We found a good mix of vendors with about a dozen selling local produce, my primary interest. The veggies looked fresh and I bought corn, dill and the most beautiful and freshest eggplants that I have ever seen. Prices were reasonable. Venders were selling everything from baked goods, local meats, fresh cut flowers and honey. There were some vendors selling craft and artisan items. Most notable to me was a vendor selling beautiful hand crafted leather items. We saw about a dozen food trucks selling breakfast items, coffee, smoothies, donuts and more. I thought the food trucks were on the expensive side but I only checked out a couple. Vendors were friendly and engaging for the most part. I like interacting with the local farm crowd. This farmers market was well organized and they had a lot of different vendors here. I did notice that you must get here early because by 11am some vendors are running out of items. There was this corn vendor and that line was so long but I did notice that he sold out by 11:30an. People were talking about how sweet the corn is from there. I more so came to the farmers market to come window shop but I did end up buying a lemonade and some ice cream. The lemonade was very refreshing and delicious. I was happy I bought the lemonade and the price was not bad at all. It was $7 for a nice size. I also ended up seeing the dog store at the event so of course I could not leave without buying my dog some dog treats which she really enjoyed them. The fresh corn line stayed long until the moment they sold out. I was thirsty and the lemonade from the popcorn and lemonade stand was tasty. I will definitely be back to provide them with repeat business. SPOILER ALERT: Overall, this was a great farmers' market, but there were way too many dogs. I also noticed several dogs relieving themselves mid-walk, right on the concrete, which I found pretty gross, especially with so much food around. Germs can easily spread in that environment. On top of that, I have a severe allergy to pet dander. Many people don't realize how this can affect others when they let their dogs wander instead of keeping them close on a leash. I grew up with dogs and know there are dog parks, but I wish people would leave their pets at home in the air conditioning when visiting places with food. This is the reason for a lower rating. The drawback to me for this market is the pricing, for example near me at home I can buy corn for $3 a dozen when I went to the market it was $9. Having said that though I still love to go here and pick up the items I might not find near me. It was overcast and not raining on Saturday so I ventured out. I made my way around to all of the booths/tents and found all of the vendors to be very nice and helpful. I started my day with some lavender vanilla chai tea with a little almond milk from Aahaa Chai and I will say that was an excellent way to start the day! To go along with that there are a lot of vendors that do pastries or breakfast items and I found a baklava that I had a long with my chai. I went to the market to get some green tomatoes to fry as our garden has been under water for a couple of weeks and is not doing well. I was able to find those and more. I also found a unique cabbage that was shaped like a cone and the vendor told me that it was more sweet than a regular cabbage so I brought one of those home to try. I would have loved to taken home some fresh cut flowers but I knew I was going to be out all day and could not leave them in the truck. Walking out I found a vendor that did gluten-free and dairy-free macarons. Petit Regal did them right! They were exactly as a macaron should be, crispy on the outside and dense on the inside with a sweet filling. What I love about farmers markets in general (and this one specifically) is that each person selling their goods is super excited to tell you all about them, how they made them or grew them, what to eat them with or how to use them. On this visit, I bought some tea from the Tarkington Tea booth, a boule of French bread from The Bearded Baker, honey sticks from Dragonwood Honey & Maple and a dried cow hoof for my doggie from Becker Farms. I was eyeing the pea shoots at another stall, but I'll have to come back and buy those another time -- the guy was busy and had a line of customers. This indoor farmers market is located at Roy G. Because it's inside you don't get any issues with weather but because it's inside you also get a concentration of voices and smells that have nowhere to go. It can get a little loud inside. There isn't a hot breakfast option so don't plan on eating here like you can during the summer. If you're looking for fresh delicious produce this is a good market, if you also go to the summer one for entertainment, this is not the same as that market.
