I had a great first time experience here. I'm usually terrified of anyone touching my hair, but Savannah patiently listened to my concerns and she exceeded my expectations. I asked for a cut and curtain bangs, and as a Level 1 Service provider, Savannah was hesitant/nervous to cut my bangs, so she asked Nicholle, a Level 5 provider, to come over and handle the bangs instead! Nicholle showed her how it was done and the bangs came out exactly how I had hoped! I thought this was a thoughtful, professional, and collaborative effort handled well by Savannah. The salon is clean and well kept. In a small strip mall right in Staples Mill with plenty of parking. The owner was quick to respond to my emails and schedule my appointment. At $38, it was one of the lowest priced haircuts I was able to find, with the highest ratings on Yelp. I'll be returning! read more

So I've been here before at the recommendation of my mother. I tend to get more outlandish bright colors in my hair and she simply colored in grey. When she decided to start growing out her roots she communicated that clearly to her stylist. Unfortunately her stylist decided she knew better (I wish I knew the name but I don't). She arrived to her allotment with all the commotion tools already out and when she asked why, the stylist said that she needed to either get the color treatment, or she would be charged for canceling part of her scheduled services. Keeping in mind that she had not scheduled colouring services, I was incredibly surprised by this kind of reaction. While I have not had a bad experience myself (the reason for 3/5 instead of 2/5) and they color and style hair quickly and well, I won't be returning based on the duplicitous practices. I would recommend this location for color updates on a one visit at a time basis only, not creating a lasting stylist relationship. read more

I was tired of my drab grey hair. I had seen on social media that Elena Sanzone did wonderful work so I went for a consultation and booked an appointment. Her salon is very warm and inviting with a very attentive and welcoming staff. It is a very relaxing atmosphere. She cut and colored my hair, which is very thin. She took my grey and made it so many shades of warm blonde tones I can hardly believe it! It is soft and looks fuller from the layers she cut. She listened to what was important to me. I called when they opened at 10 and was happy to book an appointment for the same day at 130. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and waited a brief amount of time to be seen. Sophia was my assigned stylist. She's a level two so her pricing was reasonable. She took the time to listen and ask questions regarding the look I wanted to achieve and was happy I had photos to help visualize my goal. Had to stop coming here due to the lack of service I received on my last visit. I arrived just as another customer was finishing her appointment, and I let her pass to go to the counter to pay for her services. Boy, was that a mistake! She proceeded to talk. And talk. And talk. And talk. And then talk some more. I had to listen to what her Thanksgiving plans were, what the counter girl's Thanksgiving plans were. Hear about who all in each of their families was gluten intolerant and the ways they each go about getting around it. What stores are good for buying gluten free products. How "It's the new normal." How many times did she say that? And then just when you think the conversation is coming to a close, they start saying the exact same things all over again! Mind you, the lobby isn't large. There's no way possible the counter girl (Ashley, I think) didn't see me. In fact, she looked me dead in my face and just kept on talking as if I weren't even there. The thing to do would have been to acknowledge me, check me in, and let my stylist know I was there. And then go back to your vapid conversation. After listening to this annoying banter for lord knows how long without acknowledgement, I finally got up and told Ashley she could cancel my appointment since I wasn't important enough to greet, and walked out. I've been coming to Invidia for my curly long hair for years. Marcella always does in amazing job with my curly cut. She's careful to listen to what I want and to be cautious when cutting length, never overdoing it. The vibe in the salon is warm and relaxing. All of the stylists are friendly, welcoming and professional. I've only ever had positive experiences here and I won't go anywhere else. For my job I regularly travel out of state and the country for weeks at a time, but I always wait (and even put off getting a cut) until I can be back in Richmond and go to Invidia. read more

I can honestly say that I have had some of the best experiences there since leaving my hometown in IL. I truly trust Marcella, and her innovative creativity with my hair is fun, and evocative. Great place for a haircut and style. I often use groupons when trying new salons and this didn't disappoint. Staff is nice and salon is clean. Ask for pricing when scheduling. Some stylist may charge more than others. You can request service on a walk in but depending on time and day that might not always work. Call ahead if you need a quick style. They have taken me as a walk in but on days they are busy they probably wouldn't be able to accommodate. read more

It was my first time at this salon and my stylist was Marcella. She was very patient, attentive and polite and listened to what I wanted. I was there for a haircut and surface highlights. She made sure I got the exact color of highlights I wanted and the exact length of the haircut. She is great at what she does. I'm taking one star off because I was told by another stylist (not Marcella) that I wouldn't be able to use the groupon right away after purchasing as it takes 24 hours for the barcode to be loaded. But I'm glad I didn't listen to her and purchased the groupon then and there and it actually took 24 seconds for the barcode to be loaded and I ended up saving tons. Another star deducted because I was there for a haircut and surface highlights. Instead of doing the haircut first, the highlights were done first with another client being worked on between my highlights and haircut while I waited for about 30 minutes which I thought was a little unprofessional as I had made the appointment well in advanced. And because the highlights were done first, more dye was used on my hair since I had longer hair and due to this I was charged $10 extra that wasn't covered by the groupon I used. read more

Both my fiance and I have been going to Invidia for close to a year now. We both go and see Gabby, who is amazing. I'm super lazy when it comes to my hair, and I dont like investing a lot of time in the morning. I need a cut that is wash and go, but still looks nice. I dont know how she did it, but Gabby gave me the perfect cut. It stays looking good as it grows out, and I dont have to use a ton of tools or products to be presentable. She also manages to cut my guy's hair really well, considering he never knows what he wants. I haven't had any other services at this salon, but I know that they have a LOT to offer including massage, and ear candling. I plan on getting a massage here soon. The salon is always clean, and they have frequent specials. The $15 referral bonus is a nice touch too. Possibly the best part about this place is that I have never, not even once, felt pressured to buy product from them. Nothing turns me off faster than pushy sales after a haircut. I happened upon this neat little salon and celebrated a year of going back on a regular basis. The owner, Elena, is an excellent colorist and I've kept the same hair style/cut for over a year now-- Prices are reasonable and it's worth the few extra miles for me to get a great cut, style and color. Elena is always open to new ideas but is honest with me on keeping my look current and easy to style. My husband sees Gabby who does a great job keeping him neat and trimmed. Let me first start by saying that I rarely go to salons and when I do I am normally disappointed. But Invidia is fantastic! I have never gotten my hair colored professionally before and was worried it would be super expensive or that they wouldn't be able to achieve what I wanted. I had Brittany for my stylist and she was absolutely amazing. From the start she was super knowledgable about how to get the color I wanted and what would be better for my hair and how I wanted to maintain it. She put me at ease and was super easy to talk to. I used a $28 groupon for a haircut and conditioning treatment. Christy did a FABULOUS job with my hair. The haircut was neither too long nor too short in length or time. She is clearly talented and was able to blowout my curly hair straight rather than needing to flat iron. I left with lovely bouncy layers. They use redken and Pureology products. I'm usually a fan of places where there is no upcharge for my medium length curly hair (am able to leave a larger tip instead), however, there was a $10 upcharge here and would probably be $20 if my hair was longer. I don't spend much on beauty and am usually happy with a $15 hair cuttery cut, but maybe it is time for a change! read more

My hairdresser was Brittany. She was so amiable, so amicable. She explained from the get go how everything worked. She just did a dry cut on me, which I asked for, and I chopped off a lot of hair. She made sure it was the length I wanted and she and I chatted each other up. I asked about their slowest days and how long they'd been there. She answered my questions with the most friendliest of attitudes. She also said she specializes in perms and I've been wanting to get a curly perm again for a while. I think this'll be my destination. They gave great discounts and coupons, and you get great perks if you refer a friend. And your friend gets the perks too!! They're also very clean and well-organized. A great plus. With all that being said, my cut, as the days have gone by, is kind growing iut a little weird. Its so hard to find a salon when you don't know anyone in town. I bought a livingsocial deal for this salon for a deep conditioning and haircut! I am very satisfied with my purchase! My appointment was with Lauren and she was beyond sweet and gentle! I just wanted a trim to freshen up my hair and she gave me exactly that. She didn't cut more than I asked and she even curled my hair after when I asked. The place is clean and adorable, even down to the comfortable shampoo chairs. The haircuts are only $32 regular price which is much more affordable than the average. I will definitely be returning if I'm in town long enough! read more

My hairstylist is Carie and I highly recommend her! The place is very friendly and great price for the service you receive. It's a very bright and friendly place. They are very accommodating to what you want. My bangs haven't been styled properly until I went to this place. I explained how the scar on my head causes the bangs to raise up on one side and how I don't style my hair hair one handed. I'm a comb and go type of woman. I made an appointment here out of necessity a few months ago because my hair was out of control and in desperate need of some lovin'. I went out on a limb and called here because it was closest to my house, and made an appointment with Carie. My gosh, I love her! But I love what she does to my hair more! She's very kind, and won't chat your ear off if you're just trying to relax during your appointment, (but she is also personable and fun to talk to, best of both worlds.) Both times I've visited I get compliments for days on how amazing the cut/color is. Once you find a good hairstylist, there's no reason to look anywhere else. 5 stars! read more
