I find myself coming here because is conveniently located in Columbia Maryland. I usually visit Macy's, Nordstrom and JC Penny. I avoid coming on a Sunday afternoon because it's usually packed. The public areas of the mall are always clean including the mall restrooms. My only complaint is that parking can be challenging. read more

On this nice Saturday, I decided to go to the mall for a couple of stores. It was a great day after being locked down with bouts of snow and ice. This mall is still viable and family friendly. Parking is hard for those needing disability parking as its not many spots close. Had a nice dinner with my family at Maggiano's. I took the leftovers to the car while my wife and Kids went inside the mall.. Then I walked in to join them couldn't find them right away so I was looking around for them. Maybe that got the board security guys watching the cameras wondering who the heck I was. Then I connect with my wife by phone and she told me where to meet them so I started walking that way. While walking, I walked past canine security and apparently something about me triggered the dog cause I'm walking to security guys flanked me on my left and asked if they could speak with me wanted me to wait till canine Security came back canine Security was armed and I complied with the request. So the security guy asked if I was carrying a firearm. I told him no then he asked if I had firearms at home and I told him I didn't have to answer that and so I pointed out to them at that point that I've been at Maggiano's and had a smoked old-fashioned, and my wife had blown out birthday candles and there was smoke from that and maybe that's what had got the dog wondering about me. They didn't care and then they asked if I consent to a search and I said no and so I asked him what's next. Do I leave or what are they gonna do and they said they could escort me to the nearest exit to where I was parked so I left and we didn't spend money at the mall and I'm not sure we'll go back to Maggiano's. The security guys were professional, but it seems like kind of a ridiculous policy that leads them to kick out military veterans who serve their country in places nobody else wants to go to. At least they let me leave in peace. By the way, the parking garage reeked of marijuana. So glad the mall is cool with drugs, but law abiding veterans are not welcome. read more

The Mall in Columbia is one of the nicer malls in Maryland. It's clean, well-lit, and welcoming. It's perfect for a day of shopping or dining. The major department stores are Nordstrom and Macy's, and there's a variety of other retailers including H&M, J.Crew, Express, The Loft, Aldo, Victoria's Secret, Sephora, Coach, and Anthropologie, to name a few. The mall has two levels and is fairly easy to navigate. I love the outdoor courtyard on the second level, which features select retailers and restaurants like Seasons 52, The Cheesecake Factory, Unlce Julio's, and Maggiano's. The food court also offers plenty of options for every craving and for whatever reason you still can't find something you want to eat there's a lot of neighborhood favorites within walking or a short drive to eat like my favorite, The Food Market. For families, there's even a carousel on the second level that adds a touch of charm. Just outside in the courtyard, you'll find Barnes & Noble and MainStage, though they aren't directly connected to the mall, so you'll need to step outside to access it. Whether you're shopping, grabbing a bite, or just people-watching with a good book, The Mall in Columbia offers a comfortable and enjoyable experience with plenty of cozy nooks to relax. read more

I enjoyed walking around the mall and browsing the storefronts. I do wish there were a better balance of women's and men's clothing stores--it's hard to find men's clothing with such limited options. The food court is huge with plenty of choices, and there are lots of tables to sit and eat. The restrooms are very clean, and parking is plentiful. read more

Can't go wrong with this mall. It's reasonably clean for a mall, with a food court, basically all of the usually seen stores, a carousel, and a movie theatre nearby. There's also a bookstore nearby, with the parking lot being objectively large. An absolute iconic gem in the Columbia area, the shops have a wide selection of products, with a lot of workers there being very friendly. Prices are of a normal mall, expensive. Definitely will be shopping here for things I need quickly. read more

Honestly, I felt like this a very down level degraded mall. I'm disappointed and will take my shopping to Tysons instead.

My first time at this mall and I brought my daughter to play at the free play space. A security guard approaches me and says "can you read?!?" He points at the sign aggressively by the entrance which states "no food or drink allowed". I apologized and admitted that I did not see the sign. He told me to leave immediately and my daughter started crying... meanwhile other kids have their drinks in here but I guess security didn't see them. Overall, playspace is nice but security is RUDE!!!!! I thought they were here to monitor our safety, keep dangerous people away from the play space even but no... a cup of juice is the real threat!!! With one of the few actual shopping malls left they have acquired wanted stores like Lululemon under armor Sephora .... All the things we want. The mall is insanely ghetto, shooting after shooting can't help but make you think "I'll get shot" However i never found this mall threatening. As a frequent at this mall, I recommend, all of the stores are nice, the workers are usually polite, security is on point with security patrolling the building at a constant. However, to children, the mall is amazing, the security guards are polite even when the kids are in the wrong. They give warnings, demonstrate patience and understanding with kids. The quantity of stores in the area of the mall is amazing, so much to choose from! I would definitely recommend coming to this mall. read more

I enjoyed every single aspect of this mall, except for one huge thing. Before I go in the direction with this review, let's talk about the highlights. The biggest draw here is they actually have stores that you want to shop at. Also, there was rarely an empty storefront here. I did about two good laps around this mall, maybe three, to explore everything it had to offer. I know that I had exited the mall a different way than I entered because it would allow me access to more stores that way. I didn't want to overlook anything here, but at the same time I felt a bit overwhelmed by it all. To say that there were people everywhere would be a huge understatement. I mean it did not matter which direction you wanted to walk you would have weave your way through the crowds of people. Back to the huge thing that I didn't expect, nor want to deal with, was the parking situation. Yikes, is it a nightmare. Prepare yourself, and bring a good pair of walking shoes. I had gone up and down so many lanes of parking before I was finally able to find a spot to park. If you are lucky you might find a good spot towards the entrances. If not, you may be parking near the street lined with some stores and apartments (I think) overlooking the complex. Swear I almost saw a fight break out over parking. Then to leave here, do a bit of research beforehand. Plan your exit or you will just be pushed with the flow of traffic. read more

Your security NEEDS to be better. This is ridiculous. This cannot keep happening. The 'security measures' lately have been a joke. Violence, weapons, fights breaking out...It is not safe. Security takes over 30 minutes to show up to threats and fights and refuse to help. Employees have advised against calling security because of how useless they are. We all feel slighted by the 'security' measures. Please do better. Our community deserves to feel safe. This is unacceptable. read more

How could I not have reviewed this mall?! Well before now. This has been my go to for shopping for a long time now. They have all the stores I like and parking is never an issue (except during the holidays). There's plenty of options for food and drinks! I came here so much that when the shooting happened here some years ago, folks were checking in on me. Fortunately I wasn't here during that incident but it was very sad! I recently came for a visit (first time since earlier in the year...pre-covid). It feels and looks differently now. Very desserted. Some stores are even closed! Not many shoppers around. The Mall in Columbia 10300 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia, Md opens at 10 am closes 8pm This mall has many unique shops, dining, and even play for little ones. I wanted to go shopping for some spring clothing for my honey and this Mall had more of the stores we wanted to shop at like the Loft, Ann Taylor, and Macy's. This is one of my favorite malls in the area. Parking lot is spacious. I always recommend parking far away since people dont know how to park. There is endless of good restaurants to chose from, although they are not directly inside the mall. They are visible from the parking lot. Security is very visible and are not lazy. Constantly patrolling all over. I rarely see any foolishness. They have a lot of good stores. They have a Main Event which is similar but better that Dave n Busters. The hours have changed since the pandemic. They close early now. Make sure you call before you go. read more

I like this mall more than the other close option, Arundal Mills mall. They have more upscale stores here such as a Sephora, lululemon, Nordstrom, peloton, Williams Sonoma, MAC, Arhaus, and Anthropology. Tons of options in the food court: Chick-fil-A, Sarku sushi, five guys, a salad place, Popeyes, Chinese food, Auntie Annie's, and more. But if you need something fancier there are nicer sit down/dine in restaurants that surround the mall such as the Cheesecake Factory, uncle Julio's, and PF Changs. They have boba tea as well just a few stores away from the food court! They have an AMC theatre was well on the outside area of the mall as well as a Barnes and Nobles and even a Lidl! There is plenty of parking circling the whole entire mall and plenty of charging spots for electric cars scattered around close to the entrances. ***COVID-19 Mass Vax Site Review*** This is one of the newest mass COVID vaccination sites in the state, opened in late April/early May. When I saw this on the list of choices during pre-registration, I was a little confused about where they would possibly set up. I was thinking tents in the parking lot somehow, a la the fair when it comes to town. Took a family member who speaks very little English here for her first appointment and was thrilled to see things labeled very clearly with blue state signs, road signs, parked police cars, and traffic cones, directing you into the parking garage (located directly across the street from Whole Foods). From appearance, it looked like they were set up in the garage, but as we approached in our cars, we learned it was actually just for parking and you'd have to go inside the former Lord & Taylor location. I really like how they used this empty building and turned it around to be a fully operational medical tent basically. It was a good show of business and government working together (though I'm not sure what/how that agreement got set up). We were in and out quickly. Happily, I was able to help translate for my family member, but the nurse also offered translation services if needed, fyi. read more

I love the mall in Columbia,Maryland. Lots of stores and I especially love Macy's. They have my Yankee Candles which they closed down @ Arundel mills. I love that they have two levels. Also places to comfortably sit and take a break from shopping. Or maybe wait on someone who is shopping. Masks are required and the majority was compliant. I did notice a guy talking on his cellphone sitting near Macy's without one but everyone stayed clear of him. This mall has available eatery shopping and a separate food court. It was pretty crowded as expected since it's almost time for school and it was no tax week. Some stores had really great deals for school clothes, etc. Children's place had a great deal in uniform pants. We maneuvered after all of the shopping and sat down in the eatery. We noticed Columbia Mall has added a lot more businesses to replace the companies that left. Popeyes is back and beside Chick Fil A, how ironic. We had a great and found everything we needed. Small mall with anchor stores Nordstrom and Macy's. They do have some restaurants such as Maggianos and Cheesecake Factory. Nordstrom has their Espresso Bar. There's Aunt Annie's, Starbucks, McDonald's, etc. There are not a lot of stores here. This mall has the nearest Fabletics in the area. It does have the old school store from the 80s Shoe Show, which I had no idea still existed since they've gone out of business in most areas. Would I make a special trip to go to this mall? No. If you live in the area or in the area, then it's fine. It's good for those that live in the nearby housing. read more

I know it's shocking but I moved to Columbia so I could be closer to the mall. Lol. I think it's the second nicest mall in the DMV area following Tysons Corner Center. The Mall in Columbia is so popular that rather than waste my time circling the parking lot to find a parking space I come when the mall opens on the weekend or during a weeknight. I just saw someone park illegally adjacent to me today. They made their own parking spot. During the holidays I've seen people park by the curbs. Now in terms of the stores, they have a mix of chain retail stores and restaurants and non-chain names. Most of the stores are moderate to highly priced. I pretty much shop only when there's a sale, which I find the best deals are typically during the holidays, or if my favorite retailers have coupons. A few weeks ago I noticed a poster at the mall regarding a loyalty program & cash back rewards. You link a credit card online through www.themallincolumbia.com and every time you make a purchase it is tracked. Once you have spent $250 you get $10 in rewards cash that is added to your rewards account which can then be applied towards select retailers and restaurants. I don't shop in malls anymore. There are too many children and teens running amuck, adults who don't pay attention, and cart vendors hawking their wares. However, I shop online a lot and have my items shipped to stores in order to avoid shipping costs or have items dropped off at my home that can be stolen. Columbia Mall is near my job and gym, so I have a lot of purchases sent to stores in this mall and visit frequently. This is actually a fairly nice mall and has all the major department stores a person could want. There is ample parking, though the parking lot gets nuts and I can't say all the parking is conveniently located. Columbia Mall is super clean and has every modern amenity a mall needs, except one of the up escalators frequently does not work. The food court offers a broad variety of food, plus there are food options outside, yet still attached to the mall. Fine dining is in the parking lot, with a Cheesecake Factory, and PF Chang's and a Seasons 52 just there. Overall, good mall for a quick run, especially during the day as the kids and teens are mostly absent! read more

Full disclosure: malls are not my things. Or, they haven't been since I was 16. This mall is pretty standard. It's large and has the typical stores you'd expect. The food court was a bit more interesting than a food court the average mall, but other than that? It's a mall: crowded, same shops as other malls, a bit of a hassle to get in, out, and park. If I decide to go to a mall, I choose to go to this mall. Even though the Wheaton mall is closer, I rather just ride to Columbia. Their stores have better selection and more items in stock. The mall is cleaner and less hectic - though it can get pretty busy. Since I like to avoid mall crowds, I usually like to go to this mall between 11am and 1pm, but that is just me. But, when I have come during peak hours, it still seems to be tolerable EXCEPT for the food court. I rarely go on that side because it always seems too crowded and tight for some reason. Other than that, it is a mall. Same stores as most other malls, but this mall is just better. It could all be in my head, but I will continue to make the ride to Columbia to attend this mall. read more
