Ask the Community - RH Rooftop Restaurant at RH Minneapolis

Is there a full bar for cocktails? I see only beer and wine on the online menu.

They only have wine, beer and champagne

Can I bring a baby here for a cocktail at 6 pm on a Sunday?

Not sure if that would be ok, you may want to call and inquire.

Is this place baby friendly during dinner service?

I would seriously doubt it. I'd call them to check.

We are doing a small celebration for a friend - can we bring in balloons?

yes, I was here in mid-July and saw a table near mine that brought balloons!

The Hilltop, somewhat west of the 50th and France downtown vibe, is the epitome of what a bar and grill should be. There are multiple TVs to watch games, the staff is fun, and the food is fantastic. My Tuna Melt was one of the best, and my wife's chopped salad was great. When I spied pecan pie on the menu, it was pig-out time. That pie was delicious. Everything at the Hilltop is homemade. We sat at the bar, and everyone was friendly. Conversations flowed from us to other patrons to the servers. Wow, that's what a local bar and grill should be about. I loved the Hilltop and will return.

Even the toast was a step above. Wife loved the OJ. Even though it was slammed, it was clean. The good - service was polite, nice, got the order right. It was rushed. They could of used another wait staff. I tipped 20% because staffing levels is a management problem, not a wait staff failure. Inside is nice. Kind of 90's supper club. The fail? Boxed holindaise sauce mix. Come on. $20 for eggs Benedict and you can't take 30 seconds to make real holindaise? And it wasn't a great mix. $50 for breakfast for two (with tip), you get held to a higher standard. 4 stars, not 5

Very small parking lot available, so plan on nearby street parking! The space itself is nicely decorated in a clean, modern style with a touch of farmhouse decor to beckon back to their namesake. Tables available for small or larger groups available. Our server was very friendly and attentive to us during the visit! I love that they have brunch and lunch menu, depending on your vibe! On this visit, I had the burrito breakfast and it was so yummy! Large serving of carnitas, with plenty of other toppings that balance each other out without over powering. I'd definitely have it again!

(They did try to put us at a 6 person booth and had to veto that lol). Our server was friendly and gave great recommendations on drinks. The only one we didnt enjoy was the dirty soda with dr pibb & lemon cream.. not for us! I loved the wine selection. I ordered the tuna melt and it was suprisingly really good? Its the first time trying one & would definitely get it again. I dont enjoy that fries/sides are included with the meal & will usually be my biggest qualm with red cow. Other than that we had a great time as a group and celebrating our friends engagement!

Back to Pink Ivy. The service is quality. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The reservation policy may seem "strict", but if you can live with needing to provide a 24 cancel notice, I think you will find the service is good because the business doesn't get slammed by unexpected high demand. Wait person timing was off a tad when we first sat down. It felt a little rushed as we order our drinks and considered a starter. In fairness, a table of 16-20 followed us in so the wait person may have been doing us a favor. But it did influence my four star rating. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars. Great care was taken when wait person checked for allergies. Not just asked, but noted and went to the kitchen to confirm. During the meal, flatware was changed out between courses, water refilled without disruption and the order arrived on time and all at one time. Our group enjoyed the halibut, salmon, and chicken bacon meatball items. Everyone loved their meals. A few of us ordered and split salads. We passed on desserts. The menu range may not be pages long, but all the usual suspects are there; salads, fish, poultry, beef, and pasta. And I know the chef rotates items on the menu. I encourage you to plan ahead. Reservations fill up days in advance. I think you'll find it worth the extra planning. PS my ratings are adjusted for the type of venue. These are not Michelin stars.

I asked the waitress if they were normally busy and she said usually weekends. I ordered coffee and biscuits with sausage gravy and eggs. Had a discussion with the waitress about whether they could make basted eggs which she thought they could. Shortly afterward she brought out what appeared at first to be a lovely breakfast. Hash browns came with it. These hash browns were spectacular, hot and wonderful. It pains me to say everything else was ice cold: the eggs, biscuits, the gravy, and the six pieces of sausage thrown on top of the biscuits, with none in the actual sauce. The eggs were perfectly cooked but cold. I really don't understand how things were so cold right out of the kitchen. And, obviously, they don't know how to make biscuits and gravy. I told the waitress that everything was cold except the hash browns and she took a few dollars off my bill. She was lovely. We spoke for a few minutes about the old Lincoln Del where she used to work and where I spent so much time in my youth. I boxed up my leftovers, the waitress gave me coffee to go, and I left. I suspect I won't be eating the leftovers. Do I recommend the Convention Grill? Not for breakfast anyway. But would still go for burgers, fries, and malts. They also have a killer egg salad sandwich!
