Decided to try this place out for Mother's Day. Found out it was reservation only (I'm guessing because it was Mother's Day busy). They did not take walk-in but you could wait around if reservation didn't show up. However, it was truly our lucky day because I think it was the manager that stepped in and asked how big is our party and because we were just 2 adult and 1 baby, they were able to split a table for us to get seated right away! I did not catch the name but I do want to say we really appreciate the awesome service! Ambient is a bit loud here. We sat right in front of the kitchen so could hear the pots and pans as well but it wasn't a problem. They have a cute set up which is also nice. Iced Strawberry Matcha- seasonal drink according to the seasonal side menu. Nothing special but you can definitely taste the match and strawberry. It tasted like fresh strawberry in matcha. It just didn't seem like they mix well together to me. But not a bad drink. For me, it could be sweeter but I'm on the sweeter side. South style fried chicken and waffle: portion is big. Love the gravy and also jalapeño syrup. Very different yet delicious. I was going back and forth between this and the normal chicken and waffle but I think the original looks like chicken strips with waffle so it didn't catch my eye. Definitely recommend to try. Monkey cake: who doesn't love chocolate, peanut butter, banana on a pancake? Super sweet of course but it was also good. The service is good and fast. Food came out pretty quickly I would say so we didn't have to wait long. For a busy day, we were in and out within maybe 45 mins or an hour? The food was too salty, and the customer service was disappointing. I ordered a steak that came with hash browns, but I was still charged for an extra hash brown because the server never explained there would be an additional charge. They also forgot my eggs, and this wasn't the first time they left an item out of my order. I recommend checking your order before leaving. We came here for a work breakfast to celebrate tax season being over and we were really excited because the menu looked amazing.. The service was great, our server was nice, remembered everything, attentive, and all the things that you would want from your server. No issues there. It's cute in there. It isn't a standard breakfast spot, it's got some decor to it, and it's got a nice, clean, energetic ambiance.. no issues there. The food sucked. First off, we all ordered totally different things and everything was just very MEH MEH. Nothing was amazing, and it was shocking because the food came out not even 7 minutes after we ordered.. and it was a large order. In that moment I knew it was not going to be amazing because there is just nooo way it can come out that fast. I got the cheesy grits and the smoked salmon bagel sandwich. First off, they slathered so much pimento cream cheese on there it totally cancelled out anything else. Secondly, there was hardly any smoked salmon on there. Very very disappointing! I could have gone to Breuggers and gotten a better smoked salmon bagel sandwich.. which for $20... should not have been the case. The only thing that I actually enjoyed was my cardamom pistachio oatmilk latte.. it just sucked though because they served it in this huge glass and it got cold really fast! Subpar. I have gone to both the Edina and Eagan locations of Hope breakfast bar and have had good experiences with both. The only issue I have had so far is simply that it is a very busy business and can be a long wait time depending on the day and time you come in. For the food I've had the chicken and waffles, the pimento chicken biscuit, and the dill pickle pretzel. Chicken biscuit - I enjoyed this but wouldn't necessarily order again - the pickles veggies included carrots which was interesting but the hot honey glazed chicken tender was delish The dill pickle pretzel was surprisingly very delicious - the pretzel itself was SO GOOD and the savory dill seasoning on top was it also came with a pickle seasoned cream cheese but I honestly ate a lot of the pretzel without it - Definitely something you'd want to share with multiple people though (it's 3 lbs.) Lastly I had the fried chicken and waffles - this one was not what I expected because what I meant/thought I had ordered was the SOUTHERN fried chicken and waffles which includes gravy and bone in chicken. Anyway it was good for what it was but obviously different than my expectation (I wish the waitress had maybe clarified or asked which chicken and waffles I wanted). Overall this restaurant is a cute place with good food and I would definitely come again to try other things on the menu. read more

The fried steak was crispy crunchy and topped with a savory gravy with chunks of mushrooms. Our Thursday reservation was for 12:30. We arrived 15 minutes early, but were seated immediately. Service was attentive and friendly. We were in and out in 40 minutes. Ambiance is casual modern. I especially love their salt and pepper shakers that are shaped like eggs - adorable! I met a colleague here for a business meeting and it was a great place to connect. It's nice and bright in here and has a good energy vibe. I ordered buttermilk pancakes for breakfast and my friend got the blueberry pancakes. I loved my stack. Ate three pancakes without hesitation. Nice scoop of whipped butter on top and plenty of syrup. My friend said the blueberry pancakes were a bit too sweet so maybe next time ask for blueberry sauce on the side. I also had a hot latte which was delicious. Our family went to Hope Breakfast Bar while we were in town for a quick getaway. I love the clean, bright atmosphere and the staff was all friendly and welcoming. There are lots of unique food choices as well as some classics. I ordered the pork belly and biscuit which was so good, however I did wish for a side salad or a fresh bite with the super savory dish. My husband got the Hawaiian bowl which was also tasty but definitely more of a lunch dish. Bloody's were good and our kids enjoyed a super fun NA unicorn mimosa. We had been to the St. Paul location once but this was our first time at the Edina location. It is so cozy and well-designed inside. The restaurant was bright and the opened garage-style doors leading to the outdoor eating area were great. We had great service and phenomenal food. The photos speak for themselves!! My only complaints: - The water glasses were so small and we would have definitely appreciated a water pitcher being left at the table so we could pour refills. - We ordered coffee beverages and they did not arrive until we were halfway done with our meals. Since my first visit here over a year ago when they were still rather new, I've been back a couple times and I still stand by a lot of what I wrote then but have a few new things to say about Hope. If your plan is to go on a weekend for brunch/breakfast, plan to go early or plan to wait. We went yesterday (there were 2 of us) and we waited almost 45 minutes for a table. Once you're inside and seated, the place is LOUD. One of the loudest restaurants I can remember in a while. Every table is full up and the place has very little buffers for sound. As for the food, I've tried a few more dishes and they aren't really bad. They are mostly just OK. The menu is giving off "fancy brunch" but the actual taste is giving "we tried." Once I heaped on some salt and pepper it made things a lot better. Unfortunately, my breakfast partner and I both got cold hashbrowns yesterday (literally just barely cooked potatoes with no seasonings). Kinda weird when they're so busy. Went at about 2pm on a Friday and chose to sit outside. Took a minute for the waitress but she brought water, which I always appreciate and let us know no alcohol outside but that is fine because we weren't planning on drinking. Tiny, one stalls (3, one being a handicap stall) , where a man had left the toilet used and seat up... EW i opted for the 3rd less recently used stall... I'm a regular size human and it was tight... then the SINKS are so low its like for children it hurt my back, I'm 5'5. Also, nowhere to put ur purse while washing hands so that also isn't impressive. Once we got seated, service was very slow. We sat for about 15-20 min. Waiting for our check, and my fountain drink was never refilled. The food looks good, but it isn't. I love pickled veggies, but both our dishes were covered in massive amounts of pickled veg. The pickling is very sweet and doesn't have any tang or spice. We didn't like it and felt like it ruined both dishes. We got the chili crisp bowl and Avo toast. The chili crisp bowl was extremely light on chiii crisp and the Avo toast was too light on everything seasoning. The Avo toast should be called guac toast- it tasted like store bought guac and the toast didn't seem toasted at all. It's a cute spot but maybe focus on coffee and drinks. Skip the food. It is just a warmed up croissant with filling which they drown it in.The tostadas weren't bad (although it was served lukewarm) and the red velvet waffle was delicious. The chicken tenders are absolutely frozen then reheated Sysco or Costco quality (look at the pics). If you are ok with cafeteria level food with a nice ambiance then this place is for you. Great brunch spot located in Edina and in a large shopping center area to make parking easier. They have a huge inside area that is very vibrant and filled with lots of people on a Saturday. They have alcoholic drinks and a huge coffee bar area. I asked what the most popular latte is and they said the sea salt caramel and the pistachio cardamom so me and my brother got them both, they were both really good and a huge serving! I read reviews and looked around and everyone gets the breakfast sandwich which is an everything bagel, cream cheese, egg, bacon, and cheese with a side of hash downs and it's such a huge portion! Really nice place, bright, clean, well staffed. They fill your coffee mug, and it's a mug not a cup, and leave a Stanley thermos of coffee on the table-LOVE that! My eggs, sunny side up, were perfect, hash browns were great but the star of the show was the side order of sausage gravy, perhaps the best I've ever had and I order that a LOT! The also leave a card on the table you can write about your troubles and worries and the staff will pray for you at the end of the week. Now I'm not a religious person so my first thought was "how silly", with that said, by the restroom there is an area where, let's call them prayers in waiting were hanging, and that was full. Clearly far more people think it is not silly than there are those of us who do. So more power to them, it is a nice jester and speaks to the kind of people you will encounter there.
