tried and everyone liked them. I had the beet salad. It could have used a lot more beets. Lots of lettuce and cheese and not a lot of other toppings. I got the dressing on the side but it was an oil based dressing and would have been better tossed. Service was good. It was quite loud in there as we hit the end of the lunch service. The cutest Mr and Mrs Claud couple walked in and wished folks Merry Christmas and allowed pics. Very nice. I ended up here for tea with my friends to celebrate nothing in particular. We all got dressed up and made a reservation for seven of us for tea! The restaurant was beautiful and had a variety of people gathered for tea. It was fun to people watch to see who else was there and guess why they had decided to come to tea that day. The selection of tea was extensive. I ended up getting Lavenderberry, but wished I'd gotten the Scarlet one. It was fun to swap tea with my friends at the table. I remember we kept accidentally not putting the strainer in the cup, so we'd end up with tea leaves in our cups. That could be remedied by giving customers teapots with strainers in them instead of removable strainers in the cups. The food was fancy and nice. It was fun to try things I wouldn't have tried otherwise, and I liked everything I tried. I'm not picky! Some of my friends who came along had strong reactions to some of the selections. I gave this experience 4 stars because the service was lacking. We did visit on a weekend, but we sat for probably 30-45 minutes waiting for our bill. The restaurant had cleared out and we couldn't get anyone to help us pay and leave. Also, the Lynhall website lists that the cost for tea is $55. I didn't order anything extra and it wasn't a holiday tea -- I ended up paying about $80. I'm not sure how that happened but like I said it took forever to get our bills, and no one was around to ask about the cost discrepancy. I love the decor in the space and really enjoy how open everything is! It is beautifully designed. Our server was very kind and extremely prompt (which was amazing). Then it took our waitress some time to come to the table and the service overall was average. This could have been just a bad day but we got one "sorry" from the hostess for the seat mixup. Ordered their faith healer as it came recommended by the server. Most of the menu is lunch / brunch type of fair. Makes sense considering they are only open during that time. I ordered their burger and my friend ordered the beet and burrata salad. The food came out fairly quickly. The burger was cooked well and the bun was not soggy. Bonus points for that. Good flavor and a solid burger. The salad was also well balanced and tasty. Unfortunately, there was ab ug in the salad. Which my friend took out. And told the server about it. Soon after, the manager came over and took the salad and changed it out. Apologizing for the issue. Stuff happens but they handled it very professionally and were apologetic. So I give them credit for that. Did it sour the experience a little? Yes. But like i said, stuff happens. Overall it was a decent dining experience with good vibes and solid food. We just left Lynhall where we had reservations for afternoon tea. The space is well designed and seating was comfortable. Our wait person, Elizabeth, was very helpful. We booked online and looked at the menu before arriving. I was fairly certain that this would not be the holiday tea menu at an additional $10 per person making the tab $65. I have to say, the menu online looked fantastic and definitely better than any other teas we've been to in past years. We were very disappointed. Their menu online boasts prime rib croissants so I was thinking something even better for the extra charge. Boy was I wrong. We were given chicken salad, beets and hummus tarts. Two of the three are VERY polarizing foods. The food had all been sitting out on the tables before we arrived so nothing was served hot or fresh out of the kitchen. The Parmesan savory scones were so overly salted that most were left uneaten. I'm sorry to say that we won't be back. The bang for the buck (over $400 for five of us) is just not there. First time coming the The Lynhall in Edina and had a 10:30am Wednesday reservation for brunch with a couple colleagues from work. The ambiance was incredible, very "homey" and "warm" feeling. At the time of our reservation it was not very busy but I could see this location getting incredibly busy so reservations would be smart. I noticed that the restaurant space is very wide and open, which is nice when it's not busy because it feels large inside. However, I could see it getting quite crowded and loud during the busier hours of the day so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quiet spot to eat at. I ordered the Summer Vegetable Hash. It was good, although quite a bit of potato and not as much veg as I would have thought. It did come with two eggs over easy, which were good. I didn't enjoy this dish as much as I thought I would and wouldn't order it again, however I would be open to trying other dishes on the menu next time - and I'll certainly be back to do so. It's a cute place and the servers and staff were all very nice and cordial. Dress attire for the staff was a little interesting (ie. baggy jeans with holes, midriff showing shirts, etc) and would be nice to see the staff wearing more streamlined attire, but I understand the desire for restaurants to allow a little more personality from their staff in terms of attire. Stop in and try The Lynhall if you're in the Edina area and are looking for a different spot to grab brunch. It's fun to try new places and different foods! read more

This place is absolutely delightful! Super cute, charming decor. It was the perfect restaurant for our girls brunch. We needed a place that could accommodate for our group of 6 and they did so beautifully! Located in 50th and France, Edina shopping area, it doesn't have its own parking but you can park in any of the nearby ramps or lots. The food and drinks were scrumptious! I seriously can't get over how good the mushroom crepes were! It had a ricotta base with creamy mushrooms and some crunchy walnuts on top. I'd totally order this again and again when I come back! It was that good! They had different flavored mimosas and since blueberry flavored anything is my favorite, I was ecstatic to order the blueberry mimosa. It did not disappoint! I highly recommend this restaurant for group brunches or lunches as it's very accommodating for big groups and gatherings with the wide open space and large tables. The service was friendly and fast! Wow what a treat. I'm not a big going out to brunch gal but this was worth it! I started with a delightful gingerbread latte with a gingerbread man stenciled on it. Then I tried the dish with eggplant in it. Started with an s ( I know I should know the name) anyway came in a lil casserole dish with a salad on the side plus chickpea fries. The place can be a bit tricky to find, but don't give up. You may need to turn on your google map for walking directions after you park your car in the 50th & France area of Edina. I was greeted promptly by a couple of staff and brought to a cute smallish table and I wondered since there were going to be four of us instead of the three that our reservation had been made for might be a bit snug and the server totally agreed and brought me to another larger table and did offer to take my drink order while I waited for the others to arrive even though she didn't end up being our main server. I love that kind of team work in the food biz. I had an expresso martini, eggs benny and I got the fried potatoes (so nummy) instead of the mixed greens which it normally comes with. Came here to celebrate my birthday + engagement and I've been looking forward to having a high tea experience for a while now! First of the place looks very beautiful and when I walked in the place was packed which is why you should do reservations before hand. Service was okay there wasn't any sort of personal experience that made the experience unique. There were a few times where it was not clear how to call for more water to your individual tea pot as some tables got refills. I will say it is very best how in the beginning you'll have someone with a cart come and give you the specific tea you want to try! I went with a lavender one and it was delicious ! The food was okay. I was a little surprised to not see your typical tea sandwiches. The savory level was okay but the salmon and beet sandwich was a bit hard to eat. I wished some of the pastries were either warm as opposed to cold. The desserts were also okay nothing that blew me away to say wow I need to come back and try this again. Don't get me wrong the presentation of the experience was beautiful and the place is really well decorated & I was in great company celebrating a special moment with friends which made it special but I have to say it didn't live up to the hype. We had the chance to go to LynnHall's afternoon tea. It was their autumn selection for food and drinks. If you have never been to the LynnHall, the ambience and venue is super cute. I know they do a lot of events here, and the venue itself would not need any decorating. It's that great! For the afternoon tea, you get a tower, full of different pastries, scones, sandwiches, desserts. Since I'm gluten-free, I got the gluten-free selection. And it did not disappoint. If you're gluten-free, you know that most of our pastries tend to be dry, these were super moist albeit a little dense, but you really couldn't taste that it was gluten-free. The tea selections were great, I went with a peach tea. They refill your water as often as you'd like so you definitely can have more than one pot of tea. They do offer selection of adult beverages, and coffees. We stuck with tea this time. There is way too much food so you get a to go box to take your leftovers home. It was a great treat for me this week having different pastries every morning. Also do not sleep on the jam and clotted cream, those are great! This is a review for their Christmas season afternoon tea. Doing high tea is one of our family traditions, and this was a trial of a new spot for us. Unfortunately, while nothing was truly bad, I think we'll be going next year back to our usual spot (Mad Hatter in Anoka), because there were definitely rough spots, and we were left feeling like we did not get value for money. Let's start with the good, which was that most of the items on the tier were pretty good! Everyone loved the latke with apple compote, the gingerbread cake, the citrus babka, and the fig cookie. They had a solid tea selection, and they've taken the advice of a past review and just included the price of the tea in the overall price. OK, now the rough spots. You walk in and you're met with a table set with jam and clotted cream. So there's scones, right? And little sandwiches? You know, like you expect at tea? Nope. I have no idea why this is in the middle of the table, other than to create an attractive nuisance for children. Or, perhaps, it's meant to substitute for the jelly in the advertised mini jelly donut, which didn't have any filling? Or the rainbow Italian cake, about which we were told "oh, we just didn't have them today" with nothing substituted (and no change in the price of the tea)? You can of course tell me that I should have looked at the menu in advance... but it was not posted online at the reservation time, because for holiday tea you have to reserve three months in advance. The kid's option is a little weak. It is enough food for a seven year old, but the ten year old was hungry and stealing stuff from the adults. There also aren't strong caffeine free options. They did do hot chocolate upon request, which probably prevented a very angry small human. Finally, just the sheer amount of random legalese and fees on this menu. 5% service charge, but it's not a tip, so leave a tip too! Also 4% credit card charge, so you knew to bring $200-300 in cash, right? And because we know you'll be annoyed, here's the federal law that says we can. I know you can, but maybe you could just price all that crud in on top so I know what I'm signing up for? (Though I guess this way I didn't have to tip on all the fees? ) It's all legal, it's just annoying. read more

I felt it was a bit heavy on the potatoes and would have liked a more even ratio of veggies but it was still a nice dish- that's my one critique. Some dishes are a bit ok the higher end of price for what you get. However overall it's a great spot and I would recommend. In the heart of 50th & France, this beautiful brunch spot is a must try! I walked-in without making a reservation and had to wait a bit since it was so busy. The space is so modern, classy, and gorgeous for all occasions! A lot of their pastries were sold out, but I got to try to blueberry early grey muffin and WOW - that's good stuff! I wasn't the biggest fan of the lemon tea cake - it was super dry and tough to swallow. The food itself was so good - the Lynhall Special is reasonably priced and high quality food. Our party of three shared the gluten free almond paste based tart and it was exceptional, and super rich so nice for sharing with others. The seasonal vegetable hash is always amazing, a big bowl of roasted Brussels, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, kale, and more. This comes with a smoky tomato based sauce and eggs to order, I had scrambled. The dish was garnished this time (Fall) with cilantro and normally comes with smoked mozzarella, but I omitted the cheese. The dish was very filling and I didn't finish everything. I love getting the brunch bundle deal where you get hot coffee, a mimosa, a pastry item and select entrees which typically can be either the shashouka, classic Benedict, Lynhall special or one of the rotating seasonal plates. It's so hard for me not to get the matcha cinnamon roll, but all of the pastries are great. Aside from being delicious, the service is always great and I love how much natural light makes up the space. From the moment we arrived, I felt like a second class citizen-- we walked in right behind another couple who were immediately taken to their seats. The hostess did not return to seat us for quite awhile, despite the place being relatively empty and us having reservations. The table next to us was seated at least five minutes after we were, yet they had received some of their food before our order was even taken! The same table was cleared away before we finally received our bill. I asked for more water, but never received it. I ordered the macerated strawberry waffle, which the menu advertised as having pistachios-- I saw/tasted no evidence of any pistachios in or on the waffle. The "melted butter" was actually a scoop of softened butter. The classic benny tasted "fine"-- nothing special. I loved the old Lynhall, but I've had some not so good experiences at this location. Food is good, but service isn't always great and prices are a little high. Speaking from my most recent experience, upon arrival we were told that my friend and I could not be seated because they were only taking reservations for the rest of the day, we left disappointed, but upon looking online we found several open reservations so we just made reservations and went back and then we were seated. I feel the hostess should have at least told us that was an option. Once seated, service was terrible. From long wait times between ordering, to forgotten items and even our drinks came at exactly the same time as our food which was about 20 minutes after we were seated. Our waitress seemed to have forgotten our table and someone else had to come assist. Food was very good, however the waitress did forget to place some of the order so we didn't have everything. I ended up having to take some of the food to-go. I feel like the prices weren't worth the experience The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that I know place are short staffed so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt but I can't say I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

They were extremely short staffed with what I could see was only two waiters and one hostess for the whole restaurant. As you can imagine it took awhile to get food and drinks was understanding and say service was 5/5. Where I docked it down a point was the sausage was dry for the side we added to the potato skillet.
