Was on Hutchinson Island for work, and it was first time in the area but I was travelling with a co-worker who'd been here before and he said we HAD TO go to the Magic Oyster. It's on the end of a small strip mall that also has a traditional touristy beach shop and an ice cream place. I really wasn't expecting it to be great but I was sooo wrong. They were still busy at 8 pm on a Thursday in the winter. We sat outside on their charming patio, which had such good landscaping I forgot I was in a strip mall parking lot. I started with the Magic Oyster Combo- 6 of their cooked oyster specialties: Rockefeller, Island Oysters (artichoke hearts, red peppers and butter) and Roasted (with garlic and parmesan). They were all absolutely delicious but the simpler Roasted Oysters were my favorite. My co-worker had the Mahi Mahi spread that he enjoyed but was not something I would have eaten. For dinner I had the Big Magic Combo (Fried cod, coconut shrimp and fried scallops). The seafood was amazingly fresh, seasoned perfectly and just sooooo good. Even the side of green beans was well done. I even ordered dessert- an orange cake- that tasted like the essence of Florida made into a dessert. It was to die for and the perfect amount of sweetness to end the meal. I don't know if I'll ever get sent back to Jensen Beach but if I do, I'm going back to the Magic Oyster. read more

The menu is decent, with good variety, heavy on oysters and clam dishes, which fits well with the name. I selected three appetizers for my dinner and my wife had one of the specials, grilled rainbow trout. Her dish was a flaky, tender and well seasoned butterflied presentation. It was very good. The accompanying baked sweet potato was good but the green beans were a bit flavorless. My three appetizers included blue point oysters on the half shell, roasted oysters and calamari. The raw oysters were a bit small but delicious. The roasted oysters were lackluster, not enough butter and if there were some garlic in the butter, it was definitely not enough. They really needed something more to punch up their flavor. They were also a bit small. I have had similar presentations that were far superior in more than one Gulf Coast restaurant. Finally, the calamari were nice and crunchy, but very much needed salt. The chipotle mayo was off-putting to me, but the tartar sauce I requested was a better way to go. Finally, the service was spotty. Our server was obviously slammed, but offered no explanation nor an apology for not checking on us more frequently. More than once I had to quickly ask for something I needed before she could scuttle away. She did bring a much needed iced tea refill, but only after it was well past needing to be done. I'm sure it was not entirely her fault, they were obviously understaffed and very busy, but she could have made us feel a little more appreciated than she did. read more

After waiting over 2 hours, our expectations were high. Sadly, food was sub-par at best. Even worse, the food was cold, like less than room temperature. The oysters were not cleaned well. Each one had more shell than meat, and at $3.00 each, again, we had high expectations. We came on Easter weekend when everything should have been hot, fresh, and delicious. When the manager spoke to us, we told her we were too hungry to have anything re-done. We were given a full bill, everything we touched, we paid for. They offered dessert on the house, but, only had 2 choices, peanut butter pie and salted caramel cheesecake. We will not be back and hope nobody else has this experience. read more

I think this is one of those places that gets high marks because it's frequented by people who've never been fond of real food in real places? In town for yet another baseball tournament and saw the reviews on this place plus the hotel staff recommended it. The oysters Rockefeller were great to start, oversized, and from Virginia. I had the Mahi tacos blackened which were huge and delicious! My son had the encrusted cod dish which was also great. The only catch is call ahead to reduce the wait. read more

The Magic Oyster is tucked away in a little strip mall. The decor is colorful and fun. It's a mostly seafood menu. There are some choices for non-seafood lovers. The raw oysters were big and tasted like sweet ocean water. The fried fish and fried oysters were good also. The bisque was super creamy and tasty. Our server was so cute and attentive. At happy hour the bar was hopping. Not a seat available. We missed the fun. Luckily, there was no wait for a table on a Monday night. Nothing better than a fun spot with good food. read more

Another place where you can get great seafood at a great price! The menu is packed... meaning with options! The calamari is fantastic! I couldn't stop eating it! The lobster bisque is very rich and creamy! It was delicious, but I could hear feel my body fat percentage rising with every spoonful. I only had a small cup! Lol! They have craft beer on tap! I had a glass of their delicious white pale ale, Walking Tree! I normally drink wine, but I really liked the price! $5.25 per glass. It's located across the street from the Ocean and my hotel, so no ocean view but the interior is pretty cool. Charging stations under the bar! Cool table tops. Great little place on the island. Fresh seafood, especially the oysters, and cold beer; a winning combination. The grouper Reuben was amazing, as were the mussels, and grouper fingers. After doing a lot of research we decided to give this place a try. We rely heavily on star rating and this restaurant faired very well. With that said I must say I was very disappointed. Our entire party could only give the restaurant an "ok" rating. My wife got the Horseradish Grouper and it was way way overcooked almost to the point I thought it was chicken. On the menu they had a special for Whole Maine Lobster for $25.00, it was good especially for the price but not amazing. The place was busy so obviously it is popular with the locals but I must say I'm not sure why. They did do a good job with the Covid mandates and sanitation. Seafood is always perfectly prepared. Service courteous. Great atmosphere. If you want good seafood this is the place.

We have always avoided this place for some reason, but it was recommended by the hotel staff that we give it a try. I can honestly say, I am glad we did. The atmosphere at the bar was fun. The fish dip was good and my husband is a snob about that. I really enjoyed the oyster trio. The coconut shrimp dinner with rice and broccoli was great. We came here at least 2 times a week during the last two years we stayed for 2 months each year. We always raved about it to all of our friends and even brought them here. We loved the food and the comraderie at the bar. Because of COVID we are not comfortable sitting at the bar but we have been sitting outside and feel very comfortable there. The fresh clam strips were always a treat when they had them and this year they have them all the time but unfortunately they are now too heavily breaded and I don't care for them. I couldn't wait to try the wings but they too are breaded and the breading is very heavy like eating KFC only no seasoning. The soups this year are way too thick and salty that we couldn't finish them. We do love their pasta with shrimp and scallops and their peel and eat shrimp. I just feel that they may have gotten a new chef or decided to change their recipes a bit. We will probably still go because it one of the few places we feel safe but I'll just keep away from the fried items. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem that you end up coming across by accident. If you are fortunate enough to have done so you're very lucky. My boyfriend has lived in Stuart for years and never been here or have heard of it. Everything about this place screams Florida. The decor is coastal and that theme goes right into the seating area. I ordered the stuff Shrimp which was very tasty. Our appetizer was clams and crab Mac and cheese. That was pretty damn good also. I'm only complaint was our server. He kinda sucked at it. Didn't stop by our table for long periods of time and our drinks were empty too long. It got to the point that our friend went searching for a server.
