Very disappointed in the service. I've been going here to do my eyebrows for a year now and about 90% of the time I am unhappy with how thin she leaves them. I also do not like that every time I walk in she threads my eyebrows in a rush and does bare minimum above the eyebrows leaving me to pluck the rest at home even when I am the only one in the store. She also doesn't thread in between the eyebrows either. There are better places like A1 Brow or Best Brows closer to the city where I will be going for now on. Do not go here unless you like thin eyebrows, bare minimum cleanup, and just overall poor service. read more

The space is very clean and inviting. Nilam offers a variety services to include eyebrows (wax or threading), eyelash extensions, Brazilian wax, men services and the list goes on. I have had the eyelashes before and they last a very long time and looked so natural. I come on a regular with Michael to get my eyebrows done. Yes, men need attention too lol. Came in excited for threading and the lady did not even greet me when I said hello. She pointed for me to sit in the chair and had the worst attitude and a demeanor as if she did not want me there. Felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable as the lady did not even respond when I asked if she took card when I got to the register it said "cash only" which was not mentioned until after the service. I came here, because it's close to my job, and I have had HORRIBLE experiences recently with my eyebrows. So me being a typical millennial, I took to the internet to find a place with good reviews, and stumbled upon this place. I called to make an appointment, but not appointment necessary she told me. So after work I walked in to sit down, and waited maybe 10 minutes for her to finish up the person before me. When she got to me, I told her that I just wanted them cleaned up and wanted to keep the shape. It took her about 10-ish minutes to finish and when I saw them, they were PERFECT. I don't think I could have asked for her to do a better job. Its hard to find someone to trust with your eyebrows, but I think i found a really good place that I'll keep coming back to. read more

Quick and surprisingly PAINLESS eyebrow threading experience. I don't know how she does it but it was really mild by comparison to what I've been experiencing in the past. So awesome. Nilam was the first place to show up and I decided to try them out after the many good reviews. When I showed up there were two others ahead of me and I only really waited maybe 15 mins before she saw me for eyebrow threading and waxing the lip and sideburns. Make sure you're clear on what you want upfront, there was a minor confusion when she forgot about waxing the sideburns. But overall she did a great job. Kind of wish she had used rose water or some lotion to calm the skin irritation. When I got home I put some lotion on my face to cool the burning and protect the unde She's a one person business so don't mind waiting a bit. I thought I had come at a good time where there would be a lull but I guess all of us had the same idea. After I started a new skincare regimen, my dermatologist told me that the only options for hair removal would be threading or laser (a little bit out of my price range at the moment). Yelp led me to Nilam! First, she is literally the only one in a 20-mile radius who offers threading. I've been seeing her for a solid year and couldn't be happier! Second, pricing is very, very reasonable. Much cheaper than waxing. (Beware, threading HURTS. I can honestly say that Brazilians hurt less than full face threading. But then again my skin is very sensitive. Beauty is pain, yes?) Third, it's important to support local businesses. Nilam owns the salon and devotes 6 days of the week to keeping her clients happy. She is a superwoman! For all of these reasons, it's well worth the drive to see my threading go-to. It's helpful to call ahead to check Nilam's availability. That said, she has ALWAYS managed to squeeze me in. Note about location: the salon is tucked inside a strip mall on the Midlothian turnpike. I ran across this place while trying to find someone to shape my brows. I have been a fan of threading since I was a high schooler, so I am very picky and I believe that a woman with non groomed eyebrows is a hot mess!!!!. A lot of places tend to lack in consistency and taking the proper time to groom each person based on their individual face characteristics...now on to the review. The location isn't the best. It's tucked away in a shopping center and can be easily missed. The inside is decent - nothing to write home about. I was quickly greeted as soon as I entered (that's a plus). I had called ahead of time to set up an appt bc I didn't want to wait. The owner (nilam) did my brows. she was conversational but not too much to were I was dying to get up. She allowed me to look at my brows with her prior to starting and I liked that! Once she got started, I felt she knew what she was doing- she spent ample time on both brows using a combo of threading and the brow shears. After each brow she allowed me to look to make sure I approved! I felt she catered to the shape of my face and not just doing a standard arch and shape for all people that come by Conclusion: I have been looking for someone to be consistent and give my brows the proper care in Richmond and I would definitely recommend this new establishment. I loved my brows and they looked great and she was able to even them out ( bc the eyebrow place aka chop shop inside regency mall messed my eyebrows up!!!) Now, it will take a few more return visits to make sure the consistency aspect stays, because many companies start off being able to do that but once business grows it's down the drain. I think this is a place worth a try for richmond yelpers. She also does massages and waxing services in her place as well. Nilam is the real deal! If you are looking to try threading, look no further. Remember "cat's cradle" that game that children play with string or yarn? The process is similar. She uses regular sewing thread to remove the unwanted facial hair, crazy! I prefer threading over waxing because my skin is so sensitive. I have minimal irritation following my treatment. It's definitely a unique skill and feels strange. Now, don't get fooled by rumors that it doesn't hurt, ouch! However, the end result is well worth it. Hair re-growth is supposed to become more fine and sparse after regular visits. Overall, if you are looking for an effective hair removal method in a private setting, give it a shot! read more
